Bandette of The Week Chrissy

This week, we take a look at the most-tenured member of the Bandettes squad, 5th year vet Chrissy. It seems like only yesterday she was a wide-eyed rookie just taking things in but she's grown a lot since 2011 and is a co-captain on the squad. Making co-captain should come as no surprise and is actually quite fitting given the fact that her willingness to help others is, she feels, her strongest character trait. Younger squadmates can and do go to her for help and have been doing so for a few years now. While she's more than comfortable in a leadership role, she's a little less so in the spotlight. She loves to dance but seems to prefer doing so as a part of a larger group and when it comes to photographs, while she's happy to pose for them, she doesn't seek it out like some of the camera hams on the squad. Luckily for the fans, this blonde bombshell is somewhere in the middle between camera ham and camera-shy.

Prior to the game, the Bandettes were handing out magnetic Bandits schedules to the fans and Chrissy was stationed at the top of the east bank of escalators along with rookies Brittany and Melanie.

From the Jills comes a photo from the 2011-12 Buffalo Jills Adult Comedy Show. The Jills used to annually hold a comedy show to help raise money for their program. In January of 2012, the Jills hosted their comedy show at the Tralf Music Hall with master hypnotist Jerry Valley. Shown posing for a photo before the fans started coming in are Jenny, Emily, and Jami.

Bandette of The Week Chrissy

This week, we focus on 4th year vet Chrissy as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Kirsten's line on gamedays, she's become a lot more vocal and confident over the years and has been Kirsten's co-captain in 2014. Quite the change from the quiet girl she was in 2011 when she was a rookie surrounded by some vets who had a lot more experience than she does now. A big country music fan, she's hoping to be working in the sports industry one day when she's done dancing with the Bandettes if not sooner. The big key to her is finding a job she loves so it doesn't seem like work, something that few people wind up doing but the ones that do are the happiest I know. A romantic at heart, Chrissy feels her biggest strength is her willingness to help others, a trait that serves her well as one of the longer-tenured girls on the squad as she's someone the less experienced girls can go to for help. You can see all of Chrissy's photos at http://buffaloprocheerbuffalobandettes.shutterfly.com/bandettesindividualpics/487 Chrissy's secondary photo is from the 2nd home game against the Toronto Rock. Shown performing during the 1st quarter are Chrissy and Lauren K.

Bandette of The Week Chrissy

This week, we take a look at 3rd year vet Chrissy as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Over the years, as girls spend more time on the Bandettes or the Jills, they grow a lot as young women. Chrissy is one of those girls who's grown the most it seems. In her rookie year, she was very quiet and reserved, except when performing, obviously. Her confidence and leadership qualities have grown each year since then, though. I think, in her rookie season, she may have spoken a sentence or so to me all season but at the Bandettes open workshop her 2nd season, she was a lot more talkative and outgoing. This year though, she did even more as, at the Open Workshop with captain Kirsten and acting co-captain Chelsea both unable to attend, she stepped up and led her line as they visited with fans that day. At the pre-game parties at Cobblestone, when Kirsten's line is there, Kirsten will generally lead one group of girls around the bar selling raffle tickets while Chrissy leads the other group. Something tells me that's something she would've never expected to do after her rookie season. I myself have to admit I'm impressed with every new undertaking she takes on. There's one thing that definitely hasn't changed in regards to Chrissy though and for that, as a photographer, I'm thankful. She's always been one of the prettiest girls to step in front of my camera lens. You can read more about Chrissy at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=Chrissy Chrissy's secondary photo comes from the game against the Philadelphia Wings and was taken while the girls were getting set to head out for their first intermission performance. Shown posing for the camera are Jessica, Chrissy, and Stephanie with Ashley, Kirsten, and Chelsea posing outside that little group.

Bandette of The Week Chrissy

This week, our Bandette of The Week is 2nd year vet Chrissy. It's not my place by any means to give out awards to Jills or Bandettes but if it was, Chrissy would definitely get the Most Improved Award. The fact that she dances on Lauren B's line, who would've won that award last year, is purely coincidental. No, it has nothing to do with her dancing or even her stunning good looks. What it is about is her confidence. In 2011, she was a bit on the shy side...overwhelmed and perhaps a bit intimidated joining the top dance team in the NLL as a rookie and surrounded by several squadmates with extensive experience. I think in her entire rookie season, she probably said about 2 dozen words to me. Imagine my surprise when she came up and gave me a big hug at tryouts last October. With the turnover on the roster since last season and a season under her belt, Chrissy has become a lot more confident and outgoing on the squad. Now she's doing her best to set a strong example to the younger girls. You can read more about Chrissy at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=Chrissy Chrissy's secondary photo comes from February's game against the Washington Stealth. Prior to the game, the Bandettes were greeting fans as they came up the escalators to the 100 level. Shown posing for the camera are Stephanie G, Chrissy, and Carissa.

Bandette of The Week Chrissy

This week, we take a look at another of our beautiful rookies as our Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Melissa's line, Chrissy doesn't seem that much changed from high school when her classmates thought of her as quiet. So far she still seems to be the quietest of the Bandettes but like other Bandettes and Jills who have started out as quiet, I have a lot of faith that the experiences she's had and will continue to have as a Bandette will bring her out of her shell in a big way. One way she's been far from quiet is through her dancing as so far, the biggest smiles I've seen in her are when she's performing, whether it be out on the turf with over 18 thousand fans watching her or when she's performing in section 113 with her linemates. Chrissy's secondary photo comes from early in the game against the Philadelphia Wings. Waiting to head out for pregame, we see Chrissy, Ashley, Lauren B, Krista, and Stephanie posing for the camera.
