Bandette of The Week Chelsea

This week, we take a look at 5th year vet Chelsea as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line on gamedays, she's stepped up into a co-captain's role, a role she's long been well-suited for. The reason I say that is because on the Bandettes, a captain or co-captain is like a big sister to her linemates and Chelsea was already a devoted big sister even before joining the Bandettes. Her little sister was a common fixture at post-game parties when they were held at Pearl Street and was even with her in Toronto at the big halftime event with Hinder and the Jills. Chelsea didn't view having her little sister along as a chore but she did ensure her sister enjoyed herself all the time, which I'm sure she still does these days whenever they spend time together. Something tells me that they don't spend enough time together for Chelsea's taste. She thinks her biggest weakness is caring too much but truthfully, if more people were as caring as she is, I think the world would be a much better place. I've seen first hand and heard stories about how she's gone above and beyond for others...she truly sets a great example for others. You can see all of Chelsea's photos at https://buffaloprocheerbuffalobandettes.shutterfly.com/bandettesindividualpics/1198 Chelsea's secondary photo is from the Bandits-Swarm game when LB's line was signing autographs in the concourse before the game. Shown smiling for a photo are Kelsey and Chelsea.

Bandette of The Week Chelsea

This week, we take a look at 4th year vet Chelsea as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Known as one of the biggest camera hams on the squad, Chelsea is a lot more than that. With 3+ seasons as a Bandette under her belt, she's taken more of a leadership role of late, helping Kirsten out and acting as sort of a big sister to her younger less experienced squadmates. Of course Chelsea as a big sister comes naturally as, in her rookie season, she regularly brought her little sister not just to games, but to the Bandits post-game parties when they were held at the more family-friendly Pearl Street Grill and Brewery. She even had her along with her when the Bandettes performed alongside the Jills in Toronto in 2010. You can read more about Chelsea at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=Chelsea Chelsea's secondary photo comes from the recent game against the Knighthawks. Before the game, Alicia grabbed Chelsea to pose for a pic with her before heading out for their performance.

Vote for Chelsea as NLL Girl of The Week!

It's that time again as ILLIndoor.com has started up their NLL Girl of The Week competitions. Similar to last year, a girl from opposing squads will be pitted against one another each week with the winner advancing to the next round of the competition. Last year, rookie Bandette and camera ham Stephanie O brought home the title of NLL Girl Of The Year. To start this season's competition, 4th year vet Chelsea, also a noted camera ham, faces off against Jacq of the Calgary Drill Crew. The voting goes through next Tuesday so vote for Chelsea and vote often. Let's keep the title in Buffalo!!

Bandette of The Week Chelsea

This week, we feature 3rd year vet Chelsea as our Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Kirsten's line on gamedays, Chelsea used to be known as the squad's biggest camera ham, a spot now belonging to the girl dancing right next to her, Stephanie O. That being said, Chelsea certainly hasn't been a slouch when it comes to getting into pictures, which is obviously a good thing for a photographer to deal with. Soft spoken in nature, she's really big on family and treats the rest of the Bandettes like family. She's the type who's generally pretty happy most of the time and does her best to treat everyone well and make them happy as well. That's something that will serve her well when she finishes getting her degree and pursues her career as a radiology technologist. Speaking from experience, it's not a lot of fun staying still while getting an x-ray so I can see Chelsea being able to help patients relax better before the procedure. You can read more about Chelsea at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=Chelsea Chelsea's secondary photo comes from the NLL All-Star game. Prior to the game, the Bandettes signed their new posters and handed them out to the fans coming into the game as well as posing for photos. Shown in this photo are the Bandettes' 2 biggest camera hams, Stephanie O and Chelsea.

Bandette of The Week Chelsea

This week, we take a look at 2nd year vet Chelsea as our Bandette of The Week. This statuesque blonde dances on Justina's line on gamedays and the biggest thing she was noted for last season was her eagerness to get in front of the camera. This season, she's been a bit more relaxed about it...knowing that the camera is going to find her whether she tries to get in front of it or not. That being said, I must confess to kicking myself for not getting any pics of her in Toronto when I talked to her after the Bills game in which she and the rest of the Bandettes joined the Jills, Jills alumni, and other dancers for the big halftime performance. Chelsea is a girl who loves helping others and hopes to work at Roswell Park one day as a Radiology Technologist. Chelsea says she's happiest when she's with friends and family, but I think if she had to choose just one person to be with, it would be her little sister. Last year when the Bandits postgame parties were family-friendly, her little sister was a regular fixture at the Bandettes' table and she even accompanied her to Toronto. From my vantage point, Chelsea's not the type to see watching after her little sister as a chore by any means and is exactly the type of big sister any little girl would love to have. Chelsea's secondary pic is from the January game against the Toronto Rock. Shown dancing in the 3rd quarter are Kirsten, Chelsea, and Noelle.

Vote for Chelsea!

