Photos and videos from the Jills' Open Practice

NFL Cheerleaders didn't just start out in the pro ranks. Most pro cheerleaders don't even wait until high school to start cheering and start out in grade school. To reach out to the young cheerleaders in Western NY, the Jills staged their 1st Open Practice on Tuesday night and the event was a bigger success than most expected. Well over 100 young girls came to the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse to learn from the pros along with their parents and, in some cases, their coaches as one squad even sent a busload of their cheerleaders to learn from the Jills.
After check-in, the Jills led their young charges through some stretching exercises before splitting off into groups around the Fieldhouse where 2-4 members of the dance squad worked closely with groups of girls to teach them a cheer. While this was all going on, the Jills Ambassadors walked around to sell raffle tickets and talk to parents about the Jr Jills program and about what they wanted their children to get out of the experience.
After training with the Jills dancers, it was time to perform and each group performed with their squad leaders before a large cheer with all of the young cheerleaders. But that wasn't it as the Jills had a special treat for their young charges as they put on a performance to show off a lot of what they do on gamedays in pregame and at the 3rd intermission of the game. The session finished off with photographs and autographs for the kids before the Jills finished off their night with their customary closed-door practice.
The Jills next take the field when the Bills host the Browns on October 11th but they'll be plenty busy before then. They'll be introducing a new exercise class at Gold's Gym in Williamsville Friday night and then again in Lancaster Saturday morning. And with the Bills on the road, you can meet some of the Jills at the Aud Sports Bar in Depew or at Sole Restaurant in Williamsville as you watch the Bills Squish The Fish! But if you're going to the game in Miami, don't forget to stop at Shooter's in Fort Lauderdale the night before the game for the annual Buffalo Invasion Party. This year's event even includes a large contingent of Buffalo Jills there to sign autographs and pose for photos. Get all the info on these and other Jills appearances at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/index.php and stay tuned to the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog for more coverage on the First Ladies of Buffalo!

The Buffalo Jills at the Bills-Saints Game

After last week's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bills Nation was hoping to shock the NFL world by stifling the high-flying offense of the New Orleans Saints. The defense did their part for most of the game holding Drew Brees and the Saints to 10 points going into the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, the offense was shut out in the 27-7 loss with the Bills' only points coming off a fake FG pass from Brian Moorman to Ryan Denney. The Bills not only lost the game, but some players to injury as well and fans can only hope the addition of Marshawn Lynch, coming off a 3-game suspension, will help the struggling team somehow even though RB Fred Jackson has continued to impress fans and opponents alike.
Thankfully, not everyone struggled on the Buffalo side of the game as the Buffalo Jills, fresh off their Calendar Release Party the night before, put in strong performances all day long. The 97Rock Tailgate on Radio Row was the place to find Ambassador Squad Captain Keisha along with fellow ambassadors Lindsay, Courteney, Alyssa, and Kelly Ann. Just a few spots away, you could find Laura, Ruby, Nicole L, Katy, and Kristen at the 103.3 The Edge Tailgate party. At both parties, you could get your photos taken with the Jills and get your 2009-10 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendars purchased and autographed. Inside the Fieldhouse, Amanda and Heather participated in some Family Feud with quizmaster Dennis George before heading out onto the field to escort Billy Buffalo and participate in many of the promotions the Bills held during timeouts for the fans.
But before the game could take place, they had to have a ball to play with and it was up to 10-year veteran Eileen to deliver that before the Jills took the field to perform for the fans before welcoming the Buffalo Bills. Another Buffalo Jill had a big day as well. 3rd year vet Vincenza, last year's calendar covergirl and a 2-year member of the Ambassador Squad, joined the dance squad this year and got on the sidelines for this game. While she performed at the Hall of Fame game and at the Kid's Day Preseason game, this was her first regular season dance performance and she did an outstanding job anchoring one end of Omarlla's line.

