Buffalo Jill of The Week Laura

We end 2007 and go into 2008 taking a look at one of our rookies with Ambassador Squad member Laura. She's not the typical girly-girl by any means as we've come to expect to some extent from the Jills. This married woman spends some of her free time traveling around the country to participate in, and win, archery tournaments. And while we have girls like Kelly and Jenica driving around in sporty cars, Laura drives a big truck. But don't let her tomboyish interests fool you, Laura is all woman and a total health and fitness nut. She put 6 months of work in prior to tryouts in getting into top shape, even going as far as hiring a personal trainer. All the work was worth it as she, obviously, nailed a spot on the squad despite her concerns that she wasn't even going to make the first cut. You can read more about Laura at http://buffalojills.net/bios/laura.html

Giants Game pics

The Bills home season came to an end in a rough way. The loss to the Giants wasn't the biggest story, though. The Bills played and the Jills cheered in the worst weather in recent Bills history. Winds and rain all during pregame pushed the 97Rock tailgate into the Fieldhouse and some of the Jills onto covered golf carts as they toured the lots meeting with the fans. The game started off well as the Bills jumped to a 14-0 lead under clear skies and cheered on by the Jills dressed as Santa's most beautiful helpers. The rains came hard soon and while the Jills, in ponchos and cold weather gear, kept up their cheers and routines, the Bills couldn't keep the lead, allowing the Giants to clinch a playoff spot.

The Jills will be at various appearances the next few months, including a trip to Greece to see the troops by Kelly and Kaitlin B, before the open workshop and tryouts at the end of March. We hope that anyone thinking about trying out remembers there are more positives than negatives.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Emily

Fourth-year vet Emily has been cheering for more than a decade now and if it means getting to go on trips like she did in 2007, it's hard to imagine her stopping anytime soon. Besides the camaraderie with her squadmates and gamedays where she gets to showcase her athleticism and tumbling ability, the biggest thing she'd miss would be the troop visits. Whether it be the trip to Fort Hood a few years ago where she even saw Saddam Hussein's cash box on not 1, but 2 trips to the Middle East in 2007, first to Iraq and then to Afghanistan, she loves every experience she has on the visits. Knowing how sweet Emily can be with that smile of hers, I'd imagine all those soldiers enjoyed seeing her even more. She can be found on one end of Omarlla's line next to Brianne. You can read more about Emily at http://buffalojills.net/bios/emily.html

Time to vote for the Jills

AOL Fanhouse has polls running for fans to pick the hottest cheerleaders by division. You can cast your vote for both AFC Cheerleaders and NFC Cheerleaders
It's not the most exact poll...people are actually voting for teams without cheerleaders...lol
Obviously any unbiased fan will pick the Jills in the AFC East with some of the breathtaking beauty we have on the squad

Buffalo Jill of The Week Stacy

This week, we take a look at one of the Jills rookies. Unfortunately, Stacy landed a job out of town and left the squad rather early, only cheering in the preseason on Omarlla's line next to Natale. She did, however, make an impression before she left. At the annual Father's Day Softball game, she was the buddy of a little boy named Steve and she kept in touch with him for at least the next few months. She also got to spend a portion of the Golf tournament with Jim Ball, the car dealership's owner and a sponsor of the Buffalo Jills. She didn't just ride around, though. She did try her hand at the game itself, taking a few swings at the ball and learning how to play. While we do miss Stacy on the squad, especially considering she almost tried out in 2004 but held off because she wanted to be able to devote more time to the squad than she could back then, we wish her all the luck in the world with her career. Of course we wouldn't be against her getting a job in Buffalo instead, so she could return to the squad...lol. You can read more about Stacy at http://buffalojills.net/bios/stacey.html

Pictures from Zebb's Deluxe Bar and Grill

All season long, the Jills have teamed up with the Bills and 97Rock to bring a Monday Night Football party to Zebb's Deluxe Bar and Grill, alternating it between the Amherst and Orchard Park locations. In addition to watching Monday Night Football with the Jills and some Bills players, there are trivia questions for prizes as well as a contest for a trip for 4 to Tampa Bay. The drawing will take place on the 17th at the Amherst location, the last of these parties for the season.
On December 10th, DJ Jickster from 97Rock hosted the party and brought along Bills players Brian Moorman and Rian Lindell for the fans to meet. Also in attendance were Mrs New York Jennifer Stehler and Laura from the Buffalo Jills. Here are some photos of Laura with some of the fans as well as the players.

Fish Game pics

Fighting for their playoff lives, the Buffalo Bills played host to the hated Miami Dolphins on a snowy day in Western New York. To the surprise of probably none of the 71,018 fans in attendance, the Bills blew out the winless Fish by a score of 31-7 at the half and 38-17 at the end. Keeping the crowd pumped up all day long were the Buffalo Jills with dance and cheer routines.
It's said that the most beautiful women look great in swimwear as well as dressed like Eskimos. As seen in these pics, the Jills fit that description as their beautiful smiles kept things warm even in the snow.
Up next for the Jills are appearances at Zebb's for MNF on the 10th and the 17th (check 97Rock.com for details) and the home finale against the Giants on the 23rd. We can only hope the Bills keep winning and keep the Jills cheering through January and into February.

