Buffalo Jill of The Week Ayeshia

In Arabic, the name Ayeshia means alive and our Jill of The Week certainly fits that description. She's been dancing since 1995 and is constantly striving to be her very best in everything she does, whether it be dance, work, or school. She's already completed her degree but has plans to go back to further her education in the pharmaceutical field. On gamedays, this rookie dancer can be seen on Aimee's line between Valerie and Autumn and is loving every minute of it. She says that one of her biggest qualities is how outgoing she is and this is an aspect of her personality that's come out a lot more since she joined the Jills. It's not that she wasn't outgoing or that she was painfully shy beforehand but if one were to have met her in the spring and then see what she's like now, the difference seems rather noticeable. You can read more about Ayeshia at http://buffalojills.net/bios/ayeshia.html

NLL Season back on!

The National Lacrosse League has announced the reaching of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Professional Lacrosse Player's Association. The agreement is a seven-year term that begins in 2008 and run through the 2014 season. The agreement marks the longest labor deal in the 22-year history of professional indoor lacrosse. The league's previous three-year agreement with the PLPA expired following the 2007 season.
A new 2008 schedule will be released next week.
Stay tuned for further developments as in Bandettes tryouts!

Ravens game pictures

Coming back from their bye week, the Buffalo Bills did the opposite of what they've been doing all year. They held off a late comeback attempt by the Ravens and hated ex-teammate Willis Mcgahee in an exciting matchup in Buffalo. The excitement, of course, wasn't limited to game action as the Jills continue to prove that the beauty of Buffalo women is impossible to ignore. The beauties on the sidelines sported pink ribbons and pom-poms as a part of a breast cancer awareness campaign and kept the crowd going all day long with not only beauty, but their dancing and cheering skills. And prior to the game, fans of the Bills and Ravens alike lined up to get their pictures taken with members of the Jills Ambassador Squad and purchase swimsuit calendars so they can see these beauties every day through the end of 2008. Coming up next is a game against the Bengals and Jills fan Ocho Cinco who gave mad props to Aimee and Omarlla in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs Competition.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kaitlin V

This week, we take a look at another one of our rookies on the squad. Kaitlin V spends her gamedays as a part of the Jills Ambassador Squad and the fact that she's not a dancer has nothing to do with her dance ability. She cheered for 12 years prior to the Jills, including 2 years on an all-star squad. Despite the fact that she's a busy young lady, she's rarely seen without a smile. Even suffering some serious exposure from the sun on Kids Day didn't phase her. Considering she says one of her main attributes is her strength, I guess that makes sense. And no, that doesn't mean she's some sort of body builder...she's definitely very feminine. You can read more about Kaitlin at http://buffalojills.net/bios/kaitlinv.html

Bandettes tryouts cancelled

It's now official...with the cancellation of the 2008 NLL season, Bandettes tryouts, originally scheduled for this weekend, have been cancelled. There will be some appearances in the coming months featuring the 2007 Bandettes squad, however. So stay tuned for any info on that.

NLL Season cancelled

For anyone not following the NLL's CBA talks, they had til midnight Monday night to ratify a new agreement and they didn't. The NLL then made the decision to cancel the 2008 season so unfortunately we won't get to see the Bandettes take the field this spring. I would imagine that Bandettes tryouts, scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, will likely be cancelled as well but I'm waiting to hear official word on that from the Bandettes head coach. Stay Tuned.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Lisa

This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Lisa. On gamedays, you can find her anchoring one end of Jamie's line next to Kaitlin and has been cheering since the age of 4! We often hear about girls dancing at an early age, but it seems to be a rarity that they're actually waving pom-poms at such an age. She's danced as well and that, combined with the cheering, helped her win three national titles as a member of an All-Star Cheerleading Team. Nowadays, besides spending Sundays on the sidelines at the Ralph and working on her degree, she coaches a high school varsity cheerleading squad. So in another year or two, she could wind up cheering alongside someone she coached. You can read more about Lisa at http://buffalojills.net/bios/lisa.html

