Buffalo Jill of The Week Alyssa B

This week, we finish up the 2012-13 Buffalo Jill of The Week series with the Calendar Covergirl Alyssa B. Retiring after the 2012 season, Alyssa joined the squad alongside two of her closest friends, Nicole and Kristen, from college and they all made a significant impact on the Ambassador Squad their rookie year as the Three Musketeers. After a season, Kristen and Nicole switched to dance but Alyssa stayed with the Ambassador Squad not because she lacked dancing ability but because she felt her biggest strength was how well she got along with people. Truth be told, that's a strength a lot of people have seen in her as well. As an ambassador, they're expected to be able to hold conversations with fans on a variety of topics, but Alyssa went one better during much of her career. She was not only receptive to talking with fans, she regularly went out of her way to do so and generally has a personality that anyone can gravitate toward. Even when a pair of squadmates couldn't get along themselves, Alyssa got along great with each of them and she was always one of those I always found the easiest to talk to as well. Her willingness to help others landed her in Laura's webseries about dating last year. But besides her sweet and helpful side, she has a goofy side as well and one of her former squadmates even compiled a list of some of the goofy things she's done or said. You can read more about Alyssa in the files section of the webgroup. Alyssa's secondary photo comes from last year's 1st cuts when girls were still coming in to register and get headshots taken. Shown posing for the camera are Alyssa and Courteney. While Alyssa's closest bonds were with Nicole and Kristen when 1st joining the Jills, she spent more time with Courteney, a fellow 2009 rookie classmate who also spent all 4 of her seasons on the Ambassador Squad.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the Bandits-Wings game back in January. Prior to going out for their halftime performance, a few of the girls posed for photos. Shown posing for this photo are LB and MaKenzie.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Alyssa

This week, we take a look at 3rd year vet Alyssa as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Alyssa is an award-winning Ambassador on the squad having won rookie of the year in 2009 and Outstanding Ambassador in 2010. A recent college graduate, she wasn't even sure she'd be able to return to the squad this year depending on her job situation. Thankfully, she's one of Western NY's college grads staying home after landing a job at a local company. Part of a group of 3 close friends who tried out together in 2009 dubbed the 3 Musketeers, Alyssa is the only one remaining on the Ambassador Squad with Nicole dancing and Kristen retiring after last season. Alyssa describes herself as a people person and loves getting to interact with the fans on gamedays and at events and appearances. Those aren't just words, either. I've noticed her repeatedly going out of her way to talk to fans the past couple of years that I've known her. She's obviously someone no guy would avoid talking to with her beauty but when you get to know her, you easily see why squadmates and other friends know her more for her warm and fun personality than anything else. There's one example of her warmth that comes to mind in which she did something for a friend that meant a lot...I can't say anything specific about that on here but trust me when I say what Alyssa did spoke a lot about what kind of a person she is. As far as her fun personality, one thing her squadmates think of is some of the silly things she says. In her rookie year, she had so many Alyssa-isms that Amanda F even made a list!! You can read more about Alyssa at http://www.buffalojills.net/article.asp?id=1961012 Alyssa's secondary photo is from the 9th Annual Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament and was taken while the golfers were coming in from the course for dinner. Shown posing for a photo are the last two remaining members of the 3 Musketeers, Nicole and Alyssa.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Alyssa

This week, we take a look at award-winning Ambassador Alyssa as our Jill of The Week. I say award-winning because she's won a big year-end award in each of her 2 seasons on the Jills. In her rookie season, she won the rookie Ambassador of The Year award and then topped that off with the Most Outstanding Ambassador Jill award after the 2010 season. The fact that she won these is no surprise to anyone that knows her. Personally, I'm just interested in seeing how she tops herself in 2011. Besides her obvious beauty, she's known for her sweet and caring personality and loves meeting new people. She thinks of herself as a people person and for that reason, had no desire to switch to dance when her two closest friends did in 2010. Alyssa, Kristen, and Nicole have been best of friends since their freshman year of college and are all close to graduating. The 3 Musketeers joined the Jills as Ambassadors in 2009 and although Kristen and Nicole switched to dance in 2010, Alyssa stuck with the Ambassador Squad because she loves meeting new people as much as she gets to as an Ambassador. It certainly isn't from a lack of dancing ability as she even showed that off early in her rookie season when she, Kelly, and Loren put together an impromptu routine for Tailgate Warriors. Alyssa's secondary pic comes from last summer's Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament held at Westwood Country Club. Shown smiling for the camera are the 3 Musketeers, Kristen, Alyssa, and Nicole. This year's Jills Golf Tourney will be held at Westwood Country Club on August 1st. Stay tuned to the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog for ticket info when it becomes available.

