Jills on CNN/SI.com!
Last week, the Jills got some national notice when Maxim.com showed off some of the Jills on their site in photos taken by Fisher Creative Image Photography in their work on the new 2009-10 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar!
Well, now it's CNN/SI's turn to start paying homage to the ladies of the gridiron and in their first set of the season, the Jills got 7 shots up with a group shot of Omarlla, Christina, and Kelly as well as individuals of Christina, Jill, Anna, Gabrielle, and Murissa. Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week!
Continuing our look at the beautiful rookies who will be gracing the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium this fall, we have 3 photos from the Jills this week. Why? Because we have 4 girls remaining to introduce you to before next week kicks off the 2009-2010 series of the Jill of The Week series and wouldn't you know it? Only 2 of them have posed together except in the large squad shots taken at the Congratulatory Party.
First up is a photo from the Congrats Party featuring Courteney and Calendar Covergirl Katy. Courteney is an Ambassador with a college degree who may be trying out for dance next year.
Our next photo comes from Bills Training Camp on Jr Bills Backers Day, a day in which 9 of the Jills made an appearance to greet the next generation of Bills fans. Here we have a group shot of Jennifer, Nicole L, Heather, Stephanie, Loren, and Ruby. Nicole is a junior in college looking at a career in PR, which is something being an Ambassador will be a great help in. Heather is more than your typical blonde bombshell, this rookie Ambassador is as warm and friendly as they come and loves hanging out with little kids just as much as with her adult friends.
Our final Jills photo comes from the 7th Annual Jills Golf Tournament held at Fox Valley Club in Lancaster and features, in a shot taken while golfers were just arriving, Lynn and Michelle. Michelle is the final of our three alumni featured who is returning to the squad after some time away. Michelle was with the Jills for just a few months of the 2007 season and besides the fact that she's got much darker hair now, she's shown us something else we didn't see as well. Dancing on Omarlla's line on gamedays, Michelle is the one you see doing all the flips during Shout! and some other routines.
From the Bandettes comes a photo taken in the 4th quarter loss against the New York Titans and features Karla, Justina, and Alexis cheering on a goal by Bandits defender Billy Dee Smith. Bandettes tryouts are coming up and, while we don't have an exact date just yet, we can tell you that there's a clinic coming up on Sept 13th in which young ladies 16 and up can learn about being a Bandette for a day. Obviously you have to be 18 to join the squad itself, but the extra preparation can only help in high school cheerleading and give you a little idea what to expect when you do turn 18 and try out for the squad.

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week!
Continuing our look at the beautiful rookies who will be gracing the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium this fall, we have a photo from the recent Kid's Day preseason game.Prior to the game, Food Network filmed a special starring Guy Fieri on tailgating. Obviously, no tailgating show would be complete without the Commissioner of Tailgating, Joe Cahn. Here we see him posing with Jills rookies Kelly, Loren, and Alyssa. Kelly and Loren are both dancers, Kelly on Omarlla's line and Loren cheering on Nicole's line. Alyssa is an ambassador but she still has some dance moves. One of the segments filmed was a feature on the CBNG Tailgate and these 3 young ladies put together an impromptu cheer and dance for CBNG and if we're lucky, we'll see the finished product on TV when the special airs on Food Network on October 17th.
From the Bandettes, we have a photo from the matchup against the Portland Lumberjax in their last ever appearance at HSBC Arena after that team unfortunately ceased operations recently. Prior to the home games, after their posters are released, the Bandettes spend about an hour signing those posters as well as other Bandits gear for the fans. While waiting for the next fan to reach them, we see Jessica and Karla mugging for the camera. Jessica was in her 2nd season on the squad after 4 years in the US Navy. Karla was in her 2nd season BACK on the squad after taking 2 years off following 5 seasons on the Bandettes.

The Jills on Maxim Online and the Jill of The Week Schedule
A few years ago, while FHM Magazine was still printing in the US, a couple of the Jills appeared in their pages. The magazine's main competitor, Maxim only featured one of the girls back in 2005.
Now, Maxim.com is making up for that oversight with a hot gallery of 20 Jills photos in swimwear, many of which can be found in the recently released 2009-2010 Buffalo Jills Swimsuit Calendar. Check out the gallery at http://www.maxim.com/girls/girls-of-maxim/83631/2009-buffalo-bills-cheerleaders.html#1 The gallery features shots of Anna, Kelly, Eileen, Christina, Katy, Vincenza, Liz, Valerie, and Lisa. There's even a short question-and-answer session to be found at http://www.maxim.com/sports/sports-blog/83653/2009-buffalo-bills-cheerleaders.html
The Calendar itself is on sale for $15 and you are warned to wear gloves with it or else you may burn your hands because of how hot it is. You can get your copy at most Jills appearances and, if you can wait that long, the Jills will be also selling them at the 97Rock and 103.3 The Edge Tailgate parties and inside the Fieldhouse before each regular season home game. So far, they have yet to make it into the Bills store but hopefully we'll see them there as well. It's definitely recommended you get one from one of the individual Buffalo Jills though and if you know any of the girls, ask your friends if they want one as well and help the girls get these calendars sold out in record time!