Bandits Open Practice pics and videos

The 2007 Bandits fell short of their ultimate goal and have retooled for the 2008 season, in an effort to bring a Championship to the city of Buffalo. They put on an open practice on Saturday afternoon to thank the fans for their support and increase interest in the NLL. Judging from the number of seats available, season ticket packages seem to be up from last season.
The Bandits weren't alone in their retooling as the Bandettes had a few squad members not return from last season. In all, 9 vets return from 2007 with Erin H and Erin Y still the captains. Joining them are Sarah, Kimberly, Melissa, Beth, Meghan, Ashley, and Amanda H back for another season. A mixture of familiar and new faces make up the newcomers to the squad. Returning are ex-Bandettes Karla, Korinne, and Casey after a few seasons off. Amanda Z, Jessica, and Justina are 3 beautiful rookies in their first season as pro cheerleaders.
The Bandettes put on a routine prior to the practice as well as a routine midway through the practice that clocked in at over 3 minutes. After the routines they visited with the fans and were down on the field along with the players for an autograph session following the practice.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Melissa

Every so often, a Jill will decide not to return because her schedule is just too hectic to be able to commit to being on the squad but finds the time, in the future, to come back. Melissa is just such a girl. She spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons on the sidelines dazzling fans with her incredible smile but took the 2006 season off. Part of that time off was spent with a Disney On Ice tour. No, she wasn't performing...they didn't want to risk melting the ice at the arenas. She worked in sales while traveling with the tour and, probably not surprisingly, shows sold out rather quickly. Think how quickly they would've sold had she been performing. She left the tour early however, partly because she missed her dogs so much. At the Animal Attraction event 2 years ago, she showed off Daisy to the fans but she has 3 more as well that she loves immensely as well. Now she's back and has shown she hasn't lost a step nor has her smile lost its gleam in that year off as she dances on Jamie's line right between Jamie and Kaitlin B. You can read more about Melissa at http://buffalojills.net/bios/melissa.html

The Jills' 2007-2008 Pro Bowler is....

Nicole! She's a 4th year veteran and is serving as Jamie's co-captain this year. If you recognize those eyes, maybe you were fortunate enough to get last year's swimsuit calendar with her on the cover. At the final home game of the season, when the Jills will likely be wearing Santa outfits, she'll be wearing a lei wreath as well, signifying her Pro Bowl berth, as elected by her squadmates recently. The Pro Bowl, to take place on Sunday, February 10, in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu will be televised on FOX. But beyond the Pro Bowl itself, Nicole will be present at many of the Pro Bowl festivities during that prior week. There are events like the Alumni game and the QB challenge that the Pro Bowl Cheerleaders are cheering at that will be televised the weekend of the Pro Bowl.
Congratulations to Nicole and don't feel too guilty when you're in the sun and sand in Hawaii while the rest of us are buried in snow....because you deserve this!

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kelly

This week, we take a look at the captain of the Ambassador Squad. Ambassador Jills are required to have a strong ability to professionally mingle and converse with others. What that entails is someone whose personality not only puts people around her at ease, but actually draws people to her. Anyone who knows Kelly knows that she fits that definition perfectly. She can be as zany and nuts as anyone else at a party but also knows when to turn that part of her off and be serious when the situation calls for it. Those personality attributes served her well in the military as she spent 9 1/2 years with the US Air Force and spent a portion of that time recruiting others into the service as well. You can read more about Kelly at http://www.buffalojills.net/bios/kelly.html

Bandettes Perform at Disco

The Buffalo Bandettes were guest performers at the 14th annual World's Largest Disco at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center this weekend.
The Bandettes performed two dances on the main stage of the largest dance floor in New York State, dressed in their own disco costumes. This was the first performance for the 2008 Buffalo Bandettes, who have been guest performers at the Disco for more than four years.

Pictures from Football Night In Buffalo

This was a game not meant to write home about and for that, the Buffalo Jills must be commended. Players failed to execute in every phase of the game, coaches had the players ill-prepared, and a full and loud stadium started emptying out before halftime. Yet, despite their obvious disappointment, the Buffalo Jills put on their smiles and put on wonderful performances throughout the entire game. Their efforts deserved a lot better performance from the team they were cheering on.

Prior to the game, the Ambassador Squad looked to heat things up in the cold weather by selling their sizzling hot swimsuit calendars as well as gloves at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge tailgate parties.

Next up for the Jills are some appearances at Zebb's for MNF (check 97Rock.com for details) and then a return to the Ralph on December 9th as the Bills face off against the hated Fish.

Jills in swimwear online

The official photographers of the Jills, Fisher Creative Image, has recently updated their site with a few collages of shots from this year's Jills calendars shoots.
Their downtown collage features rookies Jill D and Joy along with a centerpiece of Kaitlin B. When you head to the lakeside, Nicole is joined by Rachael and Katie C. The backdrops collage features Joy along with Natale and Amanda K while the True Colors landscape features Brianne and Jamie. Don't just take my word for it on how beautiful the shots are, check them out at http://fishercreativeimage.com/Jills/

2008 Buffalo Bandettes Tryouts

The Buffalo Bandettes held open tryouts last weekend for the 2008 squad.
Hopefuls met at Gold's gym for the chance to become a member of one of Buffalo's elite dance teams, and cheer on their favorite lacrosse stars.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jill R

This rookie Jill started off the season dancing on Aimee's line but her personal schedule has gotten so hectic she wasn't able to keep dancing. Luckily, there was still enough time in Jill R's schedule for her to join her twin sister Joy on the Ambassador Squad and still be a valuable member of the squad. Maybe next season she'll be able to return to dancing though, as she's been involved in gymnastics and cheerleading since she was a little girl. She only spent two games dancing (the Titans preseason and the Broncos opener) due to the fact that she was the sole rookie in the group of Jills sent over to entertain the troops in Afghanistan in early August. Those girls got home the evening before the preseason home opener and were given the game off after their 12-day trip.