With the NLL season in full swing, the NLL has started their Girl of The Week voting and this week, 2nd year veteran Bandette (and lover of the camera) Chelsea goes up against a girl from Boston and one from Colorado. We all know the Bandettes are THE premier dance team in the NLL and did either of those other two girls perform in the biggest dance/music halftime show outside the Super Bowl like Chelsea did? Obviously voting for blonde beauty Chelsea is a must so let's get to http://www.nll.com/ and cast your votes. Read more about why to vote for Chelsea at http://www.bandits.com/bbio.asp?bandID=Chelsea
Don't forget, the Bandits Home Opener is Saturday night at HSBC Arena at 7:30...you'll be able to see Chelsea and all of the Bandettes in action for a game for the first time this season.

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week

This week’s 1st Jills photo of The Week comes from Jills 1st cuts and features a mixture of dancers and ambassadors. However, with the exception of the incomparable Murissa, they all spent last season as Jills Ambassadors. From left to right in the back we have 3rd year dancer Murissa, 2nd year ambassador Ruby, 2nd year vet and 1st year dancer Nicole, 2nd year ambassador Alyssa, 2nd year vet and 1st year dancer Kristen, and 2nd year ambassador Courteney. 2nd year ambassador Lindsay and 4th year ambassador Laura pose in the front.

Our second photo comes from the Saturday Bills draft party held for season ticket holders at the Bills Fieldhouse and features a pair of beautiful rookie dancers on the Jills. We already introduced you to Emily, a girl who had a pretty good birthday this year, having spent it at the Jills’ 1st major event of the season, their Open Practice at the Fieldhouse at the start of June. Jen is one of the youngest girls on the squad and wasted little time in trying out for the Jills almost as soon as she turned 18, it seems. Judging by her already stunning good looks and knowing that Buffalo Jills generally get better looking as they age, it’s kinda scary how beautiful she’ll likely get over the course of her Jills career.

From the Bandettes, we have a photo from the Pearl Street Postgame party following the April 10th game against the Toronto Rock. Following the win, several Bandettes celebrated with players and fans alike with dinner and, for those over 21, drinks. Shown seated here are Chelsea, Jessica, Meghan, and Stephanie. Chelsea and Stephanie were rookies this year while Jessica finished up her 3rd season and Meghan her 5th and likely final season.

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week

Continuing our look at the beautiful young women who will be gracing the sidelines and tailgate parties this fall, we bring you a photo from the Open Workshop where prospective 2010 Buffalo Jills learned what they needed to know to make the squad. Captains, of course, didn't need to try out to make the squad and were on hand at the workshop to help the prospective Jills learn what they needed to and here is a pair of them. Omarlla and Eileen need no introduction to anyone who's followed the Jills this millennium as they'll be going into their 11th seasons together. I remember when they were cute rookies and now look at them. I thought women were supposed to lose their looks as they age...not get even better like these two have. Their 10th season together was a record-setter and the Bills posted up a nice story about them the day before the final game of the season. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Two-Jills-celebrate-ten-seasons/f02bf342-f924-466c-9426-591a2b3e7368

Our second photo comes from the Bills Open Practice held at the stadium a few weeks ago. Members of the Jills dance squad greeted fans as they came through the gates while handing them rosters and schedules as well as posing for pictures and signing autographs. After that, they took to the field for their 1st large scale performance on the Ralph Wilson Stadium turf as seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xqttC-RmtE Shown posing for a photo here are Natalie and Loren. Natalie is a rookie on the squad and was the girl the Buffalo Bills chose to write a blog about the audition process. You can check it out at http://buffalojills.net/article.asp?id=1761784. Loren is in her 2nd season on the squad and as seen on Sundays, is quite the energetic dancer. No big surprise given her 16 years in competitive dancing.

Your next chance to meet Omarlla, Eileen, Natalie, and Loren along with the entire Buffalo Jills squad is the 8th Annual Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament. This year's event is being held August 2 at Williamsville's Westwood Country Club. Check out all the details at http://buffalojills.net/Article.asp?id=1834972&spid=34534

From the Bandettes comes a photo from after the April game against the Colorado Mammoth. Shown smiling for the camera are Kirsten, Alexis, and Chelsea. Kirsten and Alexis just finished their 2nd seasons on the squad while Chelsea was a rookie in 2010. Following each home game, Pearl Street Grill and Brewery has hosted a post-game party following every Bandits home game and several Bandits players as well as Bandettes dancers are in attendance every game.

Bandette of The Week Chelsea

This week's Bandette of The Week is 1 of 4 rookies currently on the squad and perhaps is second only to Lauren S when it comes to keeping an eye out for the camera. Or it could very well be that Chelsea is number one in that area already the way she seems to know when the camera is pointed in her general direction. But beyond her love of the camera, this beautiful blonde also loves helping others and hopes to work at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as a Radiologist when she finishes her schooling. Known by her classmates as an outgoing, bubbly cheerleader type, it's rather fitting that she joined up with the Bandettes. She's still outgoing and bubbly and obviously cheering on and dancing for the only team in Buffalo with league championships more recent than the 60s. You can read more about Chelsea at http://www.bandits.com/profileB.asp?bandetteID=201006
