Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week

Jessica and Jenica at the 2006 Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament
This week, before we get started on the 2012 Jill of The Week series, we take a look back at not 1, but 2 Jills alumni in the forms of Jenica and Jessica, the twins! Jessica only spent a single season on the squad, in 2006 while her more spotlight-loving sister Jenica stayed on the squad through the 2009 season. Growing up in the Southern Tier, I'm sure a lot of guys did double takes whenever these two beauties were on the scene growing up. I know when they tried out together in 2006, those of us there did a double take and I know it took me a while to able to tell them apart. While Jessica's career was short-lived, she still made a point to make it to several events in support of Jenica and last year, the two of them, after both moving out west, gave some thought to returning to the sidelines together...as members of the San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders. But they ultimately decided against it, staying retired having only cheered for the team they grew up rooting for. While on the Jills, Jenica did have a few noted accomplishments including a trip to Kuwait and Irag at the end of her rookie season and the cover of the 2007-08 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar.

Chelsea, Chrissy, Stephanie C, Carissa, and Erin Y at last year's Meet and Greet
From the Bandettes comes a photo from last year's Meet and Greet held at Cobblestone the evening after the Bandits Open Practice. The Bandettes sold raffle tickets and were aided in their venture to raise funds for  their program by several Bandettes alumni. Shown posing for a photo are Chelsea, Chrissy, Stephanie C, Carissa, and Bandettes choreographer Erin Y. Bandettes tryouts are being held the weekend of October 6th and 7th at Catalyst Fitness in Depew and hopefully turnout is at least as good as it was last year!

Laura's weekly show on dating and relationships is a continuation of last week's topic, dealing with how to approach women, this week on the signals that a woman may give when she's not interested. Alyssa B and Courteney help on this and answer a question about how large an age range is usually best for relationships.

Some pics from Albany

A few weeks ago, Q103 in Albany brought a couple of the Jills out to the capital region for an appearance at City Sports Grill and adorable Pro Bowler Jessica and the exotic Anna posed for dozens of photos with Bills fans as well as fans of the Giants, Eagles and Steelers among others.
Back in September, Q103 also brought out a pair of Jills to not only City Sports Grill, but Bentleys and Ravenswood as well. Last year's calendar covergirl Jenica joined bright-smiled captain Katie K in posing for several dozen photos with fans of many teams throughout the day.

Coming up next for the Jills, there is an open, FREE, required workshop for all interested Dancer and Ambassador Jills on Sunday, March 29th, 2009 at 10am at Fusion Dance Studio. Ending time will be determined by number of attendee’s. Please come early to check-in and pack a healthy snack. The actual audition dance routine will be taught at this workshop as well as learning all the requirements for both the Dance squad AND the Ambassador squad. On the 29th, young ladies auditioning for the Dance squad should wear shorts and ½ top- Young ladies auditioning only for the Ambassador squad should be in business casual attire on the 29th. If you are not sure what squad you’d like to audition for, wear dance attire so you can try that first.  There is no fee for this 1st workshop. You will not be judged at this workshop however; it is still important that you look your best because video and photos are taken. There will be a short question and answer period during this workshop to help you understand what to expect throughout auditions and what is expected of a Buffalo Jill. More details can be found at http://www.buffalojills.net/audition.html

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jenica

This week, we take a look at 3rd year dancer Jenica as the Jill of The Week. She spent the season dancing on Jamie's line alongside Stephanie Br and Shana and then Lynn and Eileen after Stephanie and Shana left the squad early. When Jenica first joined the squad, she was best known as being half of a set of identical twins that joined up together. Two seasons later, while still as close as can be with her sister Jessica, she's carved out a niche for herself on the squad on her own. She finished off her rookie season with a trip to Kuwait and Iraq along with 7 of her squadmates performing for the US troops stationed on 25 bases and then followed that up with another troop visit to Afghanistan in that following August. Last season was also the year in which this stunning brunette landed the coveted spot on the cover of the Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar. Learn more about Jenica at http://buffalojills.net/bios/jenica.html and don't forget to check out her 97Rock Photo Album at http://www.97rock.com/Article.asp?id=849865 Recently, she and squadmates Lonna and Ashley were the subject of an article in the Dunkirk Observer talking about some of their experiences on the squad and in it, Jenica relates how she's had guys fall madly in love with her in a matter of two seconds. That's a story that those that know Jenica have to wonder about...because 2 seconds seems to be kind of a long time when you consider how well-rounded she is in addition to her beauty. You would think falling madly in love with Jenica would be an instantaneous thing. You can read the article at http://www.observertoday.com/page/content.detail/id/516635.html?nav=5010

Northern Chautauqua County represented on Buffalo Jills

Jenica has had men fall madly in love with her in a matter of two seconds.