While we certainly hope she continues spending her Sundays in the fall at Ralph Wilson Stadium as a Buffalo Jill, I'm sure, in the next few years, that heart rates will be going up in the doctor's office when she finishes her education. For a career that is known as a popular field, Jill is looking to become one of the few Jills the past few years to be entering the nursing field. Bandettes welcome back three former squad members

This year, the Bandettes squad is going to carry 16 girls on their roster. Ten of those girls are returning vets from last year but in actuality, there are 13 vets on the roster. Those other three cheered on the Bandits in previous years and decided to come back for 2008 to cheer the Bandits on to a title. Those 3 vets are Karla, Casey, and Korinne.
Karla was on the Bandettes for 5 seasons so she's hardly a stranger but she also spent 2000-2002 as a member of the Buffalo Jills as well. She's also posted quite frequently on the webgroup giving us the perspective of one of the girls whose work we promote here.
Casey's pro cheerleading remained indoors starting with 2 years on the Bombshells and then 2 with the Bandettes. She was also a member of the short-lived Buffalo Rush squad which cheered on the Buffalo Rapids basketball team. The Rapids are now known as the Silverbacks and play in the ABA at Buffalo State's sports arena.
Korinne is also a 3-sport cheerleader, having spent 4 seasons as a Bombshell, 1 as a Bandette, and 2 1/2 seasons as a Buffalo Jill. A word to the wise, when seeing Korinne for the first time...wear sunglasses as she's always looking to blind people with that smile of hers...lol.
Stay Tuned as a video was shot at tryouts on Sunday and we'll see all the new and returning faces...10 vets, 3 past vets, and 3 rookies.

Former NFL cheerleader named Silverbabe advisor and choreographer

The Miami Valley Silverbacks will have a new face directing the Silverbabes for the 2008 season.Elizabeth Morgan, the founder and Director of Expressions Dance Arts Inc. in St. Thomas and London, Ontario, Canada, has joined the Silverbacks as the Advisor and choreographer of the 2008 Silverbabe squad.“The Silverbacks have a great three-year history already and an impressive involvement in the community”, says Morgan. “They are a solid club with great talent, both in terms of players, management, coaching staff and cheerleaders. It is a pleasure to add a little fresh choreography into an already entertaining and exciting family football experience.” Morgan choreographs for professional dance teams across North America, including the Canadian Football League Toronto Argos, American Indoor Football League Rebelles and North American Football League London Silverbacks. She is former Captain on the Buffalo Bills cheerleaders, the CFL Argos cheerleaders and the CFL Tiger Cats cheerleaders. She is a 14-year member of the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association and a graduate of UWO. A veteran professional cheerleader with the Canadian Football League and the National Football League, Elizabeth also opportunity to perform at international competitions, on numerous television specials, in films, DVDs, and print, at Grey Cup Half-Time shows, at U.S. Military bases, and on the Juno Awards, among other things.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Omarlla

With a captivating smile and an outgoing personality, Omarlla has been with the Jills for 8 seasons and, like Eileen, keeps getting better. She's been a captain for several seasons and was the Jills' Pro Bowl selection following the 2003 season. In addition, she and Aimee were the two Jills selected to represent the squad in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs televised on NFL Network. Surprisingly, for someone who looks so good in a bikini, she didn't even know how to swim until just before the competition when Aimee gave her a few lessons. Learning new things comes with the territory for Omarlla as she's not only an accomplished teacher, but she has her Master's degree in Elementary Education and plans on going back for her PhD as well. If this former Buffalo Bandette (2 seasons) puts the effort into it the same way she does everything else, she'll graduate with her PhD at the top of her class. You can read more about Omarlla at http://buffalojills.net/bios/omarlla.html

Bengals Game pics

With the Bills defense facing a potent offense headlined by Jills fan Chad Johnson (who gave Aimee and Omarlla high marks in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs Dance Competition), the Bills offense had to produce and behind the efforts of the trio of Losman, Lynch, and Evans, they did just that in an exciting 33-21 win.The excitement wasn't limited to the field as the Jills, sporting some of their new jackets (designs available to the public in 2008), kept the crowd rocking with their sideline routines and dance performances (including a halftime routine in the scoreboard endzone) all game long. Pregame had the Jills in the Fieldhouse and at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties selling and signing calendars as well as posing for photos with their adoring fans.Next up for the Jills, after appearances at Zebb's for MNF games, is a return to the Ralph to help cheer on the Bills against the hated New England Patriots.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Eileen

This time around, we take a look at no ordinary vet. Eileen is one of 2 Jills left who started out in 2000. That's 8 seasons and she isn't slowing down by any means. If anything, quite the opposite is true and she's actually getting better as the time goes by. She could very well go for the record as far as seasons for a Jill. Quite a change from her original plans of moving to NYC to finish school...which she had planned in her rookie year. This is her second year as Omarlla's co-captain and one of her achievements as a Jill was getting selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2005 season. She was also one of those selected to perform for the troops in Iraq this past spring and, if that wasn't enough, headed up the group that went to Afghanistan in August. You can read more about Eileen at

Buffalo Jill of The Week Ayeshia

In Arabic, the name Ayeshia means alive and our Jill of The Week certainly fits that description. She's been dancing since 1995 and is constantly striving to be her very best in everything she does, whether it be dance, work, or school. She's already completed her degree but has plans to go back to further her education in the pharmaceutical field. On gamedays, this rookie dancer can be seen on Aimee's line between Valerie and Autumn and is loving every minute of it. She says that one of her biggest qualities is how outgoing she is and this is an aspect of her personality that's come out a lot more since she joined the Jills. It's not that she wasn't outgoing or that she was painfully shy beforehand but if one were to have met her in the spring and then see what she's like now, the difference seems rather noticeable. You can read more about Ayeshia at http://buffalojills.net/bios/ayeshia.html

NLL Season back on!

