The Jills at the 2005 Animal Attraction Tailgate-revisited

Continuing on our look at the events of Dec 3rd, 2005, we come to the Animal Attraction Tailgate Event. At the time, AnimalAttraction.com was a fledgling dating website for pet lovers. To spur interest and attention, they hosted "tailgate parties" in various cities around the NFL complete with NFL Cheerleaders and their pets. To advertise the Buffalo event, rookies Amanda W, Krystalore, and Marissa G submitted photos with their pampered pooches.

In Buffalo, the event was held at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery and as I drove past to get a parking spot, I spotted Autumn outside trying to figure out where to go. After I got parked, I joined up with her and went ahead inside to find out that the event was taking place on the 3rd floor. As Autumn and Dakota headed in, I spotted Marissa coming over with her two rottweilers, Rocky and Beretta. I made sure to let Marissa and her mother know where to go and then caught up with Autumn. Unfortunately, Dakota was being a little difficult when it came to walking up the stairs and things only got worse once Rocky and Beretta came into view as Dakota lay down on the landing between the 2nd and 3rd floors. We tried to coax Dakota up the final flight of stairs and even Marissa pulling Rocky and Beretta into hiding did no good. Since none of that was working, I did the only thing left and lifted Dakota, a medium-sized dog, up into my arms and carried him up the final flight of stairs. After we got up there, he was fine, even after Marissa brought her two rottweilers up.

After we were all there, we mingled with a few fans, the director of Animal Attraction, and the dogs that the other girls brought along. Since it was a tailgate party, food was provided as well, in both people and dog varieties. I spent some time talking with Brittany's boyfriend, now-husband, over there. At first, the event didn't have a whole lot of attendance but with the Bandits Open Practice going on that morning, that was soon to change. A lot of Bandits fans, upon coming over to the post-practice party on the 2nd floor of Pearl Street, heard about what was going on upstairs and joined us. The director of the Bandettes, Erin J, even made her way up to join us, being a former Pro Bowl Buffalo Jill (1998-2002) herself and was joined by Jills alum Michelle M (1998-2000). With all the turnover on the squad since she last cheered, I was the only person Erin recognized at the event. As a matter of fact, 2nd year vet Melissa was the only vet there.

Jill-O-Ween 2005-revisited

Some of the Jills posing for the cameras
One event that the Jills had once upon a time was the Jill-O-Ween party, in which members of the Jills put on costumes and celebrated Halloween with friends and fans. Held at the "O" Restaurant and Lounge on Sheridan Drive, most of the Jills in attendance had fun with costumes supplied by George and Company. The fun actually started before the party as, after the Comedy Show a week before, Kelly was pretty excited to let me know how she was dressing up...as a witch, not a scary witch but a funny witch. Korinne also let me know ahead of time what she was wearing as did Carrie. The night of the event, Nichole ran things and I recall a conversation with her discussing something that she said she never planned on doing that she changed her mind on....getting married. A pair of her rookie squadmates had gotten married a few weeks before and she said she had no interest in doing that with everything she had to deal with. Thankfully, she changed her mind on that after she met the right guy and she and Joe have just had their 2nd child.

Officer Jena
In addition to hanging out with fans and friends while wearing costumes, the Jills put on a few dance performances and costume fashion shows, showing off the outfits they were wearing. Some of them were cute like Carrie's Easter Bunny outfit or Rachael as Little Red Riding Hood while others were sexy like Melissa's referee outfit and Jena's police officer costume. The best part was how they played off one another at times for poses for the camera. Rachael and Autumn have been the best of friends and regularly did appearances together. Totally without provocation, Autumn, dressed as a bee, "stung" her pal Rachael. Then there were others like Aimee the vampire going after fairy princess Amanda W.

It wasn't just the girls playing off each other though as Brittany, dressed as an angel, and Elena, dressed as a devil, posed for a photo with a fan dressed as a priest.

With one exception, the Jills didn't disguise their identities completely when in costume and I actually spent a chunk of the evening trying to figure out who the one exception really was. Eventually, I just gave up and asked Kelley T who it was. Unfortunately, Kelley also told this girl I didn't realize who she was and I spent the rest of the evening kissing up to Meg, dressed up extremely well as the Corpse Bride.

Buffalo Jills Calendar Release Party

Club Paradise in Blasdell, NY was the place to be Saturday night as the 2009 Buffalo Jills held their annual Calendar Release Party. As if a calendar that hot actually needed any help getting sold, the Jills pull out all the stops for this event every year. In addition to raffles and getting to mingle with Buffalo's Beauties, fans got to see a hot dance performance that featured many of the Jills dancers in a group of dances that took over 3 minutes in total. Keep in mind that most performances are generally about a minute in length so the Jills put a bunch of regular performances together into one big one. But to top that all off, the big attraction is basically seeing the calendar in 3-D as the Buffalo Jills came out on the Club Paradise dance floor to model the swimwear from the calendar.

The Jills are staying busy over the next week or so.
Tuesday night, the Jills are hosting an Open Practice at the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse where you can see what an NFL Cheerleader Practice is like, meet the squad, and learn a little. Get all the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=44
Gold's Gym is the official gym of the Buffalo Jills and will be the place to be Friday night or Saturday morning as they introduce the latest in exercise classes called "Body Attack!" The events include food sampling, Jills photos, and more. Get the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=49
Also, let's keep in mind it "Squish The Fish" week in Bills Nation and for the fans headed to Miami to see the Bills bounce back from yesterday's loss, make sure to check out the annual Buffalo Invasion Party at Shooter's Waterfront Cafe in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $10 at the door, proceeds going to Brian Moorman's PUNT Foundation and gets you the 1st drink for free, music by Buffalo's Tom Sartori, appearances by Buffalo Bills Alumni and by members of the 2009 Buffalo Jills! Check out the details at http://buffaloinvasion.com/details.htm
If you're not making the trip though, you can still watch the game with the Jills at a few different locations. The Aud Sports Bar in Depew is the location of this year's Edge Away Game parties that include an appearance by a couple of the Buffalo Jills. Check out the details at http://www.wedg.com/Article.asp?id=872591
If you prefer a different atmosphere, Sole Restaurant in The Walker Center has a pair of Jills bartending for every away game this season as well. Get the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=50

2007 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar Release Party

On the Friday night before the Bills opened the regular season on the field, their cheerleaders, the wildly popular Buffalo Jills celebrated the release of their Swimsuit Calendar at Club New York in Niagara Falls, NY. Party-goers were able to get calendars signed by nearly the entire squad as well as get photos of and with the Jills. After all that, the majority of the squad took the stage to show off their swimwear before Eileen, Christina, Omarlla, Nicole, and Katie K put on a trio of rousing dance performances for the excited crowd. Former Jills Kristine L (2002-2005) and Jessica K (2006...there to support her twin sister Jenica who made the cover) were on hand to help the large crowd celebrate the calendar. If you missed this big event, what were you thinking? Here's a LARGE series of pictures to show off what you missed and to give the rest of us some memories of the evening.