Lonna has been seen on national television.

Ashley has posed for swimsuit calendars.

All three of these girls - whose last names will not be revealed for safety's sake - have two things in common.

One, they are all members of the 2008 Buffalo Jills.

Two, they were born and raised in Northern Chautauqua County.

Buffalo Jills and Bandettes Photos of The Week

This week, our first Jills photo comes to us from this past April's Congratulatory Party, held at Club Paradise in Blasdell. Club Paradise will also be the site of the Swimsuit Calendar Release Party on October 25th so if you haven't already marked it on your calendars, don't hesitate to do so. In this first shot, we see Tiffany, Jenica, and Jessica L posing for a quick photo. Tiffany is a very engaging girl when it comes to conversation, very friendly and easy to talk to. Jenica is coming off a season in which she was the swimsuit calendar covergirl and also mugged for the camera from the sidelines more than anyone save the departed Amanda P. Jessica, known as Jess to her friends, is always sporting a bright smile and if you're thinking of throwing her off guard with a blonde joke or two, forget it. She's heard them all and has plenty of her own to tell as well. But she's known more for her fun personality than her natural blonde hair.

The second Jills photo comes from the first (annual?) Buffalo Men's Show held at the Agri-Center at the fairgrounds in Hamburg this past May. This was an event that celebrated men with sports stars, electronics toys like big screen TVs and game systems as well as snowmobiles, ATVs, and even replicas of KITT and the General Lee. The best part, though, was the gorgeous women including a Playboy Playmate, the CW23's Lydia, and of course, the Buffalo Jills. In this shot we see Lonna, Omarlla, Valerie, Stephanie BR, and Amelina posing for a quick photo.

With the Bandettes, continuing our look at the NLL Championship Game, we see a shot taken during halftime while waiting for the Bandettes to take the field for their performance. While the other girls were going over dance moves or getting psyched up to get back on the field, some of the girls posed for a quick picture. Here we see Jessica, Ashley, and Justina. Prior to joining the Bandettes, Jessica was in the US Navy while Ashley's face is familiar to longtime Buffalo pro cheerleading fans as she spent the 2002-03 NFL season as a member if the Buffalo Jills. Justina's claim to fame is twofold. She once performed with the Pittsburgh Ballet Company and she's now the self-proclaimed good luck charm for the Bandits so we should see a few more NLL Titles the next few years as long as she sticks around.

And here's a little blast from the past from the archives. Here's Casey from the Bandettes circa 2002 in her days with the Buffalo Bombshells.

Buffalo Jills and Bandettes Photos of The Week

This week, our first photo comes from the recent Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament. This one was taken after dinner when raffle prizes were being given out. Shown posing for the camera are 3rd year vet and last year's calendar covergirl Jenica and rookie Alecia. Jenica was one of the "Phantom Angels" who went to Iraq and Kuwait about a year and a half ago while Alecia seems to be a very outgoing girl who, if she puts her mind to it, could end up being a pretty decent golfer.

Our second Jills pic was taken at the Jills Congratulatory Party held this past April at Club Paradise, also the home of the the Jills Swimsuit Calendar Release Party in September. Shown posing for the camera are Katie K, Amelina, and Omarlla. Katie is going into her 4th season on the squad and 2nd as co-captain. Amelina, the shortest member of the squad (a fact that thrills squadmate Angelina...last year's shortest) is an outstanding dancer who loves the attention of the camera, similar to Sarah of the Bandettes. Speaking of photography, Omarlla has been getting photographed for 9 seasons now. This fun-loving teacher is still learning something new with every experience as a Buffalo Jills captain and thankfully has no intention of quitting anytime soon.