The National Lacrosse League has announced the reaching of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Professional Lacrosse Player's Association. The agreement is a seven-year term that begins in 2008 and run through the 2014 season. The agreement marks the longest labor deal in the 22-year history of professional indoor lacrosse. The league's previous three-year agreement with the PLPA expired following the 2007 season.
A new 2008 schedule will be released next week.
Stay tuned for further developments as in Bandettes tryouts!

Ravens game pictures

Coming back from their bye week, the Buffalo Bills did the opposite of what they've been doing all year. They held off a late comeback attempt by the Ravens and hated ex-teammate Willis Mcgahee in an exciting matchup in Buffalo. The excitement, of course, wasn't limited to game action as the Jills continue to prove that the beauty of Buffalo women is impossible to ignore. The beauties on the sidelines sported pink ribbons and pom-poms as a part of a breast cancer awareness campaign and kept the crowd going all day long with not only beauty, but their dancing and cheering skills. And prior to the game, fans of the Bills and Ravens alike lined up to get their pictures taken with members of the Jills Ambassador Squad and purchase swimsuit calendars so they can see these beauties every day through the end of 2008. Coming up next is a game against the Bengals and Jills fan Ocho Cinco who gave mad props to Aimee and Omarlla in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs Competition.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kaitlin V

This week, we take a look at another one of our rookies on the squad. Kaitlin V spends her gamedays as a part of the Jills Ambassador Squad and the fact that she's not a dancer has nothing to do with her dance ability. She cheered for 12 years prior to the Jills, including 2 years on an all-star squad. Despite the fact that she's a busy young lady, she's rarely seen without a smile. Even suffering some serious exposure from the sun on Kids Day didn't phase her. Considering she says one of her main attributes is her strength, I guess that makes sense. And no, that doesn't mean she's some sort of body builder...she's definitely very feminine. You can read more about Kaitlin at http://buffalojills.net/bios/kaitlinv.html

Bandettes tryouts cancelled

It's now official...with the cancellation of the 2008 NLL season, Bandettes tryouts, originally scheduled for this weekend, have been cancelled. There will be some appearances in the coming months featuring the 2007 Bandettes squad, however. So stay tuned for any info on that.

NLL Season cancelled

For anyone not following the NLL's CBA talks, they had til midnight Monday night to ratify a new agreement and they didn't. The NLL then made the decision to cancel the 2008 season so unfortunately we won't get to see the Bandettes take the field this spring. I would imagine that Bandettes tryouts, scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday, will likely be cancelled as well but I'm waiting to hear official word on that from the Bandettes head coach. Stay Tuned.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Lisa

This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Lisa. On gamedays, you can find her anchoring one end of Jamie's line next to Kaitlin and has been cheering since the age of 4! We often hear about girls dancing at an early age, but it seems to be a rarity that they're actually waving pom-poms at such an age. She's danced as well and that, combined with the cheering, helped her win three national titles as a member of an All-Star Cheerleading Team. Nowadays, besides spending Sundays on the sidelines at the Ralph and working on her degree, she coaches a high school varsity cheerleading squad. So in another year or two, she could wind up cheering alongside someone she coached. You can read more about Lisa at http://buffalojills.net/bios/lisa.html

MNF pics

After 13 years, Monday Night Football returned to Buffalo in grand style. Unfortunately for Bills fans, despite the best efforts of the defense, special teams, the 12th man, and the Buffalo Jills, the offense still found a way to cost the team the game. While the team itself came up short in their upset bid over the hated Cowboys, the 12th man and the Buffalo Jills came out ahead in showing the nation how much they deserved a Super Bowl Champion team. Attached are a few photos from the evening. Unfortunately, the night game limited the number of high quality shots but rest assured, for those who weren't in attendance, the Jills were more than on top of their game. Coming up next for the Jills is a game against Willis McGahee and the Ravens. However, stay tuned for info on a Jills event that weekend featuring some guests...from the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders.

Comedy Show pics

Club Paradise in Blasdell was the scene for the Jills Adult Comedy Show on Friday night and a full house enjoyed the comedic stylings of, among others, 97Rock's own Rob Lederman. A Chinese auction was held with prizes donated by various Jills sponsors and a quartet of recently departed Jills (Mickey, Korinne, Kristine L, and Tamara) were on hand to support their former squadmates. Of course no Jills event is complete without a dance performance or two and in addition to a performance by Nicole, Omarlla, Eileen, Katie K, and Aimee, audience members received a special treat. Jamie and Christina put on another dance performance with their choreographer Kelli. Of course, the videos are a pale imitation of seeing them all perform in person. Coming up next is a full day on MNF with a few Jills appearing at Duff's in Orchard Park and then a chance to see some of the Jills in the fieldhouse and at the 97Rock, 103.3 The Edge, and Coors Light-Molson Canadian Tailgate Parties. Stay tuned for info on a joint event with the Ravens cheerleaders.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Nicole

This week, we take a look at last year's swimsuit calendar covergirl, Nicole P. This is her fourth year on the squad and is once again a co-captain, this year assisting Jamie after a season on Aimee's line. Besides the obvious about Nicole, like her dancing and beauty, there's more about her that's not as obvious to those who don't know her. She's fluent in Spanish and plans to teach the language in the near future. And, if all goes according to plan, she may be able to also teach Italian if needed, something that will only help expand her marketability as a foreign languages teacher. Beyond that, she was selected as a participant in ¿Qué Dice La Gente?, a spanish-speaking gameshow similar to Family Feud aired on TeleFutura (431 on DirecTV). This was part of a special episode featuring NFL Cheerleaders. You can read more about Nicole at http://buffalojills.net/bios/nicolep.html

