We finish up the 2013-14 Buffalo Jill of The Week series with Swimsuit Calendar Covergirl Ashley C. A captain in her 2nd season with the Ambassador squad, she was to be one of only 2 of the 2013 captains to return to the 2014 squad. Over the last two years, she's actually gotten to be pretty good friends with that other captain, longtime BuffaloProCheer favorite Melissa M, formerly of the Bandettes before switching over to the Jills. Ashley is currently in law school after getting her B.S. in legal studies a year ago with hopes to practice law in Buffalo, possibly in corporate law. We know she looks fantastic in uniform but I have a feeling she'll be rocking the powersuit look as well. I also have a feeling she's going to try as hard as she can to stay in Buffalo for a variety of reasons. She loves the seasons and snowboarding as well as the beach and who can forget the sports teams and fans. Another big thing for her is the food as she loves Buffalo-style chicken whether it's in wings, salad, or dip. Considering it's hard to find anyplace outside of Western NY that can put together chicken, hot sauce, and blue cheese the right way, she might have a rough time of it living elsewhere! lol You can see all of Ashley's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56363 Ashley's secondary photo comes from the game against Miami in December when the girls were dressed as Santa's helpers. Shown coming off the field just before the half are Gabrielle, waving to the fans, and Ashley.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the January home game against the Toronto Rock. Prior to the game, most of the squad was greeting fans as they come up the escalators to the 100 level. Shown posing for a photo are members of Kirsten's line with Danielle, Chrissy, Brianna, Kirsten, Mandy, and Lauren K from left to right.

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Gabrielle as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Landing the back cover of the 2013-14 Buffalo Jills Calendar, Gabrielle was to tackle the role of Ambassador squad co-captain in 2014. Middle Eastern in heritage, she's really into celebrating her ancestry with authentic Lebanese food and even Bellydancing. Already a college grad with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, she enjoys painting in her free time as well as photography and the guitar. All that might be a part of why she thinks big when it comes to her perfect date, which includes being flown to Europe. That's not to say she doesn't love Buffalo, because she loves the wings, the Bills, the architecture, and the people, but who wouldn't love to go all out if they could? She's just willing to voice it. You can see all of Gabrielle's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56400 Gabrielle's secondary photo comes from halftime of the Chiefs game. Shown posing for a pic are Melissa B and Gabrielle.

From the Bandettes comes a photo taken at halftime of the home opener against the Philadelphia Wings. Shown posing for a photo before heading out for their halftime performance are 2nd year vet and NLL Girl of The Week winner Kelsey and 5th year vet and captain Kirsten.
This week, we take a look at now-3rd year vet Emmy as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. After spending 2013 dancing on Emily's line between Alyssa K and Allysha, Emmy was to tackle 2014 in a big way...as a captain. A lot of girls, growing up, idolize their big sisters at times and while I'm sure that's true of Emmy's little sister, the reverse seems to be true as well. Besides the fact that she prayed to get a little sister so that she was no longer an only child, she views her as both her best gift ever received and her favorite musical artist. Apparently, her sister Grace is a gifted singer and songwriter. I've seen a lot of Jills and Bandettes think a lot of their younger sisters but I have to say this one tops them all. That being said, hopefully we'll see and hear her sister sometime in the future. Emmy herself plans on a career in the entertainment industry as well, working on degrees in dance and theater performance. Maybe one day, we'll see her dancing on Broadway to music composed by her own little sister? You can see all of Emmy's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56230 Emmy's secondary photo comes from the Bengals game and was taking as the squad was exiting the field near the end of the 3rd quarter. Shown heading into the tunnel are Emmy and Allysha.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the Opener against the Philadelphia Wings. At halftime, several of the girls posed for photos before their on-field performance. Shown posing for this photo are MaKenzie and Janelle.