This week's Bandettes photo comes from the post-game party at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery following the Bandits Championship win back in May. Going with the theme of girls who love the camera, Korinne has been dazzling us with that smile since 2001, as a Bombshell, a Bandette, a Jill, and now again as a Bandette. Sarah has been a Bandette since 2005 and if there's a game in which she doesn't strike a pose for the camera at least once, you have to think something's up...lol.

Buffalo Jills photos of The Week

The Buffalo Jill of The Week feature is going on hiatus until September so until then, we'll be taking a look at some current and past Buffalo Jills at some of their appearances, events, and games from the past. We'll take a look at some past Jills, some current vets, and some of the beautiful and talented rookies who joined up with the Jills just this season.
The first pair of photos are the most recent, coming from the 3rd Annual Niagara Falls Fire Department Motorcycle Run which took finished up at the Hard Rock Cafe down near the American Falls.
The 1st pic features a pair of rookies, Anna and Murissa, in a shot taken right in front of the American Falls. Anna is one of a pair of Canadians on the squad and rather enjoyed being treated like a celebrity while on the recent Jills calendar trip. Murissa lives to dance and cheer and has an incredibly supportive family...many of them came out to see her at this appearance.

The 2nd pic features a trio of vets, Jenica, Amanda F, and Vincenza, posing with 97Rock's Concert Correspondent, DJ Jickster. Jenica is in her 3rd season coming off a season as the Swimsuit calendar covergirl. Amanda and Vincenza are 2nd year members of the Ambassador Squad who've each picked up a strong following among Bills fans with their time on the squad so far.

And yes, those are new uniforms. There've been a few modifications made to the Jills uniforms since last season and we'll see more of the modifications over the coming months.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jenica

This will be the final edition of the Jill of The Week for the 2007-2008 squad and, as usual, we are finishing up with the covergirl of the Jills Swimsuit Calendar. Jenica spent her 2nd season with the squad dancing on Aimee's line between Katie K and Amanda P and was 2nd only to Amanda in mugging for the camera during games...lol. But 2007 was a big year for Jenica in many ways. Besides getting the cover of the calendar, she was part of a group of 8 Jills who toured Kuwait and Iraq in early March of last year. When she returned, she tried out and came back to the squad without her twin sister Jessica, who she's done a lot with over the course of their lives. Thankfully, Jenica is one of our returnees for the 2008 squad and plans to continue to excel on the sidelines of the Ralph for the fans of the Buffalo Jills. You can read more about Jenica at http://buffalojills.net/bios/jenica.html

Jills video up on BuffaloBills.com!

There's a new video up in the multimedia section of buffalobills.com that gives another look at the tryout process. Included in this video are interviews with 3rd year vet Jenica, 2nd year vet Lisa, rookie Jennifer, as well as Lisa's friend Amanda who we met at the Jills Open Workshop. As it turns out, Lisa and Amanda wore matching outfits to the 1st day of cuts, bringing back memories of the 2006 1st day of cuts when Autumn and Rachael sported matching outfits as well. Unfortunately, Amanda won't be on the sidelines this fall as she dropped out due to time contstraints but hopefully she'll be one of those trying out again next year.

Buffalo Jills of The Week Jessica and Jenica, the Twins

This week, we have not one, but two Jills of the Week. Why? Because they're pictured together on the calendar. I'm talking of course about the twins, Jenica and Jessica. They definitely made everyone at the 1st round of tryouts do a double take when they came out to audition for the squad. They have a lot more than looks in common, too. They each want to learn to golf and when asked who they most admired, they each said her twin sister.
There are some things they don't have in common, of course. Sadly, one of those things is that Jessica won't be back with the Jills this fall, not being as much a fan of the spotlight as she thought she would be. Well, sorry Jessica...you have 1 more week of it here..lol.
Jenica, on the other hand, is returning to the Jills this year. She had to miss the open workshop due to her tour in Iraq with the rest of the "Phantom Angels" performing for, and visiting with, the US troops stationed over there.
You can read more about the twins in the files section of the webgroup(registration required) and check out their pics at Fisher Creative Image Photography's site http://www.fishercreativeimage.com/Jills/individual.html#jenica
