Unfortunately, a number of issues prevented me from going to the Toronto game to cover the Jills this year the way I did in 2010 but I'm not without my resources. Pro Bowl Dan, who is known for getting Pro Bowl Cheerleader Photos for Ultimate Cheerleaders.com as well as photos for the Ben-Gals and other squads made the trek to Toronto and was kind enough to share some of the photos he took with the Blog, the Jills fans, and the Jills.

We've also got the official video of the halftime performance featuring Psy, the Jills, and over 100 contest winners.
Next up for the Jills is the season finale in Orchard Park vs the Jets on December 30th.
Everybody knows Psy and his “Gangnam Style” dance. What if you actually had the chance to perform it with him, inside a massive stadium in a huge city like Toronto?
And what if you could do all that live?
This is the reality for the Buffalo Jills. They are the cheerleaders for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, who are playing a game this Sunday, Dec. 16 inside the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

I won't get into the issues of the Toronto series this year, except to say that the only things that made this resemble a home game were having 97Rock's JP in the booth and the Jills and Billy Buffalo on the sidelines. Bears fans easily outnumbered Bills fans at this game and crowd response definitely was in favor of the Bears. Truth be told, after last year's debacle, I had no intentions of going to anymore Toronto games unless I got a great deal on a good ticket and/or there were a compelling reason. At the last home game, I got a compelling reason in finding out about the halftime performance scheduled for this Toronto game, easily the grandest halftime performance for any NFL game not staged primarily for television, like the Thanksgiving Day games and the Super Bowl. Then, a few days before the game, I got the best possible deal on a ticket in probably the best section in the stadium. Alyssa, Meghan, Michelle, and Jessica at the Budweiser Tailgate Party
Prior to the game, a corporate-sponsored tailgate party, the only type allowed in Toronto, took place right underneath the CN Tower and next to the Rogers Centre. After an appearance onstage by HOF RB Thurman Thomas, members of the Buffalo Jills Ambassadors joined the festivities, selling out on the calendars they had on hand as well as posing for photos and signing autographs. Michelle, Alyssa, Meghan, and Jessica stayed pretty busy the entire time they were there with all the Bills and Bears fans there for the game.
Nicole, Kelly, Emily, Omarlla, and Eileen just prior to the game After I found my seat, surrounded by family and friends of the Jills, some of whom I already have met many times, it was time to go to work taking photos and videos. Pregame featured the Toronto Jr Jills along with the Buffalo Jills in a special performance at midfield. As big as the Jr Jills program has gotten to be, Jills director Stephanie M wanted to expand it for the remaining 3 years of the Toronto series and a small group of young ladies worked with the Jills to get ready for this performance which should give more girls a reason to try it out in 2011 and 2012.
In addition to performing their normal routine after the 3rd quarter, complete with the big finish by gymnastics dynamo Jill, the Jills put on a performance after the 1st quarter as well, putting on a portion of their normal pregame performance for the fans in Toronto. Halftime was the major reason I made this game and here's why. Rock group Hinder performed a 2-song set at halftime similar to what other bands do on Thanksgiving Day. However, unlike those halftime shows, this included dancers from more than a single cheerleading squad and some random dancers. Jills director Stephanie Mateczun called in the big guns for this performance. Joining the Jills dancers for this performance in addition to several dancers from Kelli's Fusion Dance Studio...

several Jills alumni including, but not limited to....Nichole M (1998-2001), Amanda F (2001-2003 and Bandettes 2006-2007), Francine (2000-04), Aimee (2002-07), Nicole P (2004-09), Lynn (2008-09), Rita (2008), Kristin M (2008), and Alecia (2008)...those are just the ones that I knew about
After halftime, the photo opportunities kept coming...in the stands as the Jills ambassadors, alumni, and Bandettes filled up the empty seats in the section. That's Bandettes 2nd year vet Lauren B on the right with a couple of her friends...or rookie Bandettes? Check all the photos out at http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2010/Bears/ and the compilation video here
Coming up next for the Jills, they'll be back at the Ralph next Sunday as the Bills play host to the Detroit Lions. Make sure to visit the Jills Ambassadors inside the Fieldhouse and at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties before the game as well as making sure you're in Lot C at 11:30 for a Jills pregame performance!
Tuesday, November 16th, the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse is the place to be as the Jills host an Open Practice in which they'll show young ladies some cheers and given them a taste of the Jr Jills program. Get all the info at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1971677&spid=34534
Next up for the Bandettes, they'll be performing (well, the girls that are at least 21 years of age) at the World's Largest Disco on November 27th at the Buffalo Convention Center. Check eBay, StubHub, and Craigslist for tickets as this event has been sold out for months as it is every year.