This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Kaeleigh as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Already a college grad, she's hoping to parlay her degrees in English and teaching into a teaching job one of these days soon. Considering how many Jills have gone into that profession and the fact that Kaeleigh graduated with honors, I'm sure that it's only a matter of time before little boys will have a crush on their teacher Miss Kaeleigh. You can see all of Kaeleigh's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/67949 Kaeleigh's secondary photo comes from the Bengals game and just prior to halftime when some younger cheerleaders came out to the field to perform. Shown rooting them on as they came out of the tunnel are Kaeleigh and Dana.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the Opener against Philadelphia and was taken before the squad went out to perform in pregame. A few of the Bandettes wanted to get some photos taken before their first game, including Jessica and Amanda. Rax, the Bandits' mascot, saw an opportunity in this and photo-bombed them!
This week, we take a look at rookie Shelby G as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Dancing on Lisa's line between Kelsey and Katie, Shelby is a girl with a lot of goals that go beyond the sidelines. Working towards degrees in communications, education, and Interdisciplinary Studies, she's planning on opening her own daycare and preschool one day. To make that goal happen will take a lot of work, but she's no stranger to hard work. Besides all the hard work and pressure that goes into becoming and being a Jill (It's not all fun and games), she's always on the Dean's list in college after getting an academic scholarship at her high school graduation. You can see all of Shelby's photos at http://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65598 Shelby's secondary photo comes from the 4th quarter of the Panthers game. Shown revving up the crowd are Katie and Shelby.

From the Bandettes comes a photo from the Bandits Home Opener against the Wings. Shown posing for a photo at the top of the west bank of escalators are members of LB's line. Posing from left to right are LB, Kelsey, MaKenzie, Janelle, Jessica, Chelsea, and Cheri.

This week, we look at 3rd year vet Melissa as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Now the longest tenured-Jill on the squad, she's actually already put in 10 years in the pro ranks, with 7 seasons as a Bandette before transitioning to the Jills in 2011. As Christina's co-captain last season dancing between Hannah and Shelby H, she was to become a captain for the 2014 season. A country girl at heart, Melissa is most happy when she's performing or spending time with her husband, a guy whose sense of humor is sure to keep their marriage happy and long-lasting. Working in PR and communications, she's a gifted writer after graduating with honors with her Communications degree. She even shared some of her writing skills in her Bandettes days when some of her squadmates got named NLL Girl of The Week by writing about them. As far as contributions to the Jills, if you saw the Western gear that the squad wore for a few performances last season, I think it's safe to say we can thank Melissa for that. The flannel shirts-daisy dukes outfit has been a common thing at Bandits games with the Bandettes a few times a season and given Melissa's history with that squad, she had to have had some part of bringing that over. You can see all of Melissa's pics, including from her Bandettes days, at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/41069 Melissa's secondary photo is from the Ravens game and taken at the end of the 1st quarter. Shown passing by the tunnel are Melissa, Hannah, and Christina.
From the Bandettes, we feature a photo taken at the Bandits Opener against the Philadelphia Wings. Prior to the game, Kirsten's line was greeting fans at the top of the east bank of escalators. Shown posing for a photo are Mandy, Chrissy, Stephanie, Kirsten, Brianna, Danielle, and Lauren K.

This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Katie as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. This blonde beauty, a country girl at heart, is one of those who loves the change in seasons in Buffalo, as wacky as they can be. She loves it so much that she's even hoping to make it her career one day, with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Communication with a minor in Meteorology and Climatology. For now though, she's just enjoying the weather, whether it be by snowboarding in the winter or volleyball, boating, or many other outdoor activities in the nicer weather. She even confesses to being an adrenaline rush enthusiast and enjoyed some sky-diving like some Jills alumnae I know. She hasn't restricted her adventures to Western NY as she's also explored the Grand Canyon. Even though she chose a 1-and-done Jills career, I have a hunch this won't be the last we'll see of her since she and her older sister are both huge fitness nuts so maybe we'll see her in a fitness competition like the one a few weeks ago that 2005 Jills alum Ashlee A earned a medal in. You can see all of Katie's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65456 Katie's secondary photo is from the preseason game against the Lions. Shown near the tunnel as they receive instructions from Jon are Gabrielle and Katie.
