Buffalo Jill of The Week Dana

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Dana as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. One of the captains of the Ambassador Squad, along with Ashley C, she's a special ed teacher in the Buffalo area and couldn't love the job any more than she already does. She's pretty much always wearing a smile, and this didn't just start when she joined the squad as she was already close friends with the 3 Musketeers Alyssa, Nicole, and Kristen before she joined the Jills. So even before she joined, I had heard a bit about her through them. She describes herself as outgoing, friendly, and compassionate and from what I've seen, both in her actions since joining the squad, and in what I'd heard about her before she joined, those aren't just words filled out on a form. People who know her just can't say a bad thing about her unless they have an issue with her being a neat freak. Even her credit card provider must love her as she confesses to being a shopping addict so odds are she's putting her credit cards to work and not just letting them collect dust...lol. See all her pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56376 Dana's secondary photo comes from the Bengals game where she and Kaeleigh were handling promotions for the game. Taken at halftime, this picture features Kaeleigh and Dana posing for the camera in the tunnel area.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jennifer G

This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Jennifer G as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. California-educated, Jennifer has her MBA from UC-Berkeley in Urban Planning and is hoping to one day to help cities around the world host huge events like the Olympics. For now, I'm sure she would be a great asset in the development on Buffalo's Outer Harbor. With the talk of a possible new stadium for the Bills closer to the city once the current lease is up, maybe she'd be a big part of that planning as well once the Bills start doing a study on it. A Jill in 2013 could be working for the Bills in 2019 or sooner. Besides her career goals, she's also hoping to run a Tough Mudder one of these days and considering she keeps a workout calendar on her fridge, her only obstacle will be in finding the time. Unfortunately, I've yet to see her in the stadium or get a photo but you can find out more about her at http://www.buffalojills.com/profile.php?PID=125
Our secondary photo, since we have yet to get any of Jennifer, is of Christina's line in the 4th quarter at the Bills-Jets game. They were getting set to dance to Shout!

The Jills at the Bills-Jets Game

Coming off a 3-game losing streak, the Bills returned home to Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday to face off against the Jets in a division rematch. EJ Manuel's return to action the previous week didn't go well last week as the rookie signal-caller struggled mightily with his timing and footwork. The funny thing about rust is that it can be shaken off and with the running game uncharacteristically struggling against the Jets, the defense and the passing game combined to deliver a 37-14 win over the team from New Jersey.

With Veteran's Day just passed, the Bills designated this game as a Military Appreciation game with reps from all 5 branches on the field for pregame as well as a field-sized flag for the National Anthem. In addition, the Jills got into the act as they made a costume change in the 3rd quarter and came out to perform a military-themed 3rd quarter break routine put together by Jills choreographer Kelli Wagner, who's already putting one together for the Toronto game with the Beach Boys.

Next up, after the Bills take a week off, the Bills and Jills head to Toronto to "host" the Atlanta Falcons at the Rogers Centre on December 1st. Joining the Jills in a halftime performance will be the Beach Boys and Kelli Wagner is sure to have a great performance lined up.
Getting your Jills fix before then won't be that difficult as one special Jills alum will be getting some primetime exposure. Tonight, the New England Patriots head to Carolina to face the Panthers and reigning TopCat rookie of the year Ashley W spent 2008-09 as a Buffalo Jill. So tune in tonight to ESPN and keep an eye out for that familiar red haired beauty.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Melissa B

This week, our Buffalo Jill of The Week isn't your typical rookie. She actually came to the Jills after already performing in the pros, as a member of the 2012 Buffalo Bandettes. She started off her career as a Jill dancing on Emily's line between Jenny and Alyssa K but switched to the Ambassador squad early in the regular season. Melissa B is a dance teacher and choreographer away from the field with the hopes of one day owning her own dance studio. Level-headed and easy-going, she joins a pretty elite group of girls who didn't quit after their 1st tries to make the squad didn't go well. Like captain Lisa, and noted alumni like former captains Keisha and Amanda F and even Amazing Race star Katherine Bichler, Melissa was intent on making the squad and was able to achieve her dream of cheering on an NFL sideline. All too often, people give up on their dreams too easily. One of Melissa's dreams, besides her own studio, is to get her PhD and become a professional dance choreographer, similar to what Paula Abdul did before she started singing. Considering Melissa considers singing and acting among her hidden talents, maybe she'll be following her lead in that area as well. Whatever her future holds though, we know Melissa will leave a great impression on people as that's what she's been doing in the last few years since I first met her as it is. She's the type of person who can put anyone at ease and make them feel pretty important. See all of Melissa's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/64135 Mel's secondary pic comes from the Bills-Lions preseason game. Coming out for the game early in the 1st quarter are Hayley, Jenny, Melissa B, and Alyssa K.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the January game against the Philadelphia Wings. Shown performing late in the 3rd quarter are Stephanie, Kirsten, Brianna A, Chrissy, and Brianna V. We can see these ladies performing when the Bandits host the Wings at the Home Opener on December 28th. The Bandits and Bandettes will also be hosting the Wings at an open scrimmage on December 7th at First Niagara Center!