Buffalo Jills Calendar Release Party

Club Paradise in Blasdell, NY was the place to be Saturday night as the 2009 Buffalo Jills held their annual Calendar Release Party. As if a calendar that hot actually needed any help getting sold, the Jills pull out all the stops for this event every year. In addition to raffles and getting to mingle with Buffalo's Beauties, fans got to see a hot dance performance that featured many of the Jills dancers in a group of dances that took over 3 minutes in total. Keep in mind that most performances are generally about a minute in length so the Jills put a bunch of regular performances together into one big one. But to top that all off, the big attraction is basically seeing the calendar in 3-D as the Buffalo Jills came out on the Club Paradise dance floor to model the swimwear from the calendar.

The Jills are staying busy over the next week or so.
Tuesday night, the Jills are hosting an Open Practice at the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse where you can see what an NFL Cheerleader Practice is like, meet the squad, and learn a little. Get all the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=44
Gold's Gym is the official gym of the Buffalo Jills and will be the place to be Friday night or Saturday morning as they introduce the latest in exercise classes called "Body Attack!" The events include food sampling, Jills photos, and more. Get the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=49
Also, let's keep in mind it "Squish The Fish" week in Bills Nation and for the fans headed to Miami to see the Bills bounce back from yesterday's loss, make sure to check out the annual Buffalo Invasion Party at Shooter's Waterfront Cafe in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $10 at the door, proceeds going to Brian Moorman's PUNT Foundation and gets you the 1st drink for free, music by Buffalo's Tom Sartori, appearances by Buffalo Bills Alumni and by members of the 2009 Buffalo Jills! Check out the details at http://buffaloinvasion.com/details.htm
If you're not making the trip though, you can still watch the game with the Jills at a few different locations. The Aud Sports Bar in Depew is the location of this year's Edge Away Game parties that include an appearance by a couple of the Buffalo Jills. Check out the details at http://www.wedg.com/Article.asp?id=872591
If you prefer a different atmosphere, Sole Restaurant in The Walker Center has a pair of Jills bartending for every away game this season as well. Get the details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=50

Buffalo Jill of The Week Heather

This week, we take a look at one of the rookies on the squad as our Jill of The Week and we start off with blonde beauty Heather. For this week's edition, I recruited one of her closest friends to tell you about her. Her friend, CW23's host Lydia, had this to say. "Heather is a first year Ambassador Jill who we are awfully glad to have on our side. She among some of our other blonde bombshells certainly prove that blondes can bring on the brain power just as much as anyone else! She is a student at St John Fisher and works and lives in Rochester NY. Her work ethic is very apparent to those around her and she brings a delightful enthusiasm and optimistic outlook to our whole team. Her energy and passion for sports surely set her apart which is why she is our JILL OF THE WEEK!"
To add to that, Heather is as warm and friendly as a girl can be and shows a genuine interest in what people have to say. This is a part of what makes her intelligent, just by listening to others, anyone can learn a lot. You learn new things and find out about new experiences to try out, something which Heather is loving getting to do as a Buffalo Jill.

UltimateCheerleaders.com at the Bills-Lions preseason game.

A few weeks ago, James Blakey of UltimateCheerleaders.com visited us in Buffalo and got onfield access for a slew of great photos of the Buffalo Jills. You can check out his write-up at http://ultimatecheerleaders.com/2009/09/nfl-pre-season-week-4-the-buffalo-jills-2/ and see the whole gallery of photos at http://ultimatecheerleaders.com/nggallery/page-8903/album-6/gallery-52

The Jills at the Bills Home Opener!