Big weekend coming up

This looks to be a busy weekend for Jills fans.
First off is the Jills Comedy Show taking place Friday night at 8 (doors open at 7) at Club Paradise in the Clarion Hotel in Blasdell, NY at 3950 McKinley Parkway. It's just down the street from the McKinley Mall and less than 2 miles from the Ralph.
On Monday, from 9am to 1pm, 103.3 The Edge will be at Duff's in Orchard Park at 3090 Orchard Park Rd and they'll have a few of the Jills with them in celebration of Buffalo's return to hosting Monday Night Football!
Following that is the main event...Monday Night Football itself. Lots open at 3:30. By 5:30 you can expect to find the Jills Ambassador Squad stationed in the Fieldhouse as well as at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge tailgate parties. Then of course is the game in which we can expect the Jills to put on a few big performances as well as the normal sideline routines we've all come to know and love.

Jets Game pictures

September ended in Buffalo on a great note. The Buffalo Bills got their first win of the season behind some big plays on defense and solid play-calling (for a change) and execution by the offense, including rookie QB Trent Edwards. Not to be outdone, the Buffalo Jills were also in great form all day. Whether it be selling calendars and comedy show tickets like wildfire in pregame tailgates, showing off their dance abilities during the game, or just plain looking beautiful, the Jills showed once again why their popularity around the league is continuing to rise. Added to their uniforms was a pin with the number 85, in honor of injured Bills TE Kevin Everett, who's in Houston recovering from a life-threatening spinal cord injury suffered at the home opener. Coming up next is the Jills Comedy Show at Club Paradise Friday night and then a return to game action on the 8th as the Bills and Jills host Monday Night Football for the first time since 1994.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kaitlin B

This week, we go back to the vets and take a look at 2nd year dancer Kaitlin B. On gamedays, she's found on Jamie's line between Melissa and Lisa. Her dance training prior to joining the squad last year was purely of the non-sideline variety with 6 years at the David De Marie Studios. As a Jill, she could be considered a part of the group of Three Musketeers made up of herself, Valerie, and Jessica Z. At any major Jills event, where you see one of them, you can usually find at least one of the other two is closeby as well. One would think, with the close bond these three share, that they grew up together or something...yet all three come from different towns in Western New York and attended dance growing up with different dance schools. It seems it was just a case of getting to know one another early as rookies and having a common bond. You can read more about Kaitlin at http://buffalojills.net/bios/kaitlinb.html

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jill D

This week, we take a look at a Jill named Jill. Rookie dancer Jill D can be found on gamedays on Aimee's line next to Aimee and Valerie. It's a natural fit for Jill to be on the squad and the reasoning for that has nothing to do with her name. She has 13 years of dance training including 7 years of competitive dance training as well as 2 years of dance in college. While she says one word that describes her is silly, she actually comes across as pretty mature for her age, probably due in part to all the work she's put in to get to this point. While it's true she's put in a lot of work and she continues to work at it, she's also enjoying her experiences on the squad thus far and it's pretty rare to see her not sporting her warm and friendly smile. You can read more about Jill at http://buffalojills.net/bios/jilld.html

Update on Jills Official site

The Jills official site is updating right now but there are some sections of the site that are all finished and looking sharp.

Included among those is the Calendar page where info is included for ordering the sizzling hot swimsuit calendar over the phone or mail order. http://www.buffalojills.net/calendar.html

The Bios page (still being updated with more bios) is where you can check out info on your favorite Buffalo Jills including background, experiences, and even their sign http://www.buffalojills.net/bios/

There's a photo gallery as well where you can find not only some of the photos from this site, but other Jill-submitted photos as well, including a few photos from Afghanistan, a recent troop visit featuring Eileen, Autumn, Emily, Melissa, Stefanie, Jenica, Jessica Z, Kaitlin B, and Jill R.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Stephanie B

This week, we take a look at rookie Stephanie B. Stephanie can be found on gamedays next to Omarlla and Christina in the lineup and is loving her experiences as a Jill so far. Her swimsuit photo shoot, taken at Fountain Plaza in Buffalo, did a great job of showing off her curves in a pink string bikini and she's shown ever since then how camera-friendly she is. But Stephanie is more than curves and a bright smile. She was a competitive dancer for over a decade and a half and when reaching high school, she skipped the Jr. Varsity cheerleading squad and went straight to Varsity. She's working on becoming an elementary school teacher and hopes to really make an impact on children's lives, similar to how Oprah Winfrey has done, but on a different scale. You can read more about Stephanie at http://buffalojills.net/bios/stephanieb.html

Buffalo Jills Adult Comedy Show

After a year hiatus, the Jills Comedy show is back. Now, before anyone asks, no, this isn't an event where the comedians are the Buffalo Jills. Although, if one of the girls did take the stage like that, I wouldn't be surprised. None of us expected Aimee and Keiyonna to sing at a couple of events last season but they did. No, this will be featuring Rob Lederman from 97 Rock along with a number of other comedians. The 2005 show was finished off by Los Angeles-based comic B.T.

This year, the show will be held at Club Paradise in Blasdell. That's the nightclub of the Clarion Hotel right on McKinley Pkwy, less than a mile off of Milestrip on Friday, October 5th, at 8pm. Tickets are available in advance for $15 from a number of places.

  • Club Paradise

  • Citadel Radio studios in Buffalo

  • Order them direct through the Jills..contact info is at http://www.buffalojills.net/contact.html

  • Buy them direct from the Jills themselves prior to the Bills-Jets game on September 30th in the Fieldhouse or at the 97Rock or 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties while you're getting your swimsuit calendars.

