Congrats to Brianna and to Ashley!

First up, congratulations to rookie Bandette Brianna V, who scored a quarterfinal win in the NLL Girl of The Week series. This brunette beauty, who'd love the money that Lea Michelle, her celeb look-a-like, makes, won by over 3500 votes and landed a spot in the semi-finals. Voting opens a week from today!

On the Jills alumni front, Ashley W, who was with the Jills in 2008 and part of 2009, spent the 2012 season as a member of the Carolina TopCats. However, she wasn't just a member of the squad as she was elected Rookie of The Year by her squadmates following the season! Ashley's not leaving it at that as she made it through the tryout process that finished Monday night and is returning to the TopCats for a second season!

Bandette of The Week Amanda C

This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Amanda C as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. A self-admitted risk-taker, Amanda's not the type of girl to bemoan the results if things don't go exactly as planned. Her biggest strength is making the best of any situation and when she got named as a Bandettes Ambassador instead of a dancer, she made the best of it and even showed some signs of being a bit of a camera ham like Stephanie and Chelsea to an extent. Buffalo Jill of The Week Lindsey V

This week, we take a look at rookie Ambassador Lindsey V as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. A political science and history major in college, she'd love to be either an author or the host of her own show on the History Channel. She's already traveled to Paris so she's got some 1st-hand knowledge of that going for her. It was kind of a last minute decision to go to this year's Draft Party. This year, the Bills had 2 draft parties,  but instead of hosting premium seat holders on Thursday and season ticket holders on Friday, they brought everyone in on Thursday to two different areas. Premium seat holders were allowed into the Fieldhouse for a free buffet, presumably decent beer...lol, and the chance to see Coach Doug Marrone address the fans after the Bills made their selection.  As a season ticket holder, 18 years now, I went to the Jim Kelly Club and was immediately greeted by Kristina and 3 rookie Jills. It was a bit difficult to get any photos right there so I apologize to Kristina, still wearing her beautiful smile, and her squadmates for that.
There was another group of Jills in the Jim Kelly Club as well, populated by 2 rookies and 2 2nd year vets. Ashley and Gabrielle were the vets and while I'm not sure of one rookie's name (Ashley going off her jacket?) the other rookie is an unconventional rookie, having spent the spring of 2012 as a Buffalo Bandette!

It's the 2nd rd of the NLL Girl of The Year tournament and rookie dancer Brianna V, after winning her 1st rd matchup, is in the running going up against Leah from the Colorado Wild Bunch. The proverbial NLL Girl of The Year crown currently resides in Buffalo atop the head of 2nd year camera ham Stephanie O. The Bandits may be out of the playoffs but the Bandettes can still win a championship by the fans voting for the Bandettes' Lea Michelle look-alike often.

The Bandettes at the 2013 Bandits Finale

After a big win in Washington last Saturday night, the Buffalo Bandits returned home to face off against the Rochester Knighthawks with a chance of getting into the playoffs, even after the rough season so far. A win would lock up a playoff spot while a Washington win over Philly would've also earned the Bandits a home playoff game. Well, the Stealth fulfilled their end of the bargain later in the evening but it was all for naught as the Bandits, after establishing an early lead, fell to their Thruway rivals by a score of 10-9 in front of a record crowd of 19,070 on Fan Appreciation Night.

The Bandettes performed at a high level all night long, even short a few girls. Brianna N jumped in from her Ambassador Role to perform along with the dancers, showing she's got the moves to go along with her beauty.