The 50th season for the Buffalo Bills started off in forgettable fashion as they gave away an 11-point lead on Monday Night Football last week. With a 9-year playoff drought, the game gave fans reasons for hope as well as reasons for despair. When it came time for the Bills home opener this weekend, the hope and excitement were what filled the stadium as the Bills hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 1st time in a regular season game in the 34-year history of that franchise. A strong start gave way to a close game until the Bills put the game away behind the efforts of Fred Jackson, Donte Whitner, Terrell Owens, an O-line with only 1 player with more than 1 start, and a raucous crowd of over 70,000 mostly Bills fans.
But of course this site isn't about the game but the beauties cheering on the Bills and there's plenty to say about them as well. Prior to the game, fans found Vincenza joining Ruby, Kelly Ann, and Courteney at the 103.3 The Edge Tailgate party posing for photos and selling their hot swimsuit calendars. Amanda was there as well and if you're wondering why a dancer (Vincenza) was with the ambassadors, a hamstring is the reason, showing that cheerleading and dancing are definitely a sport but we'll hopefully have Vini back on the sidelines next week. At the 97Rock Tailgate nearby, Heather, Lindsay, and Laura joined calendar covergirl (and birthday girl) Katy as they also posed for photos and sold calendars while Carl Russo of 97Rock broadcasted live behind them. Meanwhile, in the Fieldhouse, Kristen faced off against Ambassador Squad captain Keisha in a game of Family Feud teamed up with 2 groups of fans before they spent the game touring the stadium alongside Bills mascot Billy Buffalo.
When it came time for the game, they had to get the game ball delivered before they could start and drawing that duty for the day was none other than 10th year veteran Omarlla, a Buffalo school teacher who just seems to get better in every way each year. Halftime brought something special to the Bills fans as the Bills introduced their 50th Anniversary All-time team, as chosen by the fans and joining the team on the field were not only the dancers, but the ambassadors of the Buffalo Jills. It was definitely a unique sight as Omarlla, Eileen, and Nicole P's lines came out on the field with members of the Jills Ambassador Squad interspersed in their lines.
Next up for the Jills, Club Paradise in Blasdell is the place to be Saturday night as the Jills have their annual Swimsuit Calendar Release Party. These 39 beauties won't be just selling the calendars but doing a great job of convincing people to buy them with a high energy fashion show in the same swimsuits that they're wearing in the calendar. The event also includes a dance performance, raffles, and drink specials. The event runs from 9-midnight and the girls won't have a lot of time to relax afterwards as the Bills are once again at home on Sunday, this time against the high-flying New Orleans Saints. Former Bills Anthony Hargrove, Pierson Prioleau and Jabari Greer came to town with a solid team behind them, which means the Jills and the fans will have to once again do their best to help the Bills come out with a win!

Buffalo Jill of The Week Ashley

This week, we take a look at our other early departure from the Jills as our Jill of The Week. Redhead beauty Ashley was to spend her 2nd season on the Jills dancing on Nicole's line between Lynn and Jennifer after spending last year on Omarlla's line between Omarlla and Lisa. She describes herself as outgoing, kind, and someone who likes to have a good time. All this is true but the most noteworthy aspect of her personality is the size of her heart. Yeah, that can be covered under "kind" but I'd say she goes above and beyond in that respect. She always does her best to make sure everyone is included in the fun of the evening and her big smile, which she's almost always sporting, is warm enough to turn any frown upside down. In these respects, she's just like her mother and grandmother who she says are very caring and go out of their way to help anyone and everyone. She's currently working on a degree in psychology and we hope, when she's getting her degree in the spring, that she comes back to the squad so she can light up the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium next fall with her dance moves and smile. You can read more about Ashley at http://buffalojills.net/roster/ashley.php and check out hers and Kristina's performance at the 1st round of tryouts at Town Ballroom at http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2009/1st%20cuts/?action=view&current=152.flv

