Bandette of The Week MaKenzie

4th year vet MaKenzie steals the spotlight as our Bandette of The Week. This season, this future nurse officially takes on the role of Stephanie's co-captain, an adept pairing since besides the fact they're the two longest-tenured girls on the squad, they spend a lot of time together away from the Bandettes as well. Light-hearted and low-maintenance, MaKenzie has always been the outgoing type and loves making people laugh. If she has her way, she'll eventually be doing that around the world as she's hoping to travel a lot in the future, though we hope she restricts it to the offseason for as long as possible so we can see her on the Bandettes for several more seasons. While she has a personality all her own, she also reminds me of past Bandettes captains like LB and Justina in that she likes to keep me on my toes.  MaKenzie's secondary photo comes from the Bandits Opener against the Calgary Roughnecks. Bandette of The Week MaKenzie

This week, we take a look at 3rd year vet MaKenzie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Mandy's line on gamedays, MaKenzie is known for her impatience and for her ability to make others laugh. While the impatience is generally an admitted negative, her love of keeping things lighthearted will serve her well in her chosen career field of nursing. When she's not working, studying, or dancing, she can usually be found taking in a movie...which helps make her a low-maintenance kind of gal. It's not that she doesn't want to do a lot more but until the time comes that she'll be able to travel the world, movies make her content for the time being. Near the end of the 1st quarter, when the entire squad was out getting set to perform at intermission, Mandy grabbed some of her squadmates together for a photo. From the Jills comes a photo from the 2008 Home Opener. Prior to games before Stejon Productions took control of the squad, I made rounds to visit with the Jills Ambassadors to check in with them and ensure they got in some photos each gameday even though they didn't get to be out on the sidelines. For this game, I had some friends in from out of town who decided to join me on my rounds along with their little boy so they could get some photos of him with the girls. At the 97Rock Tailgate party, he's getting held by future Amazing Race star Katherine with Amanda F and Sarah. And yes, that is future Jills covergirl Katy in the background, the season before she joined the squad.

Bandette of The Week MaKenzie

This week, we look at 2nd year vet MaKenzie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line on gamedays, MaKenzie seems to be one of the most soft-hearted girls on the squad, a personality trait to go along with her soft and beautiful features. A future travel nurse who is looking forward to the travel that the job requires, MaKenzie seems like she will be pretty fit for the job. Besides the health care aspect, a big thing a nurse needs is a good bedside manner to help their patients in their recoveries. MaKenzie is gifted at making others laugh and is generally fun to be around. Both of those personality traits will be valuable assets to her on the job. While she's hoping that she can do most of her work in a warm climate, the ultimate would be getting to go to Italy. For those unaware, the role of a travel nurse is basically to fill in as a substitute nurse for a family whose regular nurse is unable to fulfill their duties for a period of time. Maybe she'll luck out and land a role covering for a nurse whose employers are taking a trip to Europe and she'll need to go along! When it comes to tryouts, a lot of girls who don't make it the 1st time give up rather than try again. Since MaKenzie made it her 1st try, we didn't get shortchanged of having her on the squad. She's admittedly an impatient young lady and maybe she wouldn't have tried out again. Bandette of The Week MaKenzie

This week, we take a look at rookie dancer MaKenzie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line on gamedays, MaKenzie's personality can be summed up in one word...delightful. She's obviously a cutie but she's also thoughtful and friendly and loving not only getting to perform in front of the greatest fans in the NLL, but the friends she's been making through the squad. While it seems her greatest bond has been with fellow rookie Danielle, her outgoing and loud personality makes her easy for all to get along with. Currently in sales, she plans on pursuing a career as a physical therapist and helping a lot of people recover from injuries, whether it be an athlete trying to resume his career or average people trying to get their lives on track after suffering an injury.