December 5th, while the Bills are on the road, head down to HSBC Arena for the Bandits Open Practice. See the team that's going to bring Buffalo its next championship (and were responsible for its last) and see the 2011 Buffalo Bandettes perform as a full group for the 1st time.
The Jills, alumni, Bandettes, and Fusion dancers with Hinder
On Saturday October 30th, the Joint Base Lewis-McChord hosted a free meet and greet with two members of the Buffalo Bills Cheerleading team.
They started off their tour here by going to the Navel hospital in Bremerton. The hospital had a costume contest going on that day and the girls had their picture taken with the winners, which consisted of sailors dressed up as members of the Wizard of Oz. The girls both received a coin by the Master Chief Petty Officer of the hospital, and both felt very honored to receive such an unexpected gift.
This week, the Bills and Jills head to Toronto to "host" the Chicago Bears up at the Rogers Centre and there's 4 big things the Jills are involved in.
First up is a VIP kickoff party being held at MUZIK Nightclub Thursday night at 9pm featuring NFL Alumni, rock group Hinder, and members of the Buffalo Jills. Get all the info on that at http://www.billsintoronto.com/fanzone/vip-kick-off-party
On gameday, as everyone should know, you can't tailgate in Toronto but the Bills know that tailgating is a vital part of the gameday experience and they have a sponsored tailgate party set up right under the CN Tower going on from 10am-12:30pm with live music, Bills alumni, food, drink, and the Buffalo Jills on hand. The info on that can be found at http://www.billsintoronto.com/game-coverage/budweiser-tailgate
For their pregame performance, the Jills have a special treat. Everyone knows what a big thing the Jr Jills program has become in Buffalo and for the next few years, until this Toronto series ends in 2012, the Jills are bringing a Jr Jills program to Toronto as well. You can check out the finished product in pregame of Sunday's game and maybe you'll want to get your children involved next year.
Halftime will be a must-see performance as rock group Hinder takes the field for a 2-song set. They won't be alone as the Jills will be performing right along with them...along with a large number of other dancers. These won't be random dancers, either. The Jills are bringing along the 2011 Buffalo Bandettes for this as well as numerous Buffalo Jills alumni as well as members of the Jills' own Ambassador Squad.
Finally, after the Bills' home game on Nov 14th against the Detroit Lions, the Jills are inviting everyone to join them in the Fieldhouse for an Open Practice on Nov 16th from 6:30-8:30. It's a great event in which the Jills teach girls to cheer like a pro. The event last year was a huge success and everyone, participant and spectator alike, had a great time. The event costs $5 per participant and $3 for spectators and gives children a taste of what the Jr Jills program is about. Get all the details at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1971677&spid=34534
BuffaloJills.net has a few sets of field level photos up from Sunday's game, many of them from Jills official photographer Brian Garman. Check out the links for the various albums.
Also, the Jills' next game performance will be the game in Toronto against the Chicago Bears and they plan on going all out for it. They are still accepting applications for a Toronto Jr Jills contingent through the 18th. Get all the info at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1867404 They also have a special halftime performance planned as well. Rock group Hinder, on tour currently, is making a special stop and playing at halftime of the Bills-Bears game and the Jills will be performing to their music. They won't be alone, though. There will also be 50 other dancers performing as well and these other dancers will be made up, at least in part, by a number of Buffalo Jills alumni as well as the 2011 Buffalo Bandettes!!
Instead of having a Jr Jills performance at the preseason game in Toronto, the Jills went a different route and had the Toronto Argonauts cheerleaders join them in a somewhat similar fashion to the combined performance the Jills and Titans cheerleaders put on in Canton last summer. They haven't forgotten about the youth in Toronto, though. The Bills in Toronto series features the Bears on November 7th and the Jills are inviting young ladies in the Toronto area ages 7-17 the chance to perform as Jr Jills for that game. Registration is due by October 18th and mandatory practice dates are November 4th and 5th at the Rogers Centre from 6-9pm both evenings. Get all the details as well as registration form at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1867404&spid=34534
The Bills in Toronto series was the setting as the Bills faced off against the Colts in a preseason contest last Thursday night. Some big TDs from CJ Spiller, Lee Evans, Terence McGee, and Joique Bell helped propel the Bills past the reigning AFC Champions by a score of 34-21.
