Buffalo Jill of The Week Kelly

This week, we take a look at the captain of the Ambassador Squad. Ambassador Jills are required to have a strong ability to professionally mingle and converse with others. What that entails is someone whose personality not only puts people around her at ease, but actually draws people to her. Anyone who knows Kelly knows that she fits that definition perfectly. She can be as zany and nuts as anyone else at a party but also knows when to turn that part of her off and be serious when the situation calls for it. Those personality attributes served her well in the military as she spent 9 1/2 years with the US Air Force and spent a portion of that time recruiting others into the service as well. Bandettes Perform at Disco

The Buffalo Bandettes were guest performers at the 14th annual World's Largest Disco at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center this weekend.
The Bandettes performed two dances on the main stage of the largest dance floor in New York State, dressed in their own disco costumes. This was the first performance for the 2008 Buffalo Bandettes, who have been guest performers at the Disco for more than four years.

Pictures from Football Night In Buffalo

This was a game not meant to write home about and for that, the Buffalo Jills must be commended. Players failed to execute in every phase of the game, coaches had the players ill-prepared, and a full and loud stadium started emptying out before halftime. Yet, despite their obvious disappointment, the Buffalo Jills put on their smiles and put on wonderful performances throughout the entire game. Their efforts deserved a lot better performance from the team they were cheering on.

Prior to the game, the Ambassador Squad looked to heat things up in the cold weather by selling their sizzling hot swimsuit calendars as well as gloves at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge tailgate parties.

Next up for the Jills are some appearances at Zebb's for MNF (check 97Rock.com for details) and then a return to the Ralph on December 9th as the Bills face off against the hated Fish.

2008 Buffalo Bandettes Tryouts

The Buffalo Bandettes held open tryouts last weekend for the 2008 squad.
Hopefuls met at Gold's gym for the chance to become a member of one of Buffalo's elite dance teams, and cheer on their favorite lacrosse stars.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Jill R

This rookie Jill started off the season dancing on Aimee's line but her personal schedule has gotten so hectic she wasn't able to keep dancing. Luckily, there was still enough time in Jill R's schedule for her to join her twin sister Joy on the Ambassador Squad and still be a valuable member of the squad. Maybe next season she'll be able to return to dancing though, as she's been involved in gymnastics and cheerleading since she was a little girl. She only spent two games dancing (the Titans preseason and the Broncos opener) due to the fact that she was the sole rookie in the group of Jills sent over to entertain the troops in Afghanistan in early August. Those girls got home the evening before the preseason home opener and were given the game off after their 12-day trip.

While we certainly hope she continues spending her Sundays in the fall at Ralph Wilson Stadium as a Buffalo Jill, I'm sure, in the next few years, that heart rates will be going up in the doctor's office when she finishes her education. For a career that is known as a popular field, Jill is looking to become one of the few Jills the past few years to be entering the nursing field. Bandettes welcome back three former squad members

This year, the Bandettes squad is going to carry 16 girls on their roster. Ten of those girls are returning vets from last year but in actuality, there are 13 vets on the roster. Those other three cheered on the Bandits in previous years and decided to come back for 2008 to cheer the Bandits on to a title. Those 3 vets are Karla, Casey, and Korinne.
Karla was on the Bandettes for 5 seasons so she's hardly a stranger but she also spent 2000-2002 as a member of the Buffalo Jills as well. She's also posted quite frequently on the webgroup giving us the perspective of one of the girls whose work we promote here.
Casey's pro cheerleading remained indoors starting with 2 years on the Bombshells and then 2 with the Bandettes. She was also a member of the short-lived Buffalo Rush squad which cheered on the Buffalo Rapids basketball team. The Rapids are now known as the Silverbacks and play in the ABA at Buffalo State's sports arena.
Korinne is also a 3-sport cheerleader, having spent 4 seasons as a Bombshell, 1 as a Bandette, and 2 1/2 seasons as a Buffalo Jill. A word to the wise, when seeing Korinne for the first time...wear sunglasses as she's always looking to blind people with that smile of hers...lol.
Stay Tuned as a video was shot at tryouts on Sunday and we'll see all the new and returning faces...10 vets, 3 past vets, and 3 rookies.

Former NFL cheerleader named Silverbabe advisor and choreographer

The Miami Valley Silverbacks will have a new face directing the Silverbabes for the 2008 season.Elizabeth Morgan, the founder and Director of Expressions Dance Arts Inc. in St. Thomas and London, Ontario, Canada, has joined the Silverbacks as the Advisor and choreographer of the 2008 Silverbabe squad.“The Silverbacks have a great three-year history already and an impressive involvement in the community”, says Morgan. “They are a solid club with great talent, both in terms of players, management, coaching staff and cheerleaders. It is a pleasure to add a little fresh choreography into an already entertaining and exciting family football experience.” Morgan choreographs for professional dance teams across North America, including the Canadian Football League Toronto Argos, American Indoor Football League Rebelles and North American Football League London Silverbacks. Buffalo Jill of The Week Omarlla

With a captivating smile and an outgoing personality, Omarlla has been with the Jills for 8 seasons and, like Eileen, keeps getting better. She's been a captain for several seasons and was the Jills' Pro Bowl selection following the 2003 season. In addition, she and Aimee were the two Jills selected to represent the squad in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs televised on NFL Network. Surprisingly, for someone who looks so good in a bikini, she didn't even know how to swim until just before the competition when Aimee gave her a few lessons. Learning new things comes with the territory for Omarlla as she's not only an accomplished teacher, but she has her Master's degree in Elementary Education and plans on going back for her PhD as well. If this former Buffalo Bandette (2 seasons) puts the effort into it the same way she does everything else, she'll graduate with her PhD at the top of her class. Bengals Game pics

With the Bills defense facing a potent offense headlined by Jills fan Chad Johnson (who gave Aimee and Omarlla high marks in last year's NFL Cheerleader Playoffs Dance Competition), the Bills offense had to produce and behind the efforts of the trio of Losman, Lynch, and Evans, they did just that in an exciting 33-21 win.The excitement wasn't limited to the field as the Jills, sporting some of their new jackets (designs available to the public in 2008), kept the crowd rocking with their sideline routines and dance performances (including a halftime routine in the scoreboard endzone) all game long. Pregame had the Jills in the Fieldhouse and at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties selling and signing calendars as well as posing for photos with their adoring fans.Next up for the Jills, after appearances at Zebb's for MNF games, is a return to the Ralph to help cheer on the Bills against the hated New England Patriots.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Eileen

This time around, we take a look at no ordinary vet. Eileen is one of 2 Jills left who started out in 2000. That's 8 seasons and she isn't slowing down by any means. If anything, quite the opposite is true and she's actually getting better as the time goes by. She could very well go for the record as far as seasons for a Jill. Quite a change from her original plans of moving to NYC to finish school...which she had planned in her rookie year. This is her second year as Omarlla's co-captain and one of her achievements as a Jill was getting selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2005 season. She was also one of those selected to perform for the troops in Iraq this past spring and, if that wasn't enough, headed up the group that went to Afghanistan in August. You can read more about Eileen at
