Buffalo Jills 2009 Fundraiser pics

Last March, the Buffalo Jills held a fundraiser for their Calendar Shoot to help cut costs on the trip they held this past May. It was a big success with 25 of the 2007 squad in attendance. For the 2009 trip, the fundraiser was bumped up in an effort to cut travel costs even more and 42 of the 45 girls on the squad helped the few hundred guests fill SoHo even more than we filled it in March. They even had to open up the 2nd floor patio bar this time around to handle the crowd. In addition to the larger squad, there was another addition to the event this time around. Anyone who's been to a large Jills event the past several years knows that there's usually a big dance performance involved and with the extra planning time for this event, they put together 2 dance routines performed in the 2nd floor patio bar.
Next up for the Jills are the away game parties with 103.3 The Edge at Rhino's in Orchard Park. The Jills next return to the Ralph on October 19th as the Bills play host to the Chargers but then, the following weekend, October 25th is the date and Club Paradise is the place to be as the Jills put on their annual Swimsuit Calendar Release Party.

NFL.com photos from Week 3

NFL.com has a few photos up in their gallery from Week 3 against the Raiders. Check them out at http://www.nfl.com/photo/photo-gallery?chronicleId=09000d5d80afd049

Buffalo Jill of The Week Murissa

This week's Jill of The Week is, happily, someone who isn't going anywhere soon. This is Murissa's rookie year on the squad and can be found on Omarlla's line between Omarlla and Christina. A little-known fact about the Jills is that rookies on the squad get a "buddy," a veteran squadmate who they can turn to for advice whenever they need it on adapting to becoming a professional cheerleader. Besides dancing between 2 captains on gamedays, Murissa also has Ambassador Squad captain Kelly as her "buddy." But beyond what she's got going for her on the squad, Murissa is a very outgoing young lady who loves making people smile whether it be from her singing or from laughter from her sarcastic wit. She's also a self-described princess who has, sorry guys, found her prince. You can read more about Murissa at http://buffalojills.net/bios/murissa.html and don't forget to check out her 97Rock photo gallery at http://www.97rock.com/Article.asp?id=897693

Jills Cheerleaders visit Blue Jays

The Buffalo Jills cheerleaders visited the Blue Jays in Toronto on Tuesday to help promote the historic Bills vs. Dolphins game at the Rogers Centre to take place on December 7, 2008.

The Jills kicked-off the Toronto Blue Jays baseball game with an official let’s play ball announcement, posed for photos with Ace (Blue Jays mascot), took part in a t-shirt toss with the J Force and took to the field to lead the fans in the 7th inning stretch.

Bills-Raiders pics

On an overcast day in late September, the Bills played host to an old rival from the AFL days in the form of the Oakland Raiders. Going into the game with a 2-0 record, the Bills and their fans had high hopes but thanks to an inspired Raiders team, some questionable officiating, and horrid play in the first half by Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters, the Bills fell behind by a score of 16-7 in the 3rd quarter. But, thanks to a raucous crowd, inspired partly by the inclusion on the Wall of Fame at halftime of All-World DE Bruce Smith, the Bills pulled together and pulled out a last second 24-23 win.
Obviously the inspiration didn't come exclusively from Bruce, but also from the fact that the Bills have some of the most beautiful women around dancing on the sidelines. From pregame, where the Ambassadors were swamped by photographers and calendar-seekers, to the game, where Amanda F and Sarah escorted Billy Buffalo and the dancers helped keep the crowd excited, the Jills are contunually increasing in popularity every week.

Next up for the Jills is their 2009 Swimsuit Calendar Fundraiser at SoHo on September 27th from 6-9. Admission is $20 which covers all you can eat pizza, wings, beer, and wine as well as the chance to mingle with 46 of the most beautiful women in the region.
The next two Sundays, the best place to see the Jills is Rhino's Rock Bar in Orchard Park, home of the 103.3 The Edge Away Game Parties.
The Jills, and Bills, next take the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium on October 19th as LaDainian Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers come to town.

97 Rock-a-thon pics

As a part of a telethon to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western NY, 97Rock's morning radio guru, Larry Norton, stayed on the air from 6am Thursday until 10am Friday. The telethon raised over $255,600 for the foundation pushing the station's 14-year total to $2.175M.
Working with this telethon were not only Jickster, the #2 Jills fan in existence, but 3 of the beautiful members of the Buffalo Jills Ambassador Squad. The following is a link to some pics of the telethon, including some pics of Amanda F, Tiffany, and Laura.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Toi

This week, we take a look at another one of our rookies on the Jills. Toi was one of the Ambassadors on the squad and, unfortunately, we never got a bio from her. Another unfortunate thing is that she was an early departure from the squad. One thing can can say about her is to bring up her dedication. We've had girls on the squad that have traveled over an hour and a half to get to practices. The 2006 FHM model from the Jills, Amanda P, traveled almost 2 hours to each practice during her 3 years on the squad. And that was in good weather and road conditions. Toi topped that, however. Her treks to practice took over 3 hours each way because she drove up from Pittsburgh, PA. You can check out her official Jills page at http://buffalojills.net/bios/toi.html