The 2010 Buffalo Jills made their gameday debut at the Rogers Centre and added an extra twist. Last year, their first gameday appearance was at the Hall of Fame game which also included the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders and the two squads put together two of their own performances that merged into one. This year, the Jills were joined by the Toronto Argos Cheerleaders for their halftime performance.
The Jills make their home debut this Saturday night as the Bills host Terrel Owens, Chad Ochocinco, and the Cincinnati Bengals in the annual Kid's Day game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Kickoff is at 6:30 with the lots open at 1:30. Make sure to show up early for the Kid's Day activities in the Kid's Zone in front of the stadium with games, clowns, face painting, Billy Buffalo, and the Buffalo Jills ambassador squad. The Kid's Zone will be going on from 3-6pm.
While the Bills are playing a few games up in Toronto (only 5 more over the next 3 years), the Jills are a small part of the experience up there. In 2010 and 2012, the Bills, like in 2008, are playing a preseason game at the Rogers Centre in addition to the regular season game. This year's home preseason game is the Kid's Day game on August 28th at the Ralph. A big part of that Kid's Day game is the Jr Jills, who perform with the Jills in pregame. Registration is closed for the Jr Jills program this year with uniform fittings complete and mandatory workshops starting up this weekend.
However, the Jills are expanding the Jr Jills program this season to include the Toronto game so that other young ladies can get involved. Workshops are August 16 and 17 from 7-9pm at the Rogers Centre with the game on the 19th. Registration and payment are due by August 2nd for the program and you can get full details at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1865591&spid=34534
Last year, the Bills started an 8-game series of games in which they held some of their home games not at home in Ralph Wilson Stadium, but in the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The reasoning for the Bills In Toronto Series is to lure some big money corporations to buy up luxury boxes in Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills don't generally have a problem selling out games, even in the midst of a now 10-season playoff absence. Western NYers are well-known for their love of their sports teams. The Bills went 6 years leading the league in attendance during their Super Bowl run. The Buffalo Sabres have high attendance at all of their games and the Buffalo Bandits are annually among the leaders in attendance in the NLL. The only problem is the lack of big money corporations to buy luxury boxes and other premium seating. That's the hope of the Bills in Toronto series...to help draw the big money corporations down to Orchard Park, so that the Bills can afford to compete with the large market teams of the NFL when it comes to signing bonuses and expenditures not covered by the league's salary cap.
The whole idea is to give those big money people a taste of what the Bills have to offer and in all honesty, the Rogers Centre is ill-suited for that. People are paying premium prices for poor seating where the sightlines aren't suited for the NFL. In Ralph Wilson Stadium, there are great sightlines all over the stadium. There's also the lack of tailgating, something that Buffalo is known for. Buffalo, Green Bay, and Kansas City are always the top 3 NFL cities in regards to their tailgating. True tailgating has nothing to do with excessive alcohol consumption but everything to do with the feeling of community in the parking lots around the stadium as fans grill up their dinners and share with fellow tailgaters. Toronto doesn't allow tailgating, which detracts from the gameday experience. The Rogers Centre setup even affects the cheerleaders as well and not in a positive way. As anyone who's watched NFL cheerleaders a lot knows, there are 8 spots around the sidelines that each squad of cheerleaders perform during the game. Besides being stationed at each 10-yard line during the game, each squad also spends some time dancing in the end zone areas and the organizers at the Rogers Centre made one mistake when it comes to seating that prevented the Jills from dancing in the scoreboard endzone area by placing bleachers only a few yards away from the endzone. That deprived the fans in that endzone of seeing the Jills up close and they couldn't even look up behind them on the scoreboard and see them there because of the fact that it's placed above but in front of the endzone seating. In this blogger's opinion, a better way to sell these luxury boxes is a lot easier than moving games and upsetting the loyal fan base. Simply set aside a few luxury boxes that aren't selling for the purpose of giving these large corporations a taste of a real gameday experience. The luxury boxes are contracted for a period of a few years as it is. If there are some that aren't selling for a few years, sell them for individual games. Maybe those corporate types would be more inclined to buy luxury boxes if they saw what a real gameday experience was about...because they certainly aren't seeing it in the Rogers Centre atmosphere. Hopefully though, this Toronto series can help draw Canadian corporations to Buffalo. If nothing else, the wealthy people in Toronto buying up these tickets are hearing what a great experience a real Bills home game is from the fans who either already make the drive down to the Ralph on a regular basis or the diehards that make the trip up to Toronto.