The Jills at the 2nd Annual BBQ and Blues Bash

Friday evening, Buffalo's Cobblestone District was the setting as the Gateway-Longview family service organization put together their 2nd Annual BBQ and Blues Bash as a fundraiser for their non-profit organization. On hand to meet, take pictures with, and sign autographs for the fans were members of the Buffalo Jills as well as 3 players from the Buffalo Bills. 2nd year veteran Ambassadors Lindsay and Alyssa joined rookies Meghan and Morgan in selling Chinese auction tickets as well, with prizes donated from the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. Learn more about Gateway-Longview at www.gateway-longview.org and see the pics at http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2010/BBQ%20Bash/

Coming up next for the Jills, you can meet some at Buffalo's Biggest 80s Bash on Saturday, June 26 at Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster where some of the girls will not only be mingling with the crowd but performing as well. Check out all the details at http://www.80sbash.com/

Buffalo Jill of The Week Alyssa

This week, our Jill of The Week is now 2nd year vet Alyssa. Alyssa came into her rookie season on the Jills Ambassador Squad with 2 of her closest friends, Nicole and Kristen, and they became known as the 3 Musketeers. Alyssa is the last one remaining of the 3...on the ambassador squad, that is as her 2 partners-in-crime have both switched over to the dance squad for 2010. While she'll still be spending lots of time with them, as an ambassador, she won't get to much on gamedays. It's certainly nothing for her to worry about...she's a girl everyone loves spending time with...and that goes far beyond guys drawn in by her beauty. She has a guy of her own anyway. But Alyssa's greatest attribute is her personality. She's very warm and giving as well as a little bit silly at times. Her squadmates have great fun in keeping track of some of the silly things she does or says. She's also really enjoying not only the experiences she's had so far as a Jill, but loves getting recognition for them, including her year-end Ambassador Rookie of The Year award that she got at the Jills' post season banquet. And as far as loving the recognition, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she had this date circled on her calendar months ago. You can read more about Alyssa in the webgroup's files section where a copy of her 2009 bio will be for the next week.

The Jills at the Jets Away Game festivities

The Bills ended their 3-game losing skid on Sunday with a 16-13 OT win in the Meadowlands against the NY Jets and as much as fans across Western NY were complaining they were giving up on the season or even the team, you couldn't tell it from the attendance at the Edge Away Game Party at the Aud Sports Bar and Grill in Depew as the venue was standing room-only by the time the Bills kicked off to the Jets.
Once again, 103.3 The Edge is putting on Away Game parties for all the Bills road games and this year, the Aud Sports Bar is the place with 40-cent wings, Bud and Labatt specials, a halftime buffet, and James giving away prizes all game long. Also, like last year's parties, when the Bills score, you can put in an entry to win a TV...but they upgraded. Last year was a 42-inch flat screen while this year's screen comes in at 47 inches. The best part of the event is the company, though. Besides plenty of devoted Bills fans, a pair of Jills is there for a part of every game and this week, 3rd year vet Vincenza was joined by rookie Ambassador Alyssa as they watched the game with the fans, posed for pictures, signed autographs, and sold a few calendars as well.

But maybe you'd like a more laid-back atmosphere to watch the game but still want some beautiful women around. Sole Restaurant in the Walker Center in Williamsville featured 3rd year vet Amanda behind the bar for the game and looking every bit as stunning behind the bar as she looks in uniform at the games.
http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2009/Jets-Road/
Next week, the Bills are on the road in Carolina so if you didn't make it out to the Aud or Sole this week, here's another chance right away with a 4:05 kickoff against the Panthers.
There's plenty more coming up as well before the Jills next take the field when the Bills play host to the Houston Texans on November 1st.
On October 26th, they'll be appearing at a Celebrity Wine-Tasting event for Brian Moorman's PUNT Foundation at Asbury Hall in Buffalo. Get all the details at http://www.brianmoorman.org/wine_pairing09.php
On October 31st, you can meet some of the Jills as you bring the kids to Safe & Seen Halloween at ECC's North Campus in Williamsville. Get all the details at http://www.safeandseenhalloween.com

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week!

