More from the Jills at the Bills' Home finale

As promised, we do have more photos from Sunday's game to share.
First up, we have photos taken by a friend of mine. He generally gets a few shots of pregame and, when they perform in the tunnel endzone, of the 3rd quarter break performance.

The Jills at the Bills' Home Finale

The 2013 season has been a season of transition in Buffalo with a new coaching staff, new QB, and new front office with the Bills. There have been some tough losses and some exciting wins. Last week, the Bills' perennial rivals from Miami officially eliminated the Bills from the playoff race but the character of the Bills' team wasn't going to take it lying down. Behind one of the strongest performances the Bills defense has put up in a few years, including 7 sacks, shattering the franchise mark for a season with a total of 56, the Bills "squished the Fish" with a 19-0 score in front of a crowd of 54,305 that, at times, sounded like a sell-out crowd.
The Jills have also just completed a season of transition. A significantly smaller squad than normal with a large amount of turnover started off the season. Only 2 Jills remained prior to the creation of this site and they, Nichole and Omarlla, both are in management. But while the veteran presence is lacking, the youth showed a lot this season, both in the younger vets as well as in the beautiful rookie class.

The Jills ready for pregame

Prior to performing, they introduced Jenny as the Buffalo Jill of The Week and Emily as the Jills' Pro representative.

The Christmas game had the Jills in their Santa outfits, complete with a special pregame performance with Billy Buffalo and a little elf as well as a Jingle Bell Rock-themed 3rd quarter break.

On the Ambassador Squad, Dana and Ashley P handled promotional duties but Janis, Gabrielle, and Ashley C also made appearances on the sidelines at various points in the game.

The tricky part of the day was protecting the camera. With the cold, rain, and wind, I wasn't able to get as many photos as normal, which was to be expected when the NFL disallowed camera bags to be brought into NFL stadiums. However, there will be more photos we'll be sharing from the game later in the week. For now though, check out all the pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/pictures/34598
Next up for the Jills, Gabrielle and Ashley (not sure which one) will be appearing at the taping of Out of Bounds with Arthur Moats and Sal Capaccio tonight at Danny's South in Orchard Park. The taping starts at 7:30pm and the special guest is Bills FS Jairus Byrd.
After that, tune into the Pro Bowl on January 26th at 8pm ET on NBC. Jills' 4th year vet Emily will be there, obviously sporting the prettiest smile.
Next season looks to have more changes for the Jills as at least 3 of the 8 captains are planning to retire and with tryouts coming up in April, we'll just have to wait to see what kind of changes are in store.

The Jills at the Bills-Jets Game

Coming off a 3-game losing streak, the Bills returned home to Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday to face off against the Jets in a division rematch. EJ Manuel's return to action the previous week didn't go well last week as the rookie signal-caller struggled mightily with his timing and footwork. The funny thing about rust is that it can be shaken off and with the running game uncharacteristically struggling against the Jets, the defense and the passing game combined to deliver a 37-14 win over the team from New Jersey.

With Veteran's Day just passed, the Bills designated this game as a Military Appreciation game with reps from all 5 branches on the field for pregame as well as a field-sized flag for the National Anthem. In addition, the Jills got into the act as they made a costume change in the 3rd quarter and came out to perform a military-themed 3rd quarter break routine put together by Jills choreographer Kelli Wagner, who's already putting one together for the Toronto game with the Beach Boys.

Next up, after the Bills take a week off, the Bills and Jills head to Toronto to "host" the Atlanta Falcons at the Rogers Centre on December 1st. Joining the Jills in a halftime performance will be the Beach Boys and Kelli Wagner is sure to have a great performance lined up.
Getting your Jills fix before then won't be that difficult as one special Jills alum will be getting some primetime exposure. Tonight, the New England Patriots head to Carolina to face the Panthers and reigning TopCat rookie of the year Ashley W spent 2008-09 as a Buffalo Jill. So tune in tonight to ESPN and keep an eye out for that familiar red haired beauty.

The Jills at the Bills-Chiefs game

On Sunday, November 3rd, the 3-5 Buffalo Bills, with undrafted free agent Jeff Tuel at QB, played host to the 8-0 Kansas City Chiefs in a white-out at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Despite all the signs pointing to a loss, the fanbase as a whole seemed confident in the chances of an upset. With some outstanding play on defense and pass-blocking on offense which shut down 2 of the league's leading pass rushers, it appeared as though that faith would be rewarded. However, some crucial turnovers along with some critical dropped balls gave away what should've been a win.