Now that I'm done with that part, the game itself was nothing that Bills fans want to remember, and the poor sightlines at the Rogers Centre may have almost been a blessing for the Bills fans that made the trek to Toronto to see their team play in a neutral site alongside Jets fans as well as fans of the NFL in general. Before the game however, fans got a chance to meet one of the Bills all-time greats when HOF RB Thurman Thomas put in an appearance at the Budweiser Tailgate Party and, as well as signing autographs and posing for pictures, gave one lucky fan a ticket to the game....to sit with Thurman himself.
There was someone else at that Budweiser tailgate party that fans were happy to see as well, though. Keisha, Alyssa, Kristen, and Lindsay of the Buffalo Jills Ambassador Squad spent a few hours mingling with the fans as well as posing for pictures and signing autographs. They even sold a number of their smoking hot Swimsuit Calendar as well which features 41 beautiful ladies in some very sexy swimwear. To add to that, Omarlla, Eileen, Christina, Valerie, Jessica, and Lynn put in an appearance for photos and autographs and put on a performance on stage, showing off not only their beauty, but their dance moves for the hundreds of fans in attendance. When gametime came, the lovely Amanda delivered the game ball before joining with Alyssa to accompany Billy Buffalo on promotional visits around the stadium. Meanwhile, Omarlla, Eileen, and Christina led their squads around the stadium and put on a pair of big performances in the non-scoreboard endzone, where they had room to perform.
Coming up next for the Jills, some of the squad will be at Snowpark Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY Saturday from 10-1 in an event to benefit the Breast Cancer Association. Don't forget to tune into 103.3 The Edge Wednesday morning from 7:30-8:30 to talk to Bull and one of the Jills for an hour-long interview. The Bills are back on the road in Kansas City on Dec 13th as they try to improve on their 4-8 record and the best place to watch the game is the Aud Sports Bar in Depew. Wing and drink specials, a halftime buffet, and the largest prize table in Western NY are only a part of the draw as the event features a pair of the beautiful Buffalo Jills in attendance.
The Bills this year have kicked off a series of games in Toronto meant to help lure corporate dollars down to Orchard Park for the real Bills home games at Ralph Wilson Stadium. As a part of that series, Buffalo beauties, the Buffalo Jills, were on hand for the game and pregame just as they are for any regular game at the Ralph. Unfortunately, another part of the series is highly inflated ticket prices that most blue collar fans can't afford. While I myself wasn't able to attend this game, we aren't going to be deprived of photography of our Buffalo Jills. Lynnie Burak of BuffaloRange.com Bills message boards was on the scene and snapped some photos from the upper deck at the Rogers Centre for us.
Up next for the Jills, we'll have a pair at Rhino's Rock Bar in Orchard Park each of the next two weeks for the first half of each game for the 103.3 The Edge Awaay Game Parties. The Jills next take the field on December 28th at Ralph Wilson Stadium as the Bills finish out the season against the hated New England Patriots. While making the game to see the Buffalo Jills is certainly a great idea, it won't be the last time to see the 2008 squad this season as the Jills are invading Club Paradise on January 16th for the Jills Adult Comedy Show. Stay tuned for further information, including tickets.
The Buffalo Jills cheerleaders visited the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday to help promote the historic Bills vs. Dolphins game at the Rogers Centre to take place on December 7, 2008.
The Jills kicked-off the Toronto Blue Jays baseball game with an official let’s play ball announcement, posed for photos with Ace (Blue Jays mascot), took part in a t-shirt toss with the J Force and took to the field to lead the fans in the 7th inning stretch.
As many already know, the Bills are sending 8 of their home games to Toronto over the next 5 seasons in an effort to attract more premium seat holders from the Toronto market to come down to Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park. The first of these games was a preseason tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. The Bills came out on top in the matchup thanks to a pair of Edwards-to-Royal touchdowns and a 95-yard kickoff return by rookie CB Leodis McKelvin.
The Toronto experience, according to many diehard fans who made the trek, was rather lacking due to things like cost and the lack of a real football atmosphere. However, one aspect that wasn't lacking was the appearance of the Buffalo Jills. 48 young women make up the squad this year with 23 rookies joining 25 vets and fans were snapping photos of the First Ladies of Buffalo Wednesday night and Thursday before and during the game. I myself wasn't able to make the trek due mostly to a lack of enough vacation time but a friend of mine, the founder of BuffaloBillsInsider, was on hand and took a few pics of the beautiful Jills, including a pic before the game posing with Amelina, Dr. Amanda, Jackie, and Alecia.
The eight-game series of Buffalo Bills games in Toronto will officially begin with a free football festival and concert called the Samsung Bills Toronto Kickoff Party.