Jags game at Rhinos

Last week, the Bills put in a dominating performance at home against the Seahawks while the Jacksonville Jaguars were handled by Tennessee. This week, the Bills went on the road in Jacksonville into triple digit temperatures and after controlling the first half of the game, fell behind in the 3rd thanks to an efficient Jags offense. But the game is played with 4 quarters and the visiting Bills came back in the 4th with a touchdown pass to rookie James Hardy and a Rian Lindell FG to ice the game.
When the Bills are on the road, it leaves the Jills free to either relax and watch the games or to make appearances. Obviously, big away game parties can't be complete without the Jills and 103.3 The Edge, one of the primary sponsors of the Jills, puts on a party every away game at Rhino's Rock Bar on Southwestern Boulevard in Orchard Park, only 1 1/4 miles from the Ralph. This week, rookie Ambassadors Brandi and Alison were on hand to sell raffle tickets, calendars, and pose for pictures with the Bills faithful during the game.
Next up for the Jills, they're back at the Ralph cheering on the Bills as they take on the visiting Raiders on the 21st. This day has extra meaning as the NFL's all-time sack leader, Bruce Smith, gets his place on the Wall of Fame at halftime.
After that is the Jills 2009 Calendar Shoot Fundraiser at SoHo on Chippewa. Tickets are $20 and cover all you can eat pizza, wings, beer, and wine from 6-9pm on the 27th. All proceeds go to help fund the 2009 Swimsuit Calendar Shoot.
The Jills are back at Rhinos on the 28th for the Bills-Cards game at 4:05pm.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Kristin B

This week, we look at one of our rookies as the Jill of The Week. Kristin B is a dancer on Nicole's line on the end next to Holly and took a different route to the squad than many young ladies have. A lot of girls will try head straight for the pro ranks fresh out of high school, or at least while still in college. Kristin waited until she not only graduated college, but got her master's degree as well. She thinks of herself as dedicated and the fact that she kept dancing while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout college speaks volumes about that dedication. She's currently using her degree in two ways, both as a teacher and also working for her city's youth department, a group that works to enrich the lives of the city's youth and their families through recreational, educational, and cultural activities. You can read more about Kristin at http://www.buffalojills.net/bios/kristinB.html

Buffalo Bills Home Opener pics

On the 5th anniversary of the Bills' drubbing of the Patriots* by a score of 31-0, the Bills once again provided the raucous Bills faithful a reason to cheer as they dominated the visiting Seattle Seahawks by a score of 34-10 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in rainy conditions and temperatures that made it seem more like mid-October than early September.
While the rain was a downer for the 2 1/2 quarters that it was coming down, 2 things kept the crowd pumped all day long. In addition to the performance of the Buffalo Bills, the beautiful members of the Buffalo Jills kept the crowd interested from pregame til near the end of the game. The Ambassador Squad was swamped at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge tailgates by fans wanting photos and swimsuit calendars and it probably took a good 20 minutes for Kelly, Brandi, and Alison to make it over to the Coors Light Tailgate Party right in front of the stadium due to fan requests for pictures and calendars. Then it was the dancers' time to shine as they first helped with the Fan Food Drive and then took to the field to put on amazing performances all game long.

Coming up next for the Jills
Away games at Rhino's in Orchard Park with 103.3 The Edge
September 21, the Bills place all-world DE Bruce Smith on the Wall of Fame at halftime of the Bills-Raiders game at Ralph Wilson Stadium
September 27th, the Jills invade SoHo on Chippewa from 6-9 for their 2009 Calendar Shoot Fundraiser. Tickets are $20 and you can get them from any Buffalo Jill or at the door.

Buffalo Jill of The Week Nicole

This week, we take a look at the newest Jills captain as our Jill of The Week. This is Nicole's 5th season on the squad and spent 2 seasons as a co-captain before getting promoted to running her own line this year. It should be no surprise that she got the gig, either. Besides landing the cover of the calendar 2 seasons ago, she cheered later than any of her squadmates last season due to her selection to the Pro Bowl and cheered on the AFC to a 31-28 win over the NFC in February. But before all that, she started dancing at the age of 3 and performed in many National level dance competitions and received a variety of awards for outstanding performance. You can read more about Nicole at

More from the Bills-Lions preseason game

We were joined on Thursday by the illustrious James Blakey, who along with Sasha Williams, runs the Pro Cheerleader Blog. It's a site similar to the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog (and in fact, I modeled the blog after their blog). On their blog, they collect up info from not only around the NFL, but from pro leagues around the world. Check their site out at http://nflcheerleader.blogspot.com/
From a seat in 115, he snapped a bunch of shots of our beautiful Buffalo Jills. Check everything out at http://nflcheerleader.blogspot.com/2008/09/nfl-pre-season-week-4-buffalo-jills.html