This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Natalie as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Spending gamedays in 2013 dancing between Lisa and Emmy on Lisa's line, this gorgeous redhead is originally from down south but has grown to love it in Buffalo since moving here for college. Buffalo isn't the only place she's spent time in for higher education. In addition to working on her BA in dance in Buffalo, she spent a summer in Chicago with the prestigious Giordano Scholarship dance program. With all that focus on dance, she definitely wants to keep dancing for several years to come and eventually teach children to dance as well. Natalie has another side to her as well. Here at the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog, we've noted a few singers and even a professional actress. Natalie likes to paint so maybe one of these days we'll see some of her work in an art gallery just as we've seen Theresa on TV and Ashlee and Aimee onstage. You can see all of Natalie's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/64808 Natalie's secondary photo comes from the 1st quarter of the Jets game. Shown along the sidelines are Allysha, Natalie, Emmy, and Shelby G.
This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Taylor as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Found on Christina's line on gamedays between Christina and Myesha, her closest friend on the squad seems to be Pro Bowl representative Emily and it seems they have a lot in common. Working on degrees in Dance and Business Marketing, Taylor is also a dance teacher and choreographer who, like Emily, wants to travel the world one day. Taylor isn't originally from Buffalo, originally hailing from Pennsylvania but really feels at home in the Queen City. However, like most, this statuesque blonde is really looking forward to some warmer weather to hit the region so she can enjoy some beach time. You can see all of Taylor's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65578 Taylor's secondary photo comes from the Bills-Ravens game. Shown in a photo taken at the end of the 1st quarter are Christina and Taylor walking past the tunnel as their line changes sections.
This week, we take a look at 2nd year dancer Jayanti as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. This ebony-skinned beauty, who danced on one end of Emily's line next to Katrina, is looking at a career in broadcast journalism after previously being interested in veterinary work. Her ultimate would be to land a spot as a reporter on E! Network. Maybe she could end up a co-host on one of those entertainment magazine shows the way Maria Menounos did but Jayanti can skip the wrestling nonsense. Afterall, no one wants to see anyone damage Jayanti's gorgeous features. Maybe the next time the CW23 star's position becomes available, she could get that job like Jills alum Laura and honorary Jill Lydia Dominick once had it. Laura may have discovered it wasn't for her but Lydia is one of the most well-known personalities in Buffalo these days. As far as being a Jill, it seems the biggest thing she'll take from it when all is said and done is the friendships she's made. When you put as much work into being on a squad like the Jills or the Bandettes, if you don't have strong friendships with your squadmates, odds are it'll be harder to handle the job. Luckily for Jayanti, that's not an issue for her as she's extremely appreciative of all her opportunities and friendships she's had with the Jills. You can see all of Jayanti's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56258 Jayanti's secondary photo comes from the Ravens game. Shown coming off the field at halftime are Jayanti and Katrina.
This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Katie as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. A choreographer and a hair stylist when she's not a Jill, Katie spent her sophomore season on the squad dancing on one end of Lisa's line alongside Kelsey H and Shelby G where she's been flashing a pretty fantastic smile her whole career. That smile has been directed at the Bills since she was 6 when she met Phil Hansen at her uncle's sporting goods store. She got to meet him again last September at the Bills Alumni Golf Tournament and talked about that at http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2013/09/19/tbt-jill-katie-meets-hansen-again/ Since first meeting him the 1st time, she's become a bit of an encyclopedia of Buffalo Bills history. That, and the fact that her ideal date is watching a Bills game over a plate of wings makes her just about the perfect Buffalo girl! Looking back, when she first tried out for the Jills in 2012, she had a huge rooting section at 1st cuts. That speaks volumes about what kind of a friendly personality she has if she can bring along that amount of support. Of course we've been seeing that personality shining through in her photos the last two seasons. You can see all of Katie's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56452 Katie's secondary photo is from the end of the Panthers game. Shown coming off the field are Katie, Shelby G, and, with her pretty face covered by Shelby's pom, Kelsey.