The Jills at the Bills-Bears Preseason game
After what seemed almost like a home weekend in Canton last week, it was time for the Bills and Jills to return to Ralph Wilson Stadium for an actual home game against the Chicago Bears. This game, played Saturday night, held a few special aspects to it. For 1 thing, it was the 9th Annual Kid's Day game which included a large dance performance in pregame by not only the Jills, but the Jr Jills as well, a large group of young ladies that the Jills have worked with a lot over the summer. In addition, the Kid's Day game includes a small carnival of sorts in Lot C prior to the game, including appearances by the Buffalo Jills.
Whiile the Kid's Day activities are an annual thing, there was also an extra special feature to the day as Guy Fieri, host of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, shot an all-day special on something that Buffalo is best known for...tailgating! Lot 1 regulars Pinto Ron, Conkiln's Bar N Grill, and the Coffin Corner crew spent the day in Lot C with Bears tailgaters from the Windy City, Jay The Tailgating Guy, Commissioner of Tailgating Joe Cahn, the Food Network, and of course, the Buffalo Jills. Besides meeting and greeting fans and tailgaters, the Jills helped with the production and 3 rookies, Kelly, Loren, and Alyssa, an Ambassador, even put together an impromptu cheer for the CBNG tailgate.
After all that, it was time for the game and the Bills put on an exciting performance for the home crowd even without star WR Terrell Owens. The offense was electric, efficient, and fast-paced while the defense seemed to specialize in thievery with 5 takeaways, including 2 interceptions from 7th round draft pick Ellis Lankster. The excitement wasn't restricted, however as, in addition to seeing Amanda and Lindsay accompanying Billy Buffalo around the stadium, fans got to see the Jills perform at a high level all evening long.
Coming up next for the Jills, they have a few more appearances at St John Fisher College while Bills training camp winds down this week. http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=31
The Erie County Fair is in full swing and you can find some of the Jills most days just inside Gate 4 at the CW23 booth, where you can also find CW23 host Lydia many of those days as well. http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=36
They'll also be appearing at 97Rock Cruise Nights at Quaker Steak and Lube in Williamsville on Thurday nights as well as at Artpark on the 25th for a Peter Frampton Concert.
Finally, the Buffalo Sports Day event at Holland Speedway that was scheduled for July 25th but was rained out, is rescheduled for August 29th and the Jills will be back at the Ralph for the preseason finale against the Detroit Lions on September 3rd.

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week!
Continuing our look at the beautiful rookies who will be gracing the sidelines at Ralph Wilson Stadium this fall, we have a photo from the recent Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
In a photo taken midway through the 4th quarter, we have dancers Caity and Joya. I apologize because I can't give you much insight into these two young ladies as of yet but you'll be able to see them performing on Eileen's line starting Saturday night at the Kid's Day preseason game. Just a reminder, Lot C is the place to be from 3:30-6:30 as the Jills Ambassador Squad will be there (until about 6pm, anyway) for the Kid's Day festivities. There's also a special being filmed in that lot for the Food Network on tailgating featuring a team from Chicago and, representing Buffalo, the famed Pinto Ron.
With the Jr Jills joining the Buffalo Jills on the field this weekend, we have a photo from our other squad and their Jr squad, the Jr Bandettes at the Bandits-Titans game earlier this year. Here we see Alexis looking extra excited to get on the floor while the Bandettes and Jr Bandettes get set for their pregame performance.

The Jr Jill and Jr Bandette programs that the squads run do a great service for Buffalo's young women by giving those who are interested in dancing or cheerleading a head start by learning from the pros. Neither squad has cuts so everyone gets a chance to learn and the Jills and Bandettes each try to give the younger generation as much personal attention as possible so that everyone learns.

