Bandette of The Week Stephanie

This week, we finish up our 2016 Bandette of the Week series by taking a look at 5th year vet Stephanie.  After serving as a co-captain last season, the longest-tenured vet on the squad is now not only a captain, but along with fellow captain Mandy, has been a coach for the squad as well ever since tryouts. Being a coach/captain is only the latest accomplishment in a fulfilling career for her after 1st getting named NLL Girl of The Year her rookie season and getting her picture on preseason publications the following year. Her sense of humor is only matched by her sense of responsibility and is a natural leader on the Bandettes with not only her experience but her personality. It's said that a boss stands back and tells you what to do but a leader shows you by example and Steph has been setting a great example to everyone around her for years. She's hardworking always with a smile on her face and treats everyone with warmth and sincerity. One would think someone with her beauty might be unapproachable but she's as easy to talk to as anyone I know. It doesn't matter if she's just met you or she's known you for years, she's still going to be genuine and fun to be around. Stephanie's secondary photo is from the Home Opener against Edmonton. While greeting fans coming into the game, MaKenzie and Stephanie posed for this photo together.

From the Jills comes a photo from the 2009 Jills Open Workshop. One of the things that the veterans look forward to most is reconnecting with squadmates they hadn't seen in over a month. Posing for this photo shortly after showing up to learn the routine at Fusion are Ayeshia and Valerie.

Bandette of The Week Stephanie

This week, we take a look at 4th year vet Stephanie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. A co-captain this season, she's not the type of gal to rest on past accomplishments, though she's still extremely, and justifiably, proud of the NLL  Girl of the Year award she won her rookie season. Now, in addition to her role on the Bandettes and working towards becoming every student's favorite history teacher, she's dabbling in the modeling world with 26Shirts, helping raise money for families in need. She's a perfect choice for the job because even her mother has a hard time saying no to that face. She's more than her looks though as she's about as genuine and down-to-earth as can be and easy to get along with. She says her biggest strength is her sense of humor but her sense of responsibility is up there as well. She's great at taking care of her younger siblings and is now showing her mettle as a leader on the Bandettes, something she was perhaps groomed for as she spent her formative years learning dance and cheerleading from Bandettes alums Meghan and Beth, respectively. You can read more about Stephanie at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=StephanieO Stephanie''s secondary photo comes from last week's game against the Blackwolves. Before the game, the Bandettes were stationed along the concourse signing their posters for the fans. Shown smiling for a photo are Stephanie, MaKenzie, and Abby.

From the Jills comes a photo from the 2008 squad. SoHo Bar was the spot to be on a late September evening as the Jills held a fundraiser to help raise funds for their 2009 Calendar trip. Pizzas and wings were donated to the cause along with plenty to drink. Out front to greet fans as they came in are Lisa, Anna, Ali, and Katherine.

Bandette of The Week Stephanie

This week, we take a look at 3rd year vet Stephanie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. With a personality as sweet as her smile, Stephanie's had a pretty solid career thus far. In her rookie season, she made her mark in a couple of different ways. First off, she took after her squadmate Chelsea in being a serious camera ham, a definite plus for a photographer. Secondly, ILIndoor.com ran weekly polls pitting some of the top dancers in the NLL against one another and when the dust all cleared, Stephanie had won the NLL Girl of The Year Championship at the end of the year. She hasn't rested on that accomplishment however. Last season, at the Bandits Open Practice, she made a point to introduce Danielle to the fans through my camera lens, something which Danielle turned around and did for Mandy this year. The fact that she made a mark for herself on the Bandettes was probably pre-destined...when she was younger, she was coached in dance and cheer by Bandettes alumnae Meghan and Beth. They were both dancing on the Bandettes when the team last won an NLL Title, something Stephanie is hoping to get to do in just a few months. See all of Stephanie's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalobandettes.shutterfly.com/bandettesindividualpics/16962 Stephanie's secondary pic comes from the Bandits Home Opener against the Philadelphia Wings. Some of the squad posed for photos prior to heading out for their halftime performance. Shown posing for a pic are Kirsten, Stephanie, and Lauren K.

Bandette of The Week Stephanie O

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Stephanie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Known as a major camera ham, which is a very good thing as far as we're concerned, Stephanie is the reigning NLL Girl of The Year after her squadmates pushed hard to get votes for her every round last year. Beyond the title itself, Stephanie got a lot more out of winning the title like that. For one thing, she saw first hand how close-knit the Bandettes squad can be the way everyone pulls together to achieve something for one of the girls. For another, she got some new friendships out of the deal, notably Candice of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders, who she bested in the 1st rd of voting. Candice and the rest of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders came down to Buffalo in the middle of the 2012 season and even put on a performance at halftime of the game. Stephanie and Candice got to meet a few weeks after their contest and struck up a friendship that's still going strong today. Of course being friends with Stephanie is pretty easy anyway as she's funny, friendly, and easy to get along with. You can read more about Stephanie at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=StephanieO Stephanie's secondary photo comes from early in the Rock game while waiting to head out for pregame. Congratulations to our NLL Girl of The Year!