This week, we take a look at rookie ambassador Alyssa A as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Working towards an eventual PhD in sociology with a minor in dance, Alyssa dreamt all her life about becoming a Jill. When you consider how much she loves to dance, I have a feeling, if her schedule will allow her to, that she could be dancing on the sidelines this fall starting in Canton at the Hall of Fame Game. Many times when someone joins the Jills, they choose the Ambassador Squad for one of many reasons. Some aren't strong enough in dance while others want to work their ways towards becoming a dancer, giving the Ambassador Squad a try before dancing on a later season. Many simply prefer to be Ambassadors due to scheduling or how much they excel at that aspect of the job. Ambassadors are just as important to the Jills as the dancers but when someone like Alyssa, who's been in several productions of The Nutcracker, comes along, you have to hope she winds up dancing before she's done. You can read more about Alyssa at http://www.buffalojills.com/profile.php?PID=92
This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Kayla as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Dancing on Emily's line between Jenny and Alyssa K, Kayla is finishing up her degree in social work and psychology with the intent to get her PhD one day. Even though she's working hard towards becoming a psychologist, she'd also love to go into sports broadcasting and be the next Bonnie Bernstein or Suzy Kolber. She'd have to be careful with that though in case she did an interview with Joe Namath like Kolber did back in 2003.When it comes to Jills practices and appearances, a lot of emphasis is put into punctuality and girls are encouraged to try to show up early for these things just so that in case of any issues, they can still most likely show up on time. This is something Kayla was focused on even before the Jills, thanks to her mother. She'd rather be a couple of hours early than even a minute late. You can see all of Kayla's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56312 Kayla's secondary pic is from the Chiefs game. In a photo taken as Emily's line was leaving the field just prior to halftime we see Katrina, Emily, Hayley, Jenny, Kayla, and Alyssa K.

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Katrina as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. This blonde beauty spent her season on the squad on Emily's line dancing between Emily and Jayanti and seems to be the real All-American girl from Buffalo. She loves pizza and wings, is athletic with not only dancing but snowboarding and softball, and is pretty low-maintenance when it comes to dating. She's happy when her boyfriend (yep, she's taken from what I've heard) just takes her to dinner and a movie. Aspiring to be the next Melissa Holmes with her college focus being in broadcast journalism, she'd love to one day host her own show like Katie Couric has, starting out as a television reporter and parlaying that into her own talk show. Hopefully if Katrina goes that route, she has as successful a career as Katie has if not more so. You can see all of Katrina's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56330 Katrina's secondary photo comes from the Chiefs game in November. In a photo taken just before the half, we see Jayanti, Katrina, and Emily coming off the field.
This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Allysha as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Performing on one end of Lisa's line next to Kelsey, Allysha was probably the most camera-friendly of the rookies on the squad this past fall, flashing her pretty smile on a regular basis for the fans. The most important job an NFL cheerleader does is PR and by being outgoing for the fans the way Allysha was in 2013, she does the job exceptionally well. Currently, she's working to become a nurse practitioner and looking to join other beauties from the Jills and the Bandettes in the nursing field. With Allysha, Myesha, and several girls who have retired from the spotlight within the last few years in nursing or going into nursing, Buffalo is definitely the best place to spend time in the hospital. A few girls over the years have made a name for themselves with their tumbling ability and apparently Allysha and her sister Shelby can even do a double cartwheel together. Back in 2010, tumblers Jill E and Michelle did a "Flips For Tips" thing at the Jills Golf Tournament and it got a lot of positive feedback. Something tells me that Allysha and Shelby performing together would get a lot of similar response. See all of Allysha's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65467 Allysha's secondary photo comes from the Ravens game and was taken while the squad was coming out for the second half. Shown coming out of the tunnel are Shelby G, Kelsey, and Allysha.
This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Janis as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. A chaplain's assistant at the Niagara Falls Air Base, Janis already spent time traveling around the world before she joined the Jills, including Africa. She also has family in the Philippines where her parents are from and has plans to visit there in the future to help build an orphanage, a school, and a church one day. She has a degree in nursing that she earned in San Diego and one in business administration from a college in Missouri but it's her job in the USAF that drives her most of all. Part of being a Jill means supporting charities and many of the girls wind up having a favorite or two when all is said and done. Janis already had hers before joining the squad and that's to aid, support, and visit ministries all over the world but especially http://www.missiontothefatherless.org/ in Kenya You can see all of Janis's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/67458 Janis's secondary photo comes from the Bills-Ravens game and was taken at the end of the game. Shown coming off the field are Janis and Gabrielle.