Stanz Benefit at Shawbucks

Frequently, the Jills are asked to appear at various charitable events in which they greet the attendees, sell raffle tickets, and sign autographs. Today in Jamestown, NY was one of those such events. Shawbucks bar was the scene where a benefit is being held today for Staff Sgt John J Stanz of the US Marine Corps. Last month, the young man was critically injured by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan and is currently surviving in a coma in the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD. A number of live bands are performing throughout the course of the day at the event with a $10 cover charge that goes to the family and the recovery of the injured Marine. His parents, owners of their own business, are at his bedside currently to be there for when he awakes by the medically induced coma. On hand for this event were not only 3 current Jills, but 3 more Jills alumni lending their support. Joining the pretty full barload of patrons were Murissa, Kaitlin, and Ruby (who helped organize the whole event) and former Jills twins Jill R and Joy (2007) and Dominica (2005). http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2009/Stanz%20Benefit/
If you're in the Jamestown area, the event is still going on until 10 but if not, there are still plenty of fundraisers planned that you can find out about by going to http://www.rdido.com/Home/Events_and_Fund_Raisers.html and read more about Staff Sgt Stanz at http://www.truehero.us/
The Jills are still keeping very busy with the Bills opening up the season on the road with a pep rally at Fountain Plaza Monday at noon and an appearance in Fort Erie for MNF. Also, don't forget about the Edge Away Game parties being held this season at the Aud Sports Bar in Depew. I can tell you from first hand experience that last year's Away game parties are worth attending and the new location this year should only improve the experience.
The Jills next return to the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium one week from today as the Bills host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their first ever regular season appearance at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The only time that the Buccaneers have played in Western NY prior to this was a preseason matchup in 1977! Besides seeing the dancers onfield just prior to and during the game, you can meet the Jills Ambassador Squad in the Fieldhouse and at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties prior to the game where you can pick up your Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendars if you haven't already. And if you have, you can still get it signed by Buffalo's Beauties.

2 appearances in Northern Chautauqua County

A couple different locations were the setting as the Jills went south from Erie County into the county that used to host Bills Training Camp and was the birthplace of Bills 50th Anniversary team LB Shane Conlan.

First off was the Tailgate Party in TJ Maxx Plaza in Dunkirk which was put together by DFT Technology Plus, a local internet and DirecTV provider. The attendees, of which there were many, got free hot dogs and registered for prizes like a flat screen TV or a Terrell Owens autographed jersey. Put together as a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County, DFT brought in former Bills LS Adam Lingner as well as Jill, Jessica, Angelina, and Joya of the Buffalo Jills to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Next up was Septemberfest at Merritt Estate Winery, an official sponsor of the Buffalo Jills and the maker of Buffalo Jills Wine. As a fundraiser for Camp Good Days, they held a silent auction with dozens of prizes including autographed Buffalo Sabres photos and memorabilia. Merritt Winery brought in former Sabres winger Danny Gare and ex-boxer Baby Joe Mesi along with several members of the Buffalo Jills to sign autographs and pose for photos while live music played all day long.
With 2 events going on at once, I was able to make it out to Merritt Winery in time to talk to and get some photos of Ayeshia and Jennifer of the Buffalo Jills before their shift ended.
The Jills aren't done in Chautauqua County this weekend by any means, though as Septemberfest is going on Sunday as well so you can still check out some live bands, tour the winery, and meet some of the Buffalo Jills then. http://www.merrittestatewinery.com/page/53/calendar.aspx
Also, Shawbucks in Jamestown, in the southern part of the county, is hosting a benefit for a Marine who was critically injured in Afghanistan. The event goes from 1pm-7pm (or 10pm depending on the website) and costs $10 at the door which goes to benefit his family and his recovery. You can read more about the young man's situation at http://www.truehero.us/ Live music is included throughout the day, Shawbucks' kitchen will be open for business and a few of the Buffalo Jills will be on hand to lend their support as well.
After all this, it'll be time for the Jills to get set for the season with a pep rally in downtown Buffalo at Fountain Plaza Monday at noon and then a number of them will be heading across the Peace Bridge to hang out with Bills fans for Monday Night Football at Kelsay's Restaurant on Garrison Road in Fort Erie.
Be sure to stay tuned to http://buffalojills.net/appearances/index.php and the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog for more info on Jills future appearances!

Away game parties announced!

