Jenna, Jaclyn, and Amanda F at Bandits-Wings game 2006 |
This week, we take a look at a BvB player who not only spent time with the Buffalo Jills, but with the Buffalo Bandettes as well. Amanda F joined the Jills in 2001 and spent 3 seasons on the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium before taking a few years off and then joining the Bandettes along with one of her Jills squadmates, Marissa D to spend 2006-07 dancing at HSBC Arena. She wasn't done by any means nor should she have been seeing as how she's been dancing since the age of 5. In 2010, she answered the call to be one of several Buffalo Jills alumni joining the Jills and the Bandettes in Toronto for the huge halftime performance with the rock group Hinder. She followed that up the following spring back at HSBC Arena with several other Buffalo Bandettes alumni for a combined performance with the Bandettes as well as their own performance. This will be Amanda's 3rd year with Blondes Vs Brunettes and we'll hopefully see her back playing this year as she had to sit out last year's contest with an injury. Away from the public spotlight, she's a Histology Technician with a nursing degree and is working on her Master's in nursing. It's said that the health care industry is a strong one in Buffalo and there's nowhere that's more in evidence when you see beautiful intelligent women like Amanda there along with other Jills alumni like Jill R (2007-08), Ayeshia (2007-09), Rebecca, (2011), as well as Bandette Noelle. Noelle, Kirsten, and Chelsea at Bandits-Wings game in January |
From the Bandettes comes a photo from the Bandits-Wings game back in January. Each line took up spots in opposing wings of the 100 level as fans came up the escalators for the game to greet them. Posing for a photo near the west bank of escalators are Noelle, Kirsten, and Chelsea.