They will also be available at the door for $17 so if you can't get yours early, you won't get shut out from attending this event. A cash bar and food will be available as well and a Chinese Auction will be held. For those unaware of what a Chinese Auction is, it's similar to a raffle in that you buy raffle tickets. However, you put the ticket in the basket for whatever prize(s) you are interested in winning. So, if you see some prizes you don't care for, you just don't put in for them and you won't get them. There will be about 50 items available for the auction.

Hope to see you there!

Broncos game pics

On a rainy day in Orchard Park, NY, the Buffalo Bills suffered a devastating last second loss to the visiting Broncos and to a number of severe injuries to the players, including one probably ending a career. There were positives to this day as well, though. Super Bowl Era Bills players came together at halftime to see special teams ace Steve Tasker take his place on the Bills Wall of Fame. Also, the 2007-2008 edition of the Buffalo Jills squad made their regular season debut and the rain couldn't dampen their spirit or beauty. Swimsuit Calendars were selling fast in pregame and a number of the dancers were stationed around the gates in pregame for the Fan Food Drive collecting money and non-perishable food items. Next up, the Bills and Jills return to the Ralph on the 30th vs the Jets.

2007 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar Release Party

On the Friday night before the Bills opened the regular season on the field, their cheerleaders, the wildly popular Buffalo Jills celebrated the release of their Swimsuit Calendar at Club New York in Niagara Falls, NY. Party-goers were able to get calendars signed by nearly the entire squad as well as get photos of and with the Jills. After all that, the majority of the squad took the stage to show off their swimwear before Eileen, Christina, Omarlla, Nicole, and Katie K put on a trio of rousing dance performances for the excited crowd. Former Jills Kristine L (2002-2005) and Jessica K (2006...there to support her twin sister Jenica who made the cover) were on hand to help the large crowd celebrate the calendar. If you missed this big event, what were you thinking? Here's a LARGE series of pictures to show off what you missed and to give the rest of us some memories of the evening.

Buffalo Jill of the Week Amanda F

The name Amanda means loveable and that's a fitting word for our current Jill of The Week, rookie Amanda F. At the Jills Golf Tournament, she was one of the Jills bid on to be a companion for the day and pulled in $50 on just her opening bid. She didn't just travel around with her foursome, however. She was given the task of using the rangefinder to help out her golfers. Then, at the first preseason game, she, Jessica D, Katherine, and Vincenza took a tour to Lot 1 to sell some calendars pregame and a few guys remarked how September was now their favorite month...because of Amanda. Besides quickening pulses, Amanda spends her free time when not cheering or in college classes with her dog Riley. You can read more about this blonde bombshell at http://buffalojills.net/bios/amandaf.html

Buffalo Jill of The Week Aimee G

I suppose it's rather fitting that the 2007 season's Inaugural Jill of The Week is Aimee G after the season she just came off of. 2006 was a big season for her for a number of reasons. She got named captain for the first time and helped demonstrate the dance routine at the Jills Open Workshop as part of tryouts the past 2 seasons. Prior to 2006, Aimee spent 2 seasons as Nichole's co-captain. Over the summer prior to the 2006 season, Aimee was one of 2 Jills chosen to go to Six Flags New England for the Inaugural NFL Cheerleader Playoffs. She and Omarlla were standouts, winning every one of their first round events. One notable part of that was the aquatic relay. Omarlla had only learned to swim, thanks to Aimee, a week before the trip but still had them in 3rd place when she finished her leg of the race. When Aimee took over, she made up ground in a fast way...getting into the lead by the midway point and finishing a good 1/2 length ahead of the nearest competitor. With all the rain at the Bills games last season, one has to wonder why Aimee never sprouted a tail like other mermaids. Aimee showed off her singing voice at both the FHM Release and the Swimsuit Calendar Release parties last season and finished off the season with a trip to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl. You can read more about Aimee at http://buffalojills.net/bios/aimee.html

More pics from the Titans game

I wasn't the only Pro Cheerleader Blogger there on Friday. James, who runs the big one, the Pro Cheerleader Blog, was there as well and took a lot of great pictures as found at http://polarbearrepublic.com/images/2007/Aug/jills082407/index.html

There's some group shots as well as shots of a few Jills at once...and a lot of individual shots as well. Be sure to check it out. Also, if you like getting news and photos on other cheerleading squads besides the Jills and Bandettes, check his site out http://nflcheerleader.blogspot.com/

Titans game pics

August 24th was Kids day in Buffalo and what that meant for the Jills was an appearance by the majority of the Ambassador Squad at the Kids Day carnival in front of the stadium prior to the game and the opportunity to perform with the Jr Jills at halftime for the dance squads. The game itself was nothing to write home about as mistakes abounded for the home team Buffalo Bills. What the football team lacked in performance, the Jills more than made up for as 9 Jills made their 2007 debut after having last week off due to a troop visit to Iraq. In addition to Eileen, Stefanie, Jessica Z, Emily, Kaitlin B, Autumn, and calendar cover girl Jenica making a return, rookie Jill R made her debut and Melissa made her return after a year away from the sidelines. Enjoy these pics of Kids Day 2007 featuring the Buffalo Jills.Next up for the Jills is the previously postponed Beach party at Sunset Bay as well as the Swimsuit Calendar Release party at Club New York Friday before the home opener.

Buffalo Jills on CNN/SI.com

Preseason week 2 of SI.com's coverage of NFL Cheerleaders featured pictures of our own beautiful Buffalo Jills at http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0708/cheerleaders.nfl.preseason2/content.8.html

There's a group shot in there along with 3 pics of Jamie, 1 of Ayeshia, 1 of Amanda P, 1 of Katie C, 1 of Brianne, and 2 of Christina. Check it out!