Last season, 103.3 The Edge held away game parties for the Bills games with appearances by the Buffalo Jills at Rhino's Rock Bar in Orchard Park. It appears that Rhino's has closed but The Edge found a new spot to hold the same away game parties with some of the 2009-10 Buffalo Jills. The Aud Sports Bar and Grill is located in Depew and features plenty of sports memorabilia on the walls including a lot from, you guessed it, the Aud, the recently demolished Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.
Like last year's away game parties, James will be giving away prizes throughout the game and the Aud will be providing a halftime buffet as well as drink and food specials every game! Get all the details at http://www.wedg.com/Article.asp?id=872591

Buffalo Jill of The Week Danielle

This week, we take a look at an early departure from the 2009 Buffalo Jills. Danielle spent a little over 3 years as a Jills Ambassador and was officially the co-captain for the squad in 2008 but was acting captain for gamedays and events for most of the season as well. This season, she was to be the captain for the Ambassador Squad but unfortunately departed the squad early leaving us with just memories. She actually showed her leadership abilities and devotion to her squadmates in her rookie season so the fact that she was named co-captain in her 3rd season is only a surprise that she waited that long to take the role. Through her time on the squad, she got to meet thousands of people, visited the troops, and made many friends among many other things. Presumably, the Jills' loss is the dental profession's gain as she's a licensed orthodontic assistant, making boys actually want to get braces...just so they can see her on a regular basis. You can read more about Danielle at http://buffalojills.net/roster/danielle.php

Revisions to Jill of The Week schedule

Every year, when Jills are trying out, a lot is put into letting everyone know how much will be expected of them if they make the squad as far as time commitments. Unfortunately, even veterans sometimes pile too much on and can't stick with it. The original 45-girl squad is now down to 39 with 2 rookie and 4 veteran departures. The 2 most recent departures, both veterans, did still make the calendar and will still be featured in Jill of The Week features. However, we do want to get them featured sooner rather than later and we'll be making 3 small changes to the schedule to accommodate that.
  • 9/5-9/11 Liz
  • 9/12-9/18 Danielle
  • 9/19-9/25 Ashley
  • 9/26-10/2 Heather
  • 10/3-10/9 Eileen
  • 10/10-10/16 Christina
  • 10/17-10/23 Joya
  • 10/24-10/30 Gabrielle
  • 10/31-11/6 Jackie
  • 11/7-11/13 Murissa
  • 11/14-11/20 Kelly Ann
  • 11/21-11/27 Stephanie B
  • 11/28-12/4 Keisha
  • 12/5-12/11 Lindsay
  • 12/12-12/18 Kristen
  • 12/19-12/25 Nicole P
  • 12/26-1/1 Jill
  • 1/2-1/8 Lisa
  • 1/9-1/15 Valerie
  • 1/16-1/22 Nicole L
  • 1/23-1/29 Katie
  • 1/30-2/5 Courteney
  • 2/6-2/12 Caity
  • 2/13-2/19 Laura
  • 2/20-2/26 Jennifer
  • 2/27-3/5 Lynn
  • 3/6-3/12 Michelle
  • 3/13-3/19 Ruby
  • 3/20-3/26 Ayeshia
  • 3/27-4/2 Loren
  • 4/3-4/9 Jessica
  • 4/10-4/16 Angelina
  • 4/17-4/23 Vincenza
  • 4/24-4/30 Alyssa
  • 5/1-5/7 Stefanie
  • 5/8-5/14 Kaitlin
  • 5/15-5/21 Omarlla
  • 5/22-5/28 Amanda
  • 5/29-6/4 Anna
  • 6/5-6/11 Kelly
  • 6/12-6/18 Katy
The new schedule will not only allow us to get our early departures featured, possibly with their bios still up on buffalojills.net, but will also allow a few of our rookies to get a more complete feature. We try to be pretty even as far as how much a Jill gets put in her post and the new schedule, with only 3 switches made, should do a lot to help make that happen.
But getting back to the topic of early departures, while it's completely understandable that things do happen and you can't always make the time commitment required of becoming a Buffalo Jill, please don't short-change your life and bite off more than you can chew. If you dream of becoming an NFL cheerleader, make sure you can give it your all...you'll be glad you did. All the hard work you put in through tryouts, through the work in the summer getting prepared for the season. The reason for that hard work isn't fully realized until the football season and beyond.

