More Jills photos and a few reminders
The Jills Congratulatory Party a week and a half ago had another photographer on hand. BuffaloSpotted sent one of their photographers to the event and put up a group of photos that can be found at http://buffalo.myspotted.com/galleries/index.php?id=320333
Last week, Bills players Lee Evans, Jon Corto, and Brad Butler were at Riverside Park to present a $50K grant to help refurbish the athletic fields that are used for, among other things, Little League Football. The whole story can be found at http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/butler-corto-evans-visit-riverside/d1811b96-acfe-434b-b685-ada8fbbf64c5 Lynn and Ruby of the Buffalo Jills were on hand as well and they, along with the players, posed for photos and signed autographs for the people who attended the presentation. You can find these photos at http://buffalo.myspotted.com/galleries/index.php?id=320388
Also, we have a few appearances to remind you about. Currently, the bulk of the squad is in the Bahamas shooting their 2009-2010 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar, which should be available to the public in late July-early August. They will be back home later in the week and some of the Jills will at Buck's Motorsports in Akron from noon to 5 this Saturday as part of a benefit for Mercy Flight. They'll be there washing cars and motorcycles and posing for pictures and signing autographs as well. You can get further details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=24 and read about the valuable service that Mercy Flight provides Western NY at http://www.mercyflight.org/
June 13th has 2 events in total. The first event actually takes place the entire weekend of the 13th and 14th. The Strawberry Festival is being hosted once again by Merritt Estate Winery and features live entertainment, great food, wine, beer and their FAMOUS Sangria Wine Slush! The Jills will be appearing both days of the event for autographs and photos. The event annually raises money for different charities through various auction items including dinner with Ruben Brown, Rob Ray, or CW23's beautiful Lydia! You can read more about the event at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=25 and at http://www.merrittestatewinery.com/page/53/calendar.aspx
The evening of June 13th is Buffalo's Biggest 80's Bash from 8pm to midnight at the Buffalo Convention Center. Tickets are still available for this event which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event includes 80s music, some celebrity appearances, and a hot 80s style dance routine by members of the Buffalo Jills among other things. Check out more about the event at http://www.80sbash.com/
Finally, it's not too late to make sure your schedule is free for July 20th as the Jills 7th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster, NY. The $125 per person fee includes lunch, dinner, 18 holes of golf, use of golf carts for your 4some, and entertainment courtesy the Buffalo Jills! There are also raffles available, a poker run, and you can even bid to have one of the lovely Buffalo Jills accompany you on the course for the day. Buffalo Jill of The Week Lynn

Beyond that, Lynn is a very outgoing and independent young woman which makes sense. Lynn waited until she finished college to join the Jills, which has made things a lot easier for her to juggle things in her life so that she can make all the practices and appearances required as a Buffalo Jill. As far as the outgoing part, she was one of the Jills who participated as a bartender at Bayou for the Jills guest bartender night and she fit right in with the zany antics of Valerie, Danielle, Alecia, and Lisa. Buffalo Jills and Bandettes Photos of The Week
This week, both of our Jills photos come from the recent Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament where 44 of the 48 2008-09 Buffalo Jills were in attendance. The first pic, taken before the golfers started showing up, features a pair of our beautiful new rookies. As Buffalo Jills, the girls need to be smiling as much as possible while on the sidelines and Ashley, on the left, is constantly smiling as it is. Dana was showing us her smile before any of the rookies as she was one of the prospective Jills who we were introduced to at the Jills Open Workshop when she showed up with veterans Jess L and Stephanie Bu.

Our second shot, taken shortly before everyone went out on the course, features rookie Lynn and 2nd year vet Jill R. Lynn will be flashing us her smile all season long from Jamie and Eileen's line and anyone paying close attention to the pictures the last few years knows that Jamie has her line getting group shots quite frequently. Jill R spends her gamedays as a part of the Jills Ambassador Squad and we'll see her at tailgate parties with 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge as well as in the Fieldhouse before games as well as with Billy Buffalo during a game on occasion.

Our Bandettes photo this week is another one from the post-game party at Pearl Street Grill and Brewery following the Buffalo Bandits Championship win this past May. This picture features rookie Justina and 5th year vets Kimberly and Erin H. Justina is a girl who's gonna have to stick with the Bandettes for many years to come. She made a proclamation at the post-game party that she must be a good luck charm for the Bandits. Kimberly is one of the most popular of the Bandettes going by fan reactions on the NLL Message boards. They created 2 sigs dedicated to her and another one that featured her and 2 of her squadmates. Erin H has been a captain for 3 of her 5 seasons and showed off her crowd control abilities as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the pregame festivities prior to the East Finals of the NLL Playoffs this past May.

Buffalo Jills and Bandettes Photos of The Week
Once again we take a look at a photo from the Jills Congratulatory Party as our first photo. This one was taken after 97Rock's DJ Jickster brought all the rookies out in front of the stage and had a few of the rookies answer some Bills trivia questions. Here we see Lonna, Lynn, and Murissa waiting for a question while Alison, seen twirling her hair in an effort to fluster poor Jickster, is about to answer the question posed to her. Not seen in this photo are the other 2 rookies were were chosen for this trivia questiona-and-answer session, Stephanie Br and Kristin B.

Our second pic is, once again, from last year's Jills Golf Tournament (this year's is coming up on the 21st!). This pic was taken after the actual tournament while the golfers were returning to the clubhouse for dinner, entertainment, and the raffle. Seen here is the director's husband Jon posing with 4 members of the Jills Ambassador Squad. From left to right are Vincenza, Amanda F, Katherine, and Danielle. A word of advice to anyone who'll be golfing at Fox Valley on Monday in the tournament. If your golf party is just ahead of Jon's and they're catching up to you, don't waste your time asking the Jills to distract him to slow him down. As Katie K told a golfer who asked that 2 years ago, "He's immune to us being able to distract him." LOL

This week, our Bandettes photo is actually from a road game. The Buffalo-Rochester rivalry in the NLL is an intense one for a few different reasons. Some players have played for both teams, they face off in the playoffs quite frequently it seems, and obviously the proximity to one another is a big factor as well. Due in part to this proximity, some Knightingales cheerleaders come to Buffalo when the teams face off and likewise, our Buffalo Bandettes have a group going to Rochester quite regularly. In this April's matchup in Rochester, the stands boasted 3 of the Buffalo Bandettes. While the quantity was small, the quality was large as the 3 that went were fan favorite Sarah and co-captains Meghan and Melissa.