Meghan F and Stephanie O
After 4 rounds of competition, ILIndoor finally has a champion in their NLL Girl of The Year competition. In week 2 of the competition, a fresh face from the Bandettes entered the competition as rookie Stephanie O was put up against a member of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders. At the time, Stephanie was already making her mark as a true camera ham on the Bandettes, smiling extra big whenever she spotted the camera on her. Truth be told, she made her mark even before making the squad. I've spent several years photographing at Jills workshops and on occasion, a girl will stand out just a little that I'll think to myself is pretty much a lock to make the squad. In all those times of making that guess, I've only been wrong once...and Lydia, then of CW23, wasn't trying out...it had been the 1st time I had met her and she looks better in person than she does on TV and in photos. This past year, I got invited to come photograph the Bandettes workshop and Stephanie was the one who stood out. She spent some of her earlier years dancing for Bandettes alumnus Meghan F and then started cheering...with Bandettes and Jills alumnus Beth as her coach.

Vote for Stephanie as NLL Girl of The Year!!

It's that time again. The Bandits were eliminated in the playoffs last weekend but rookie camera ham Stephanie O is in the finals for the NLL Girl of The Week contest. She beat Candace of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders in the preliminary round by over 18,000 votes. In Rd 1 of the playoffs, she took down Kayleigh of the Colorado Wild Bunch with 96% of the vote. In the semi-finals, Kendalyn of the Washington Stealth Dance Team was the victim as Stephanie racked up 58% of the vote. Now she's facing off against Sammie of the Colorado Wild Bunch who is surely looking to avenge her squadmate's defeat at the hands of Stephanie. But just as we pulled together and helped the Jills take down the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, we can ensure Buffalo wins another contest by voting for Stephanie over and over again.

Vote for Stephanie in Rd 1 of the playoffs for the NLL Girl of The Year

After winning handily over Candace of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders in the opening rounds, who she'll be performing alongside this week in Banditland, rookie camera ham Stephanie O of the Buffalo Bandettes is in the playoffs for the coveted NLL Girl Of The Year title. In round 1, she's facing off against Kayleigh of the Colorado Wild Bunch in an attempt to make the Final Four! Kayleigh beat Amy of the Rochester Knightingales in her matchup but the whole contest was a total of 23,739 votes while Stephanie's win involved a record 106,271 votes with a win of over 18,000! Go to http://www.ilindoor.com/2012/03/29/nll-girl-of-the-week-elite-eight-round-1-stephanie-vs-kayleigh/ and place your votes in for Stephanie and when I say votes, I mean plural....vote often and let's get Stephanie the win she deserves!

Bandette of The Week Stephanie O

This week, we take a look at rookie camera ham Stephanie O as our Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Kirsten's line on gamedays, Stephanie is fast making a name for herself already. Besides being pretty active in getting on camera...if she sees it pointing her way, she's pretty quick to smile for the camera. Dancing next to Chelsea, who was quite very much the same way in her rookie season, I would say the way she handles the camera isn't surprising...though I have a hunch it's something that she'd be doing even without Chelsea's influence. In addition her love of being photographed, she's also pretty well-loved herself. When she was down by 4000 votes in an NLL Girl of The Week poll last month, her friends and other loved ones pulled together to give her a convincing win by over 18,000 votes! A future social studies teacher, I think it's pretty much a certainty all her male students will be very attentive in class to whatever she has to say. Besides her obvious beauty, she's pretty bright as well. She enjoys reading about history and even has pi memorized out to 9 digits...whereas most people only remember 3.14! I just wish I'd had a teacher like Stephanie...they were never this cute when I was in school. You can read more about Stephanie at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=StephanieO Stephanie's secondary photo comes from the game against the Washington Stealth. Shown posing for the camera just prior to heading out for pregame are Chrissy, Stephanie O, and Jessica.

Congrats to NLL Girl of The Week Stephanie O!

Stephanie O with Chrissy and Jessica at the Bandits-Stealth game
Each week, ILIndoor.com is picking two ladies to square off to take home the honor of NLL Girl of The Week. The winner of each week will then be entered into the NLL GOW playoffs for the bragging rights of NLL Girl Of The Year. For their second installment of the season, they matched up Candace from the Toronto Rock against our very own rookie camera ham, Stephanie O. The poll started last Tuesday and closed last night. For the 1st few days, it was a pretty close match-up between the two until Candace took a 4000-vote lead Friday night. In these polls, you can vote as often as you like and apparently Candace called in some favors to claim a commanding lead.  A funny thing happened over the weekend, though. Buffalonians are known for their resilence and between Stephanie's squadmates, their friends, and her friends, Stephanie overtook Candace and never looked back, winning by a count of 62,403 to 43,868...over 18,000 votes...quite the accomplishment when you consider she was down by 4000 Saturday morning.
With only 9 teams in the league, we could be looking at 3-4 of these polls involving members of the Bandettes...maybe we'll end up with a Bandette-vs-Bandette final! http://www.ilindoor.com/2012/02/07/nll-girl-of-the-week-stephanie-vs-candace/

Vote for Stephanie O for NLL Girl Of The Week

NLL Girl Of The Week: Stephanie vs. Candace

Get your votes in for Stephanie! She's up for NLL Girl Of The Week against a girl from the Toronto Rock...she may be a rookie on the Bandettes but I say she deserves the honor if for no other reason than she loves the camera! http://www.ilindoor.com/2012/02/07/nll-girl-of-the-week-stephanie-vs-candace/