And the Jills' Pro Bowler is...

Emily! At Buffalo Jills practice tonight, a vote was held to select the squad's representative to the 2014 Pro Bowl. In January, 4th year vet Emily will be trading the snow and cold of Western NY for the sand, palm trees, and warmth of Hawaii. Who she'll be rooting on is hard to say as the Pro Bowl has a new format this season. No longer and AFC-NFC matchup, the teams will be chosen like in a schoolyard, with the top 2 vote-getters named as captains. Regardless, it's unlikely that Emily will be alone over there with several Bills having strong seasons. However, they have to wait more than a month to find out while Emily can start making plans now. Lisa and Christina will be helping her out with what to expect but I'm sure Omarlla will be one of many former Jills Pro Bowlers also more than happy to help Emily out as well.
An honor well-deserved for this 1st year captain!

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kelsey

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Kelsey as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. This ravishing redhead dances on Lisa's line on gamedays between Allysha and Shelby G. A future Spanish teacher, Kelsey got to finish up her rookie season in a big way. For the Super Bowl, she represented the Jills alongside other NFL Cheerleaders at an event in Mexico! I wonder if many of the other NFL Cheerleaders handled the language barrier as well as Kelsey must have. It's somewhat fitting that Veteran's Day falls this week while she's reigning as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. She's not a veteran herself but she has a brother and a sister both in the service right now. As proud as she is of them, one would think they must each be pretty proud of her as well. In addition to performing at the highest level, in the NFL, she made Dean's list all throughout college.See all of Kelsey's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56465 Kelsey's secondary photo comes from the Bills-Ravens game. Shown coming off the field at the end of the game are Katie B, Shelby G, and Kelsey.

The Jills at the Bills-Chiefs game

On Sunday, November 3rd, the 3-5 Buffalo Bills, with undrafted free agent Jeff Tuel at QB, played host to the 8-0 Kansas City Chiefs in a white-out at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Despite all the signs pointing to a loss, the fanbase as a whole seemed confident in the chances of an upset. With some outstanding play on defense and pass-blocking on offense which shut down 2 of the league's leading pass rushers, it appeared as though that faith would be rewarded. However, some crucial turnovers along with some critical dropped balls gave away what should've been a win.

Handling promotions for the day were Gabrielle and Melissa B. Gabrielle is the lucky young lady chosen to grace the back cover of the Jills calendar while Melissa, a rookie on the Jills, started off as an dancer before switching to ambassador. She's also not a typical rookie as she already has a season performing on the pro level as a member of the 2012 Buffalo Bandettes.
Melissa B and Gabrielle
As far as smiles of the game, narrowing it down would be impossible as Allysha, Katrina, Alyssa K, Katie, Kristina, Emily, and Myesha were standouts as usual but others like Emmy, Kayla, and Shelby H were also doing quite a job with the smiles as well. Then of course there's Melissa B who, along with Gabrielle, posed great for the camera a few times with gorgeous smiles shining.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Lisa

This week, we take a look at 7th year vet Lisa as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. After spending the last two seasons as a co-captain, she took over as a full captain for this, her final season on the Jills. Lisa is one of those young ladies who's generally at the center of everything but isn't the type to seek out attention as much as many might be. She simply has the type of personality that people enjoy. She's easy to talk to, outgoing, funny, caring, and most of all, genuine. Her outer beauty, which is what the fans notice most, is actually just an afterthought to those that know her because of what a fantastic young lady she is on the inside. Unfortunately for her legions of male fans, she's also married, only the latest thing for her in a big year that also included a trip to Hawaii as the Jills' Pro Bowl representative following last season. See all of Lisa's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/6846 Lisa's secondary photo comes from the Panthers game. At halftime, the Jills came back out onto the field for the Wall of Fame ceremony celebrating all the Bills' Wall of Famers throughout their history. Shown are Jenny, Hannah, Lisa, and Kelsey.