This week, we take a look at rookie Jhonnie as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Originally from Atlanta, Jhonnie moved to Buffalo to finish her communications degree and loves the way she's been treated here. Despite her gorgeous figure, she loves to eat...so she must have a high metabolism in addition to working out a lot. She's not your typical "take me to dinner" girl...when it comes to dating, she prefers doing something more active like jet-skiing or horseback riding. That being said, she does enjoy reality tv, especially the Real Housewives series. With her love of adventure and reality tv, one has to wonder if she was glued to The Amazing Race last year when Jills alum Katherine was on with her husband Max like many of us were. You can read more about Jhonnie at http://www.buffalojills.com/profile.php?PID=97
This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Alyssa K as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Anchoring one end of Emily's line alongside Kayla on gamedays, Alyssa has had a pretty big year since last season. The obvious is that she went from blonde to brunette and I have to admit it's a fantastic look on her. Sometimes, when someone changes hair color, it kind of hurts their looks to some extent. It definitely wasn't the case with Alyssa, though. She's also moved to retail management after previously going after a law degree. She's planning on working her way up to becoming a corporate rep but still is looking to move back to the Big Apple one of these days. When it comes to the Jills though, she got a nice honor a couple of months ago when she was the lone 2nd year vet nominated for a Pro Bowl visit. While she wasn't the final one chosen, it was still an honor and I have a pretty strong hunch that, if she chooses to return in 2014, she could be named captain. With captains Christina, Lisa, and Emily all retiring and Lindsey having left the squad early in the season, the only dance captains who might still be returning are Melissa and Jenny, who served as co-captains in 2013. That leaves 4 spots to fill and I think Alyssa would be an excellent choice to take the one open captain's spot. You can see all of Alyssa's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/56323 Alyssa's secondary pic comes from the Chiefs game. In a photo taken at the start of the 2nd quarter when Emily's line was changing sections, we see Kayla and Alyssa K.
This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Olivia as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. The Jills regularly send girls out to visit the troops and have even sent a few large groups to the Middle East, even into Iraq. As it turns out, this blonde beauty was over in Iraq herself...but she was there as a member of the United States Air Force, joining Kelly H(2002-08) and Marisa P(2000, 2003) as USAF Vets who've been with the Jills in the last decade. It makes me wonder why they didn't look like Olivia, or Kelly or Marisa for that matter, when I was in myself! When she returned from her deployment, she got to not only meet President Obama, but her 1-day old niece! Talk about timing...and that was all just before she tried out for the Jills last spring. In the Reserves, Olivia is hoping to become a nurse practitioner with her nursing degree, joining the ranks of beautiful Jills and Bandettes, past and present, in the nursing field. You can see all of Olivia's pics at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65502 Olivia's secondary pic comes from the 1st preseason game against the Vikings. Shown in the 2nd quarter are Olivia and Ashley C.
This week, we take a look at rookie Ashley P as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Spending her season on the Ambassador Squad, she's already an accomplished college grad working as a certified medical assistant but even though she loves Buffalo, she does have the goal of moving to a larger city. That, of course, can change at any time as we've seen the goals of Jills change over the years. But Ashley's already had some adventures in her life while living in Buffalo. She partied it up in Vegas for her 21st but, before that, she spent some time in Los Angeles for a modeling and acting competition. How they missed out on selecting her is puzzling but we can be thankful they did or else she might never have joined the Jills. You can see all of Ashley's pics at http://buffaloprocheerbuffalojills.shutterfly.com/jillsindividualpics/65595 Ashley's secondary pic comes from the home finale vs Miami when she was helping handle promotional duties for the game. Shown posing for the camera in the second quarter are Ashley P and Dana.