The Jills at the Hall of Fame Game
The NFL season kicked off this weekend with the Hall of Fame Inductions in Canton, Ohio. Among the inductees this year were former Bills DE Bruce Smith and owner Ralph Wilson Jr. After a night which was proclaimed Buffalo Bills Day by the Mayor of Canton, it was time for some football. The Annual Hall of Fame game typically kicks off the preseason slate of games in Fawcett Stadium and, in honor of tthe 50th season since the founding of the AFL, this year's teams were the only 2 teams from the original 8 AFL teams that still had their original owners, the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans, formerly known as the Houston Oilers.
The game itself was little to write home about as the 21-18 final score in favor of the Titans wasn't indicitive of how lopsided the game seemed to the large contingent of Bills fans in attendance. Many fans left the game thinking it was the same old Bills, even though the 1st preseason game is generally the most vanilla of all the games.
While the thought that the Bills being the same team may be a bad thing, there was one group that also looked like it was much the same as last year. But in the case of the Buffalo Jills, that's a very good thing as the rookies meshed well with the veterans and if you didn't know who was who, you couldn't have told who had the most experience and who had the least.
While the Ambassadors were doing an appearance at a local restaurant for the game, the dancers spent some time on the field before the game with their counterparts from the Titans cheerleaders working to make sure they were all ready for the game itself. From the top of the hill near the stadium, the practice could be seen as the Jills put the finishing touches on their routines. The gates opened about 3 hours prior to kickoff, which happened to be just as the Jills finished their practice. However, a few minutes later, Eileen's line came back out to put some finishing touches on their sideline routines after posing for a few quick photos. After that, short of a quick run to the souvenir stand by Lisa and Jennifer, the Jills concentrated on getting ready from their locker room until pregame when they took to the Bills side of the field for the game when they weren't out on the field performing. While the Bills as a team may have a lot of work left to do to get ready for the regular season, the Jills proved themselves to be more than ready.
Coming up next for the Jills, there are still some training camp practices to see them at on Tuesday and Thursday of this week and Monday and Tuesday of next week before the Bills break camp. Get the schedule at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=31
There are also plenty of other chances to see the Jills this week as they'll also be at Quaker Steak and Lube in Williamsville every Thursday night for 97Rock's weekly classic car show.
They can also be found most days at the Erie County Fair which opens this week. Details at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=36
Finally, the Jills will get to take the field at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Saturday night for the annual Kid's Day game. Accompanying them for the game will be the Jr Jills, and we can likely expect something extra for the Ambassadors as well.

Buffalo Pro Cheer Photos of The Week
This week's edition of the photos of the week gives us a look at a few more of the rookies from each squad.
From the Jills, we have a photo from the Season Ticket Holder Draft Day Party that the Bills threw this year. When fans went through Gate 7, they were greeted by members of the Jills Ambassador Squad. Shown posing for a quick photo are Ruby, Katy, Lindsay, Kristen, and Kelly Ann. Ruby, a rookie, very nearly joined the squad two years earlier if not for an illness that hurt her that year. Katy may be a rookie, but her face is familiar to us because she was interning with 97Rock last year and helped out at events and at 97Rock Tailgate Parties. Lindsay and Kristen, both rookies as well, both can boast they have some very supportive boyfriends. That's something that any boyfriend of a professional cheerleader is required to be. With all the hard work these young ladies put in, everyone in their lives needs to be supportive of them because what they do isn't all easy and a non-supportive boyfriend is the worst thing they can have. Kelly Ann may not have been on the squad last year, but she's 1 of 3 alumni who came back after some time off. She served from 2003-2004 as a dancer and chose to come back as an Ambassador this year and is only planning the 1 final season...but there's still plenty of time to change her mind...
From the Bandettes, we have a picture from the home game against the New York Titans. Shown in the midst of a routine are Erin Y, Meghan, and Lauren. Erin has been with the Bandettes for 6 seasons and a captain for all but the 1st and last of those seasons. Meghan joined the squad in 2006 and became Erin’s co-captain in 2008 and took over as captain in 2009. Lauren just spent her 1st season on the squad but she’s anxiously awaiting tryouts in October so she can make it back for another fun year.

The Jills at Jr Bills Backers Day at Camp
The 2nd weekend of Buffalo Bills training camp usually has a special feature for the littlest Bills fans. The Jr Bills Backers get some gifts, a VIP breakfast, and an up-close autograph session after practice with a lot of the players. They also get to see more of the Jills on hand than most practices do as the Jills had 9 of their beauties helping with the Jr Bills Backers Day festivities. When they arrived at practice, kids got to meet and get their photos taken with Amanda, Lindsay and Kelly before heading to the VIP tents for their breakfasts where they met Jennifer, Loren and Heather at the one location and Stephanie B, Ruby, and Nicole L at the other.
http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/buffalojills2005/2009/Training%20Camp%200801/
Coming up next for the Jills, they finally get to see some game action as they cheer on the Bills in Canton, Ohio at the Hall of Fame game next Sunday night! They then return home to the Ralph on the 15th for their first game action in front of the home crowd as the Bills play host to the Chicago Bears on Kids Day, which features an appearance by the Jr Jills and Kid's Day festivities prior to the game as well.
Don't forget, there are still plenty of chances to see the Jills at training camp...check out the Jills' schedule at http://buffalojills.net/appearances/details.php?recordID=31
