Bandette of The Week Jessica

This week, we take a look at 4th year vet Jessica as our Bandette of The Week. A fitness trainer when she's not performing, Jess is one of those girls who gets along with everyone and has been doing that since her school days. As a Bandette, she's been L.B.'s co-captain the last few years, even without the actual title. The two of them have been pretty tight from day one, back when they and the rest of the Bandettes joined the Jills for a halftime performance in Toronto. She's level-headed and can come across as more mature than her age would suggest but can still have fun with the best of them. Those traits help her a lot in not only relating to the lesser-experienced members of the squad but also being someone they can look up to. Bandette of The Week Jessica

This week, we look at 3rd year vet Jessica as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line, Jess has been kind of a co-captain for her and when LB was contemplating retirement at the end of last season, Jessica made sure to tell me she'd do her best to fill in for her. Thankfully, she doesn't have to do that and the two of them have been almost inseperable ever since they first performed together in Toronto alongside the Jills. Currently working as a fitness trainer, she's hoping to one day become an athletic trainer like Dr Sherri LaShomb of the Buffalo Bandits. When Jessica was in high school, she was voted "friends with everyone" and in this case, it's pretty accurate. Jessica is closest with LB and with Chrissy, but she is the type to go out of her way to help the less-experienced members of the squad get acclimated to whatever they need to do. Bandette of The Week Jessica

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Jessica as our Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Lauren B's line, she's one of those girls who legitimately gets along with everyone. A big part of that is the fact that her friends know they can always count on her when the chips are down. She's also probably more involved than any other non-captain when it comes to the squad in some ways. Prior to games, the captains usually let me know which performances will be new for that game but Jessica is always eager to let me know as well and odds are, I won't be able to leave the post-game parties at Cobblestone until after she's seen the footage...lol. She's a future athletic trainer who will be getting her degree in Exercise Science in just 2 months and is also planning on getting her Master's as well. Buffalo Jill of The Week Jessica

This week, we take a look at Jessica as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Spending her gamedays as an Ambassador, Jessica kept it quiet to her family that she was trying out for the Jills and when they found out, they couldn't have been more proud. She didn't keep it quiet to her entire family, mind you. Her younger sister Briana shared her secret...and followed her big sister's example and tried out as well. I've been working closely with the Jills since 2005 and while we've had 2 pairs twins on the squad  in that time, this is the first set of sisters of different ages that the Jills have had in that time. But besides being a loving big sister, Jessica is also reportedly quite a cook as well and loves trying out cooking from all over, which makes living in Western NY so nice since there's such a wide variety to choose from all over the area. Obviously she stays in great shape though and loves to run. She even finished a half-marathon and I would imagine she plans to do it again and maybe more. Bandette of The Week Jessica M

This week, we take a look at our first rookie as the Bandette of The Week. Jessica M, who dances on Justina's line, got a couple big welcomes to the pro cheer ranks when she first joined the rest of the Bandettes and a number of Jills alumni in Toronto for the big halftime performance with the Buffalo Jills and Hinder. Then, at the Bandits Open Practice about a month later, she joined Lauren B in the ring when they challenged Bandits strongman Brandon Francis to a wrestling match. He wasn't up for it, though. In the future, she hopes to parlay the degree in Exercise Science she's pursuing into a job as an athletic trainer with a professional sports team like Sherri Lashomb has done withe the Bandits or Bud Carpenter has done with the Bills. Beyond that, she's proof that the stereotype of cheerleaders/dancers being stuck-up is just that, a stereotype. She actually got voted "Friends with everyone" in high school, which definitely isn't your typical senior superlative so I would imagine they had to have made it special for her. Jessica's secondary photo comes from the Bandits Open Practice held in December. While the players were practicing, the girls waited in the tunnel to the visitors' locker room.