Buffalo Jills Cheerleader checks out our ride

From the Tailgate Knight
British-born tailgater is going to 24 football games this season and in this blog post, talks about meeting 3rd-year dancer Lisa of the Buffalo Jills!

Some charitable events coming up featuring the Jills

As many know, Buffalo is known as the City of Good Neighbors and of course that extends throughout Western NY and doesn't stop at the city limits. The city gets that name because of how Western NY residents, despite the economic conditions of the area, never fail to help those in need by being Good Samaritans or by helping out charitable endeavors. The Buffalo Jills are often asked to lend their support to charitable events and we have a few such events coming up this weekend.
The first of these events takes place Friday evening at Bada Bing Nightclub on the corner of Chippewa and Delaware in downtown Buffalo. Blondes vs. Brunettes is a volunteer-driven event that raises awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Two teams of women – divided to reflect the age-old rivalry between blondes and brunettes – compete in a flag football game to help end Alzheimer’s. The participants also recruit coaches, announcers and other volunteers to build an atmosphere of fierce, friendly competition. Leading up to game day, the two teams participate in a series of events to socialize and increase awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. The first event of this endeavor will be a kick off party from 7-9 with $10 admission at the door and raffles, prizes, drinks, and food available as well as appearances by some of the Buffalo Jills. See more at http://bvbbuffalo.kintera.org/faf/help/helpEventInfo.asp?ievent=313591&lis=1&kntae313591=39142E3BF7E849168351257C7AAB02B4
Saturday and Sunday is the Septemberfest at Merritt Estate Winery and the event benefits Camp Good Days and Special Times, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life challenges through summer camping experiences and year-round events and activities. The event goes from noon to 10pm on Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sunday and features items up for silent auction, live music, and autograph signings by the Sabres' Paul Gaustad as well as members of the Buffalo Jills! See more info, including a list of items up for auction, at http://www.merrittestatewinery.com/page/53/calendar.aspx
The final event to tell you about takes place Sunday in Jamestown, NY. The war in Afghanistan has affected everyone from the events of 9/11 which changed our view of the world around us and cost many civilian lives. The members of the US military fighting in Afghanistan have been working to bring the people behind those cowardly attacks to justice. Many of these brave men and women have lost their lives in that fight and many more have been seriously injured. One of those men, Staff Sgt. John J. Stanz of the Marine Corps, was critically injured on August 15th when the vehicle in which he was riding was blown up by a land-planted improvised explosive device. To operate, he was placed in a medically induced coma in which he remains today. On Sunday, Shawbucks in Jamestown is hosting a benefit from 1-7pm which includes live music, food available for purchase, and an appearance by members of the Buffalo Jills. The cost is $10 and the proceeds of this event will go to aid his family and his recovery. You can read more about Staff Sgt Stanz, what happened, and the fundraisers planned for him at http://www.post-journal.com/page/content.detail/id/538468.html?nav=5018&showlayout=0

The Jills at the Mayville Labor Day Festival

Obviously everyone knows about the Jills cheering on the Bills and their large popular events. But not everyone realizes how in demand they are for smaller events and appearances as well. Mayville, NY, on the shores of Chautauqua Lake, is holding a Labor Day Festival this weekend before a large fireworks show in the evening that will be seen not only throughout the region but from the International Space Station as well! Various communities around Chautauqua Lake are coordinating the pyrotechnics displays through local radio station SE93. Mayville went a step further than other communities though as Jills rookies Kelly and Loren were on hand in the afternoon to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the festival's attendees.
The Jills are staying plenty busy before returning to the Ralph for the Bills Home Opener on the 20th with appearances in Clarence's Labor Day parade, at 97Rock's weekly car show in Williamsville, at Bada Bing for the Blondes Vs Brunettes draft party, and Septemberfest at Merritt Estate Winery just to name a few in the next week! Stay tuned to http://buffalojills.net/appearances/index.php and the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog for the info on many upcoming Jills appearances.