MNF pics

After 13 years, Monday Night Football returned to Buffalo in grand style. Unfortunately for Bills fans, despite the best efforts of the defense, special teams, the 12th man, and the Buffalo Jills, the offense still found a way to cost the team the game. While the team itself came up short in their upset bid over the hated Cowboys, the 12th man and the Buffalo Jills came out ahead in showing the nation how much they deserved a Super Bowl Champion team. Attached are a few photos from the evening. Unfortunately, the night game limited the number of high quality shots but rest assured, for those who weren't in attendance, the Jills were more than on top of their game. Coming up next for the Jills is a game against Willis McGahee and the Ravens. However, stay tuned for info on a Jills event that weekend featuring some guests...from the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders.

Comedy Show pics

Club Paradise in Blasdell was the scene for the Jills Adult Comedy Show on Friday night and a full house enjoyed the comedic stylings of, among others, 97Rock's own Rob Lederman. A Chinese auction was held with prizes donated by various Jills sponsors and a quartet of recently departed Jills (Mickey, Korinne, Kristine L, and Tamara) were on hand to support their former squadmates. Of course no Jills event is complete without a dance performance or two and in addition to a performance by Nicole, Omarlla, Eileen, Katie K, and Aimee, audience members received a special treat. Jamie and Christina put on another dance performance with their choreographer Kelli. Of course, the videos are a pale imitation of seeing them all perform in person. Coming up next is a full day on MNF with a few Jills appearing at Duff's in Orchard Park and then a chance to see some of the Jills in the fieldhouse and at the 97Rock, 103.3 The Edge, and Coors Light-Molson Canadian Tailgate Parties. Stay tuned for info on a joint event with the Ravens cheerleaders.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Nicole

This week, we take a look at last year's swimsuit calendar covergirl, Nicole P. This is her fourth year on the squad and is once again a co-captain, this year assisting Jamie after a season on Aimee's line. Besides the obvious about Nicole, like her dancing and beauty, there's more about her that's not as obvious to those who don't know her. She's fluent in Spanish and plans to teach the language in the near future. And, if all goes according to plan, she may be able to also teach Italian if needed, something that will only help expand her marketability as a foreign languages teacher. Beyond that, she was selected as a participant in ¿Qué Dice La Gente?, a spanish-speaking gameshow similar to Family Feud aired on TeleFutura (431 on DirecTV). This was part of a special episode featuring NFL Cheerleaders. You can read more about Nicole at http://buffalojills.net/bios/nicolep.html

Big weekend coming up

This looks to be a busy weekend for Jills fans.
First off is the Jills Comedy Show taking place Friday night at 8 (doors open at 7) at Club Paradise in the Clarion Hotel in Blasdell, NY at 3950 McKinley Parkway. It's just down the street from the McKinley Mall and less than 2 miles from the Ralph.
On Monday, from 9am to 1pm, 103.3 The Edge will be at Duff's in Orchard Park at 3090 Orchard Park Rd and they'll have a few of the Jills with them in celebration of Buffalo's return to hosting Monday Night Football!
Following that is the main event...Monday Night Football itself. Lots open at 3:30. By 5:30 you can expect to find the Jills Ambassador Squad stationed in the Fieldhouse as well as at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge tailgate parties. Then of course is the game in which we can expect the Jills to put on a few big performances as well as the normal sideline routines we've all come to know and love.

Jets Game pictures

September ended in Buffalo on a great note. The Buffalo Bills got their first win of the season behind some big plays on defense and solid play-calling (for a change) and execution by the offense, including rookie QB Trent Edwards. Not to be outdone, the Buffalo Jills were also in great form all day. Whether it be selling calendars and comedy show tickets like wildfire in pregame tailgates, showing off their dance abilities during the game, or just plain looking beautiful, the Jills showed once again why their popularity around the league is continuing to rise. Added to their uniforms was a pin with the number 85, in honor of injured Bills TE Kevin Everett, who's in Houston recovering from a life-threatening spinal cord injury suffered at the home opener. Coming up next is the Jills Comedy Show at Club Paradise Friday night and then a return to game action on the 8th as the Bills and Jills host Monday Night Football for the first time since 1994.