Continuing our look at the beautiful rookies who will be gracing the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium this fall, we have a photo from the recent Kid's Day preseason game.
Prior to the game, Food Network filmed a special starring Guy Fieri on tailgating. Obviously, no tailgating show would be complete without the Commissioner of Tailgating, Joe Cahn. Here we see him posing with Jills rookies Kelly, Loren, and Alyssa. Kelly and Loren are both dancers, Kelly on Omarlla's line and Loren cheering on Nicole's line. Alyssa is an ambassador but she still has some dance moves. One of the segments filmed was a feature on the CBNG Tailgate and these 3 young ladies put together an impromptu cheer and dance for CBNG and if we're lucky, we'll see the finished product on TV when the special airs on Food Network on October 17th.

From the Bandettes, we have a photo from the matchup against the Portland Lumberjax in their last ever appearance at HSBC Arena after that team unfortunately ceased operations recently. Prior to the home games, after their posters are released, the Bandettes spend about an hour signing those posters as well as other Bandits gear for the fans. While waiting for the next fan to reach them, we see Jessica and Karla mugging for the camera. Jessica was in her 2nd season on the squad after 4 years in the US Navy. Karla was in her 2nd season BACK on the squad after taking 2 years off following 5 seasons on the Bandettes.

One of Buffalo's signature events, it features food and drink from 60 restaurants and 6 wineries from Western NY and appearances by the Buffalo Jills. Be sure to bring your camera and an appetite as the Jills will be posing for photos, signing autographs, and handing out Bills schedules while you're trying out all the different foods from the region.

Bike Wash for Mercy Flight

Mercy Flight WNY is an independent, not-for-profit provider of emergency air medical transport. With 5 helicopters based in WNY, they've flown more than 17,000 patient missions since their inception 28 years ago. Independent of any one hospital, they deliver patients to the facility that best suits the patient's needs as far as hospital capabilities and location. Being an independent not-for-profit organization, their funding comes primarily from donations raised through charity fundraisers. This weekend, Buck's Motorsports of Akron, NY has a big promotion going on with their motorcycles and used that opportunity to stage a fundraiser for Mercy Flight. Buck's donated a new bike to be raffled off and members of the Buffalo Jills were on hand for a bike wash on Saturday, washing customers' motorcycles for a donation to Mercy Flight. With sunny weather in the 60s, it was a bit chilly for bikinis, but Amanda, Courteney, Katy, Jess, Alyssa, and Nicole L looked incredibly hot in their tops and Daisy Dukes as they washed bikes and posed for pictures with the bikes and, in most cases, the bike owners. When things died down, Jess and Nicole L took a tour of Buck's Motorsports to check out the bikes on sale and pose for a few pictures.
Coming up next for the Jills, the squad will be busy the weekend of the 13th and 14th as members of the squad will be on hand most of the weekend at the 29th Annual Strawberry Festival at Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville. This event will be a fundraiser for Ruben's Run, part of the charitable foundation set up by former Bills All-Pro Ruben Brown complete with auctions, photo ops, and lots of wine tasting. http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=25
The evening of the 13th, some of the Jills will be on hand taking photos and signing autographs at Buffalo's Biggest 80s Bash to be held at the Buffalo Convention Center. The girls on hand won't be stopping with that, though as they'll have a hot 80s style dance performance to put on for the event, an event that benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. http://www.80sbash.com/
After that, don't forget the Taste of Buffalo the weekend of July 11th and 12th. One of the Nation's Largest Food Festivals features appearances by members of the Buffalo Jills both afternoons of the event. http://www.tasteofbuffalo.com/
Last but far from least, the 7th Annual Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament takes place on July 20th at Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster, NY. $125 buys you a round of 18 holes, lunch, dinner, use of golf carts by your group, and entertainment by the Buffalo Jills in the form of some hot dance routines at dinner. There are also raffles and games available as well as the chance to bid on having one of the beautiful Jills accompany your group around the course for the day. For details on ordering your tickets, go to http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=9