NLL Schedule is out!

Sorry I wasn't able to get this out earlier but with all the work with the Bills game and Jills photos to get to, I've just been overloaded for a change. Yesterday, the NLL released the 2010 schedule for the Buffalo Bandits and the rest of the league. There are a few significant changes to the league since last season as the Portland Lumberjax, who fell to the Bandits in the 2008 Championship, ceased operations and a pair of teams moved. The New York Titans, who lost the 2009 Championship, have moved to Orlando and the San Jose Stealth is now the Washington Stealth with a move to Everett, Washington, which will help fill the void left by the end of the Portland team. The 11-team league now has a rather unbalanced schedule but the schedule-makers came up with a schedule that should work.
So, without further ado,
Saturday, January 9 -- @Rochester Knighthawks -- 8:05 p.m.

Saturday, January 16 -- Rochester Knighthawks -- 7:30 p.m.

Friday, January 22 -- @Washington Stealth -- 11:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 23 -- @Edmonton Rush -- 9 p.m.

Saturday, January 30 -- Minnesota Swarm -- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 6 -- Toronto Rock -- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 13 --@ Philadelphia Wings -- 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 27 -- Philadelphia Wings -- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 6 -- Orlando Titans -- 7:30 p.m.

Friday, March 12 -- @ Toronto Rock-- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 13 -- @ Boston Blazers-- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 27 -- @ Rochester Knighthawks -- 7:35 p.m.

Saturday, April 3 -- Colorado Mammoth-- 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 10 -- Toronto Rock-- 7:30 p.m.

Now everyone can start setting aside 8 Saturday nights to spend at HSBC Arena to watch the 2010 Bandettes cheer on the Buffalo Bandits lacrosse team.
The actual tryout dates, typically in mid-to-late October, for the 2010 Bandettes have yet to be announced but there is a dance clinic coming up on September 13th for not only young ladies looking to try out this year, but for any young ladies 16 and up who might be interested in trying out in the future. Buffalo Jill of The Week Liz

This year's series of Jill of The Week features leads off with one of our second year vets. Liz spent her rookie season as a Buffalo Jills Ambassador and while she enjoyed the experience, she decided to make a change for 2009. This year, she spends gamedays as a dancer on Omarlla's line between Lisa and Omarlla. It shouldn't be a surprise that she made the transition as she did dance all through her school years. Her future plans include clinical psychology but isn't gonna shut the door on a little bit of modeling if the opportunity presents itself after she not only got a few shots on Maxim.com but even spent some time appearing as a model for the Buffalo Bills' online store this spring. See her perform at the 1st rd of Jills dance cuts at http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2009/1st%20cuts/?action=view&current=084.flv and read more about Liz at http://buffalojills.net/roster/elizabeth.php

The Buffalo Jills at the Bills-Lions game

The Buffalo Bills finished off the preseason of their 50th season in forgettable fashion falling to last year's 0-16 team, the Detroit Lions by a score of 17-6. With injuries to come personnel and it being the final preseason game, both teams, but especially the Bills, rested a number of their starters much to the chagrin of the announced 60,877 in attendance.
Thankfully, one team didn't rest any of their starters as the Buffalo Jills performed at the high level we've come to expect of the squad over the past several years. 3rd year vet Angelina celebrated her birthday by delivering the game ball before joining Eileen's line for the game. Meanwhile, 3rd year vet Laura and rookie Nicole L of the Ambassador Squad accompanied Bills mascot Billy Buffalo around the stadium and in the stands for the evening.
A special guest was also on hand for the evening as UltimateCheerleaders.com head James Blakey was on the field for the evening so we'll be getting to see a lot more photos of the Jills in action.

Coming up next for the Jills, they'll be keeping plenty busy with appearances in Mayville and Clarence at their Labor Day Celebrations this weekend, more at 97Rock's Classic Car Show and Bada Bing next week before Septemberfest at Merritt Estate Winery next weekend.