Buffalo Jill of The Week Hayley F

We wrap up our look at some of our ex-Jills who have gone on elsewhere with someone who is still fresh in our memories. Hayley F was with the Jills for the 2005 season, cheering on Omarlla's line along with 3 other girls who are still on the squad...Brianne, Amanda P, and Rachael. She was also the sole rookie that season on the dance squad that the Jills put together solely for the purpose of dancing at events. After leaving the Jills last year, she left the Buffalo area but didn't go far as she became a dancer with the Cleveland Cavalier Girls for the 2006-2007 NBA season. She didn't rest on her laurels with the Cavalier Girls, either. Before the season started she was part of not one, but two lengthy overseas trips to visit the US armed forces. In mid-September, she went on a 12-day tour in Iraq and Kuwait and the day after coming back, shipped back out to China. http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/cavgirls_global_060907.html

She didn't return to the Cavalier Girls this season, however, so Cleveland fans were left with only a taste like we were in Buffalo. However, one of her goals is to open up her own dance studio for inner-city kids so maybe her influence will be felt by future generations of dancers. Check the files section of the webgroup (registration required) for some photos from Hayley's Jills and Cavalier Girls careers.

Beach party rescheduled

The Jills were scheduled to hold a beach party at Sunset Bay Beach resort in Irving, NY on Sunday, August 19th. Unfortunately, the weather wouldn't cooperate and the Beach Club was closed for the day. However, the Jills beach party was rescheduled for the 26th...so anyone who had planned to go on the 19th but bailed because of weather or the fair or something, here's your second chance to see some of the hottest women in Western New York at one of the hottest beach clubs around.
Also, coming up on September 7th at Club New York in Niagara Falls...the Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar Release Party and the Annual Jills Comedy Show is back....and is scheduled for October 5th at Club Paradise at the Clarion Hotel in Blasdell on McKinley Pkwy.

Falcons game pics

August 17th at Ralph Wilson Stadium was the beginning of a new era. It was not only the first time home fans would get to see top draft picks Marshawn Lynch and Paul Posluzsny, but it was also the first opportunity for a lot of fans to see the 2007-2008 Buffalo Jills squad in action. A number of the Jills were absent, primarily due to a trip to Afghanistan to visit the troops that was completed only 24 hours prior to the game. However, what the Jills lacked in number on Friday night, they more than made up for in enthusiasm and beauty. Pregame even saw 4 blonde bombshells from the Ambassador Squad taking a short trip to the parking lots to meet with fans. Judging from fans' reactions in the lot and in the game, the new squad went over incredibly well. Next up, a number of the Jills will be holding a beach party at Sunset Bay on the 19th and they then return to the Ralph, along with their absent squadmates as well as the Jr. Jills, on the 24th as the Bills host Eric Moulds & the Titans.

Buffalo Jills of The Week Hysha and Dianna

This week, we take a look at a pair of Rochester Knightingales. No, we haven't started following the Rochester squads as Buffalo has more than enough beautiful pro cheerleaders of its own. However, these two girls started their pro cheer careers in Buffalo with the Jills.

Hysha spent 2001-2002 on the sidelines at the Ralph after getting not 1, but 2 degrees from RIT. She's also the winner of a number of beauty pageant titles including Miss Black NY USA, Miss NY Galaxy, and Ms. American Elegance. She's spent 2 years so far as a member of the Knightingales and you can check out her bio at http://www.knighthawks.net/knightingales_bio.aspx?cheerleader_id=37

Dianna spent 2003-2004 with the Jills Ambassador Squad and is currently a science teacher as well as a dancer on not 1, but 2 pro dance squads in Rochester, NY. She's spent 2 years as a promotional model for the Knightingales and after a season as a promotional model with the Venom, she took the floor as a dancer cheering on the Rochester Rattlers MLL team in 2007. Check out her Knightingales bio at http://www.knighthawks.net/knightingales_bio.aspx?cheerleader_id=52 and her Venom bio at http://www.rochesterrattlers.com/community/dance/index.html?staff_id=21

Things to look forward to this weekend

The Jills have been putting in appearances all summer long as well as practicing twice a week since the squad was selected. This week, the public gets to see some of the results of all that practice as the Jills take the field Friday night for the Bills preseason home opener at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park. There's a couple differences this year as opposed to last. We won't find them pregame at the corners of Abbott and Southwestern...they apparently didn't get a deal worked out with those locations to sell calendars there this preseason...so there will be fewer Ambassador squad members on hand this week than normal...but Kelly and another Jill will be out there with Billy Buffalo. Also, as previously reported, nine of the dancers went overseas to entertain the troops in Qatar and Afghanistan. They won't be home til Thursday so they won't be required to be out on the sidelines Friday night...although if a few of them show up anyway, I wouldn't call it a big surprise...but the jet lag may be a deterrent for most of them.
Beyond the game, a group of the Jills will be making one of the area's most happening summer hot spots even hotter on Sunday. Sunset Bay and Cabana Sam's Beach Resort in Irving is known as one of the best places in Western New York to see plenty of beauties in bikinis. This Sunday, the Jills are having a beach party there to make the scenery there even hotter than usual. Party starts at 1pm.

