Kelsey won her 1st round matchup in the NLL Girl of The Week series against the representative from Philly with a final tally of 9929 to 6950! Thanks to all those who voted but it's not done yet. In a few weeks, she'll be facing off against a dancer from another squad and we'll need the voters to step up again. For now though, we can celebrate her 1st round win!

First of all, it's that time again. A week ago, rookie Bandette Brianna V won her quarterfinal matchup in the NLL Girl of The Week series and now she's in the semi-finals. Matched up against Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch, Brianna is hoping to keep the NLL Girl of The Year crown in Buffalo. She took down one of Allie's squadmates last week so the pressure is on to keep it going. Congrats to Brianna and to Ashley!

First up, congratulations to rookie Bandette Brianna V, who scored a quarterfinal win in the NLL Girl of The Week series. This brunette beauty, who'd love the money that Lea Michelle, her celeb look-a-like, makes, won by over 3500 votes and landed a spot in the semi-finals. Voting opens a week from today!

On the Jills alumni front, Ashley W, who was with the Jills in 2008 and part of 2009, spent the 2012 season as a member of the Carolina TopCats. However, she wasn't just a member of the squad as she was elected Rookie of The Year by her squadmates following the season! Ashley's not leaving it at that as she made it through the tryout process that finished Monday night and is returning to the TopCats for a second season!

Buffalo didn't fare too well a few weeks ago in the NLL Girl of The Week voting...Calgary really pushed hard to win that round but we now have another chance to work on making sure the NLL Girl of The Year title stays in Buffalo. In her rookie season as a Bandette, Danielle pushed hard to return to dancing after serious spinal surgery. Instead of taking a year to make it back, she did it in a month. Congratulations to our NLL Girl of The Year!

After 4 rounds of competition, ILIndoor finally has a champion in their NLL Girl of The Year competition. In week 2 of the competition, a fresh face from the Bandettes entered the competition as rookie Stephanie O was put up against a member of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders. At the time, Stephanie was already making her mark as a true camera ham on the Bandettes, smiling extra big whenever she spotted the camera on her. Truth be told, she made her mark even before making the squad. I've spent several years photographing at Jills workshops and on occasion, a girl will stand out just a little that I'll think to myself is pretty much a lock to make the squad. In all those times of making that guess, I've only been wrong once...and Lydia, then of CW23, wasn't trying out...it had been the 1st time I had met her and she looks better in person than she does on TV and in photos. This past year, I got invited to come photograph the Bandettes workshop and Stephanie was the one who stood out. She spent some of her earlier years dancing for Bandettes alumnus Meghan F and then started cheering...with Bandettes and Jills alumnus Beth as her coach.

It's that time again. The Bandits were eliminated in the playoffs last weekend but rookie camera ham Stephanie O is in the finals for the NLL Girl of The Week contest. She beat Candace of the Toronto Rock Cheerleaders in the preliminary round by over 18,000 votes. In Rd 1 of the playoffs, she took down Kayleigh of the Colorado Wild Bunch with 96% of the vote. In the semi-finals, Kendalyn of the Washington Stealth Dance Team was the victim as Stephanie racked up 58% of the vote. Now she's facing off against Sammie of the Colorado Wild Bunch who is surely looking to avenge her squadmate's defeat at the hands of Stephanie. But just as we pulled together and helped the Jills take down the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, we can ensure Buffalo wins another contest by voting for Stephanie over and over again.

It's semi-finals time in the race to be crowned the NLL Girl Of The Year. She won the preliminary round against Candace of the Toronto Rock by over 18,000 votes. She then won in the quarter-finals with a whopping 96% of the vote. Now it's semi-final time and rookie Bandette Stephanie O is going up against a member of the Washington Stealth Dance team the same weekend that the Bandits face the Stealth. Each week, ILIndoor.com is picking two ladies to square off to take home the honor of NLL Girl of The Week. The winner of each week will then be entered into the NLL GOW playoffs for the bragging rights of NLL Girl Of The Year. For their second installment of the season, they matched up Candace from the Toronto Rock against our very own rookie camera ham, Stephanie O. The poll started last Tuesday and closed last night. For the 1st few days, it was a pretty close match-up between the two until Candace took a 4000-vote lead Friday night. In these polls, you can vote as often as you like and apparently Candace called in some favors to claim a commanding lead.  A funny thing happened over the weekend, though. Buffalonians are known for their resilence and between Stephanie's squadmates, their friends, and her friends, Stephanie overtook Candace and never looked back, winning by a count of 62,403 to 43,868...over 18,000 votes...quite the accomplishment when you consider she was down by 4000 Saturday morning.

The final NLL.com Girl of the Week of the 2011 season, Stephanie, is a member of the Bandettes in Buffalo. Stephanie recently weighed in with NLL.com about her cheerleading experience, her thoughts on the Bandits' playoff chances and much more.
NLL.com: Congratulations on winning the NLL.com Girl of the Week voting! Are you currently residing in Buffalo?
Stephanie: I was born in Buffalo (Getzville) and am currently living here. I loved growing up in Buffalo and have made great memories and friendships in this city.

NLL.com: What does your schooling background consist of?
Stephanie: I am currently an accounting major at the University at Buffalo and will be graduating in May. I will also be beginning a master's program at UB for accounting in the Fall.

NLL.com: What does your dancing background consist of and how did you get started?
Stephanie: I started dancing around four years old. I continued dancing and cheerleading throughout middle and high school as well as in college before I tried out for the Bandettes. I have to thank my mom and sister for getting me started in both dance and cheerleading. If it was not for them, I might have never even tried it!

This week's NLL.com Girl of the Week - Jessica of the Bandettes - hails from Niagara Falls, NY. A veteran of the United States Navy equipped with a Bachelor of Science from Niagara University, Jessica is enjoying her fourth season cheering on the Buffalo Bandits. She has been dancing for quite a while now, starting when she was four years old, practicing everything from ballet to hip hop and lyrical to baton.

When she is not working for a travel agency in the area, Jessica loves cheering on all of the professional sports teams in Buffalo.