Next up for the Bandettes, while they're done with Bandits games for several months, there will still be some appearances as well as a contest they're still involved in. Last year, Stephanie O won the NLL Girl of The Year crown and this year, rookie Brianna V is still in the running for the 2013 Title with a 2nd rd matchup coming up soon. Bandette of The Week MaKenzie

This week, we take a look at rookie dancer MaKenzie as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line on gamedays, MaKenzie's personality can be summed up in one word...delightful. She's obviously a cutie but she's also thoughtful and friendly and loving not only getting to perform in front of the greatest fans in the NLL, but the friends she's been making through the squad. While it seems her greatest bond has been with fellow rookie Danielle, her outgoing and loud personality makes her easy for all to get along with. Currently in sales, she plans on pursuing a career as a physical therapist and helping a lot of people recover from injuries, whether it be an athlete trying to resume his career or average people trying to get their lives on track after suffering an injury. Buffalo Jill of The Week Lindsey C

This week, we look at Lindsey C as our Buffalo Jill of The Week. Currently starting her 4th season on the Jills, Lindsey is beginning her 1st season as a co-captain. Her making the jump to co-captain should be no big surprise to anyone who knows her. Working at a local non-profit organization, her role is in fundraising and who could say no to her pretty smile? She’s also regularly active with the Jacquie For All Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping fight Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. NFL Schedule released

With the NFL and Bills schedule now released, we now know when the 2013 Buffalo Jills will be performing at Ralph Wilson Stadium and, sadly, at the Rogers Centre, as the Toronto deal was extended.
Leading the Jills dancers will be Christina, Lisa, and Emily with Lindsey C, Melissa, and Jenny as their co-captains. Regarding the Ambassador Squad, I'm not sure who the captains will be. 2012 only had 3 vets on the Ambassador Squad and Laura and Alyssa B are both confirmed to have retired.

Bandette of The Week Brianna V

This week, we take a look at rookie beauty Brianna V as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on Kirsten's line on gamedays, Brianna is currently waiting for her 2nd rd matchup in this year's NLL Girl of The Week competition after winning her 1st rd competition. She says she wants to move somewhere warm one day but there are two problems with that, besides not being a Bandette anymore when she leaves. For one, Mighty Taco, her favorite food, is a Western NY staple and they only ship certain items. For another, she says her biggest strength is helping others, which makes her fit into Buffalo, known as the City of Good Neighbors, better than anywhere else. Dancing on Valerie's line between Val and Jacki on gamedays, Kelsey is a future teacher with a focus in Spanish who loved her time on Val's line in 2012...and with those girls beside her, who can blame her? Like Kelsey of the Bandettes, profiled as Bandette of The Week last week, she hopes to own her own daycare center in the future. On Sunday April 14th, Giancarlo's Sicilian Steakhouse and Pizzeria will be hosting a live viewing of The Amazing Race with the stars of the show (and Buffalo’s own), Max and Katie Bichler.

They will be offering a worldly specials menu to complement our dinner menu. The evening will be kicked off with a cocktail hour with Bichler’s at 6PM. They will start seating tables at 7PM, and the show begins at 8PM.

Bandette of The Week Kelsey

This week, we take a look at rookie dancer Kelsey as our Buffalo Bandette of The Week. Dancing on LB's line on gamedays, Kelsey is currently in school with hopes of opening up her own daycare center one day. In the world of pro cheerleading/dancing, it's not unheard of for sisters to end up joining the same squad but it is rather rare. The Jills had 2 pairs of twins join in consecutive years and the closest the Bandettes have come was in 5-year alum Meghan F, whose older sister spent the 2002 season on the Jills. Now we have a young lady following in her sister's footsteps, literally. Her older sister Danielle, on the squad the last 2 seasons, danced in the same spot in her rookie season that Kelsey's dancing in now. They actually share a lot...favorite book, place they want to travel to, career goals in teaching. One thing we can hope will be different is career length. Danielle only put in two seasons before she got married and moved away from Western NY. Kelsey seems to be loving not only being on the Bandettes but getting her photo taken. When the Bandettes debuted their "gangsta" gear, it was Kelsey who asked for a group pic of the squad. A self-confessed reality TV addict, she's probably more familiar with what Jills alum Katherine is dealing with in the Amazing Race than anyone, even without knowing her personally.