2007 Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament pics

On August 13th, scores of golfers converged on Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster, NY for the 5th Annual Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament. Most all the Jills, with the obvious exceptions of those currently entertaining troops in Afghanistan, were on hand selling raffle tickets, handing out prizes and posing with golfers out on the course for pictures. In addition, some golfers won the opportunity to have some of the Jills accompany them on the course and Danielle, Amanda F, Katherine, Angelina, and Stacy weren't just there for good luck. Some of them showed off some of their own golfing prowess on the course. After the tournament, golfers were treated to a rousing dance performance by Omarlla, Aimee, Katie M, Christina, and Nicole during dinner before prizes, including a JP Losman autographed football, were handed out. All in all, a good sum of money was raised to help the Jills with some uniform expenses.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Tawnya V

This week, we take a look at a former Jill who's still cheering elsewhere. Vancouver-born Tawnya spent 4 years on the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium cheering from 1999-2002. In addition, she also spent 2003-2004 with our other pro cheerleading squad, the Bandettes. Nowadays, Tawnya is spending her Sundays on the sidelines at the Linc...Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia cheering on Takeo Spikes and the Eagles. She's entering her 2nd season with the squad and you can check out her profile (with wallpaper) at http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/cheerleaders/Cheerleader.asp?cheerleader_id=35 and her video profile from last season at http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/multimedia/index.asp?mm_file_id=3812&play_clip=y

Also, check out the files section of the webgroup (registration required) for a look at Tawnya over the years.

Dear Friends,

Sorry we haven't written in a while, we haven't been able to get to a computer. For the last two days, we have been stuck waiting in an airport waiting for our C130 to pick us up... when it finally did, we boarded the plane, but immediately had to evacuate because the engine was throwing flames out of the right propeller to the front of the plane! We have seen many camel spiders running wild, autumn still wants to catch one lol.. she's crazy. We did a show our show Wednesday night in front of 1,000 troops.. We pulled an air force colonel on stage for the dance contest and all the Jills helped him out a little bit. On this base there was ev en a TIM HORTON'S!!! We took a pic with some troops in front of the sign while holding our ice caps =) We've been doing a lot of tours and visiting with a lot of troops.. We are having the best time ever... oh yeah, one more thing... we went on a black water plane that can do all kinds of tricks and maneuvers.. unfortunately only one of us get air sick.. poor Jenica lol. We miss you all and are thinking about you everyday.. love you!!

Greetings from Doha, Qatar!

The plane ride over was great! It was 14 hours long but we had movies and tv shows on demand. Once we walked off the plane it was like hitting a wall of heat. It feels like you are holding a blow dryer on your face even at night. The living quarters on the base in Qatar were really nice. We had phones and tvs in our rooms as well as air conditioning! The base was an R and R site for soldiers serving in the Middle East. (Rest and Relaxation) They are actually allowed to drink here, only three beers though. There was a huge swimming pool and lounge areas that looked like night clubs. We all bought stunning swimwear, compliments of the PX, and spent two hours beating the troops at volley ball! We were able to meet the Colonel on base and take a picture with him. The picture gets put into a special book of morale visitors. We signed next to our picture and were able to flip through it. Some that signed before us include other cheerleaders, bands, and even George and Barbara Bush! We were honored to be a part of something so special to this location. We performed our first show at the airforce base. The stage that we performed on was amazing. It was also the location where General Franks announced to the media that we were going to war! The show went so well. You would all be so proud. There were about 500 troops there cheering us on! We are about to board a C-130 heading for Afghanistan, wish us luck! We will be in touch soon. If the rest of the trip goes as well as our first day we will be making such a difference here. Hope all is well at home!
Eileen is making a great fearless leader!
Love you all, Emily, Autumn, Kaitlin B, Melissa, Jill R, Stefanie J, Jenica, Jessica Z, Eileen

Buffalo Jill of The Week Stephanie M

This week, we complete our look at the women who guide our ladies on the sidelines with Jills Director Stephanie M. Her dedication to the squad comes from having been on the squad herself a number of years ago. We won't embarass her by saying when but short of the hairstyle, she doesn't look any older than she did in the calendar we found at Toy Town. Since taking the reins as director in 2002, she's done a lot of work to improve and increase the public image of the Jills, so much so that the new position of coordinator was invented last year to ease the workload. Every Jill now is featured in the calendar whereas a lot of squads only feature one per month. This helped the calendar practically sell out during the 2005 season. The Jr. Jills program seems to grow larger every season and she introduced the Ambassador Squad program to the Jills, allowing girls who may lack in dance skills but have an outstanding ability to professionally mingle and converse with others to still realize their dream of becoming a professional cheerleader. Be sure to check out the files section of the webgroup (registration required) for a look at Stephanie from the past few years.

August 4th...meet some Jills

The Jills will be in two spots this Saturday afternoon. At Adventure Speedway from 12-2, they'll be there with Shredd and Ragan's Jim Jacka.

Then, a group of them will also be in attendence at Mickey Rat's in Angola. Last year, the girls participated in a tug of war along with some other activities.

Buffalo Jills gather to celebrate 40 years of thrills . . . and chills!

If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan, you’ll understand how Jo Anne Gaulin felt the summer of 1967.
She watched her favorite team trade their star player — quarterback Jack Kemp. She saw fellow Bills supporters grumble as they sat in the cold at the Rockpile to watch the games. “I felt we needed some color,” she said. So she came up with an idea.
It came to fruition a few months later — clad in knee-length, blue pleated skirts, turtlenecks, blue sweaters and the trademark white boots.
Paulin is the founder of the Buffalo Jills, the Bill’s famous cheerleading squad.

Training Camp pics

The first Saturday of Buffalo Bills training camp was the scene where two items of interest of Jills fans were unveiled to the public. First off, Pro Bowl Jill Aimee showed off a new jacket, in a design that won't be available to the public until 2008. We'll see the Jills sporting the jackets, as well as a few other new items, this fall as a way of giving the public a preview of Reebok's new designs. In addition to the new Jills gear, the much-anticipated 2007-2008 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar showed up at the Bills store just before the start of the afternoon session. It features 41 of the area's most beautiful young women posing in bikinis and other swimwear in photos taken right in Western New York.