Handling promotions for the day were Gabrielle and Melissa B. Gabrielle is the lucky young lady chosen to grace the back cover of the Jills calendar while Melissa, a rookie on the Jills, started off as an dancer before switching to ambassador. She's also not a typical rookie as she already has a season performing on the pro level as a member of the 2012 Buffalo Bandettes.

As far as smiles of the game, narrowing it down would be impossible as Allysha, Katrina, Alyssa K, Katie, Kristina, Emily, and Myesha were standouts as usual but others like Emmy, Kayla, and Shelby H were also doing quite a job with the smiles as well. Then of course there's Melissa B who, along with Gabrielle, posed great for the camera a few times with gorgeous smiles shining.

The Jills and company at the Bills-Bengals game

Sunday, the Bills returned to Ralph Wilson Stadium to a sold-out crowd anxious to help their team get back in the win column. Unfortunately, injuries and a few atrocious officiating calls made it a lot harder and, despite pushing past all that to get the game into overtime, the Bills fell short by a score of 27-24. Lost in all that was the play of several Bills players like rookie LB Kiko Alonso piling up 22 tackles, a stalwart performance up front by 3rd year DT Marcel Dareus and strong returns by Marquise Goodwin and newly-re-signed punter Brian Moorman, among others.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and, around the NFL, except apparently in Dallas, teams and cheerleaders add pink to their uniforms and do some other special things in honor of it. In Buffalo, breast cancer survivors form Stampede Row for pregame introductions but this year, the Jills did something extra in addition to that. They invited several local college, high school, and little league cheerleading and dance squads to join them for pregame. In total, 7 squads joined the Jills as Jills Choreographer Kelli Wagner put together yet another masterful job to integrate them all together.

Handling promotional duties for the Jills ambassadors were 2nd year vet Dana, who I still think should've joined up even sooner, and rookie Kaeleigh. If I had to pick a smile of the game like I did the last game, it'd be a tough call. Dana and  Kaeleigh were outstanding in front of the camera and Allysha was just as great as last game. Add in Katrina, Alyssa K, Melissa, Myesha, and Kristina and choosing just one...impossible.
Next up for the Jills, after the Bills return from a 2-game road trip to Miami and to New Orleans, they're back in front of the home crowd as the Bills play host to the Kansas City Chiefs on November 3rd!

The Jills at the Bills-Ravens Game

After a loss in New Jersey at the hands of the Jets, the Bills returned home Sunday to face off against against the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Baltimore Ravens. The last time the Bills faced and beat a reigning champ was in 1996 when they beat the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 10-7. On this sunny September day though, the Bills ended that 17-year drought behind solid running, some explosive plays, and a stifling defense that limited Ray Rice to 17 yards and intercepted Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco 5 times, including 2 apiece by S Aaron Williams, filling in at CB, and rookie LB Kiko Alonso, now the league leader in interceptions.

Of course the fans played a part in the win as well with a lot of crowd noise, led by the Buffalo Jills. Even down a few girls, including a captain and her co-captain, they performed strong all game long. Emmy, Kelsey, and Katie managed things on their line pretty well with rookie Allysha probably having the smile of the game. As a photographer, girls who smile for the camera are a major plus as they make the job more rewarding and they present a positive image to the multitudes of fans viewing the photos. A number of girls have done a great job with that this season so far like Katrina, Katie, and Alyssa K but Allysha seemed to be the standout at yesterday's game. For proof of how positive this is...Jills alumni Valerie (2006-12) and Murissa (2008-11) were always among the most popular with the fans and the Bandettes' biggest camera ham, Stephanie O, has an NLL Girl of the Year award. So it's definitely appreciated by more than just me.

The Jills also did a little extra for the fans this week as, like they did 2 weeks ago, they did a Bandettes-esque costume change for their 3rd quarter break performance that they performed in the scoreboard endzone. It's definitely been a popular look with the fans and I know that the Bandettes have enjoyed doing many costume changes so one would think that the girls on the Jills are enjoying it as well.

Next up, the Jills will be back at home on October 13th when the Bills return to face the Cincinnati Bengals after this week's Thursday night matchup in Cleveland.
